Chapter 7: Navy’s Loss

In the navy fleet, an air of gloom and terror pervaded the atmosphere, rendering the officers around them silent and downtrodden, their faces displaying an unsettling ugliness.

At that moment, news arrived that two warships were sinking, and the life cards(vivre cards) of the two vice admirals were burned, a stark indication that they had tragically vanished, their lives extinguished. The fate of the remaining six thousand naval officers originally under there command now also hung in uncertainty.

"Both vice admirals have been sacrificed, and only fifteen minutes have elapsed," the Sengoku uttered through clenched teeth, slamming his palm forcefully onto the table, leaving behind a deep imprint.

"Fleet Admiral please calm yourself," vice admiral Tsuru gently reminded him. Though equally stunned by the immense loss, she understood the necessity of maintaining composure during such dire moments.

Flushed with anger, Sengoku took a deep breath, attempting to steady his emotions. "Three vice admirals and ten thousand navy soldiers... They fought valiantly for twenty minutes, sacrificing their lives in the process. Could it be the work of Whitebeard? Or did the Whitebeard Pirates unleash their full might?"

"This is the first time in over a decade that the Navy has suffered such significant casualties in a single battle. We cannot afford to let the remaining soldiers stay there; it's akin to placing meat in front of lions, inviting them to devour," he lamented. The three warships under the vice admiral's command stood no chance against the relentless assault of the Whitebeard Pirates.

"Regardless, our plan has been exposed. The Whitebeard Pirates were aware, and thus, this tragic event unfolded," he sighed, his voice filled with resignation. "Though we may not know where we went wrong, we must face the consequences. One question remains: Do we still proceed with the attack on the Whitebeard Pirates? Facing an organized and prepared enemy like them, it will be exceedingly difficult to exploit their vulnerabilities."

At this critical situation, the only resolute voice rang out, "We must fight! We have no choice!" Sengoku's determination was unwavering. "We embarked on this mission with great fanfare, and to return empty-handed would bring disgrace upon the Navy."

As he spoke, he acknowledged the necessity of combat. "Let the other warship retreat to the G1 branch. Otherwise, it will become a target for Whitebeard, leading to unnecessary sacrifices." In this moment, Sengoku aimed to minimize further casualties. Satisfied, Tsuru nodded, "I will inform headquarters of your decision."

Tsuru's wisdom should not be underestimated. In this war, Sengoku held the command, with Tsuru serving as his trusted staff member and assistant. Tsuru also acted as a check to prevent irrational actions by him.

"Also conduct a thorough investigation. We must identify anyone who had knowledge of this operation," Sengoku commanded. The exposure of this operation has inflicted significant losses upon the Navy. It appears, from an outsider's perspective, that there may be an internal issue within the Navy. However, little did he expect that the problem lied with Teach, who overheard their conversation. "Hiss...," Teach took a deep breath as alcohol was poured onto the wound, causing an intense, burning pain that offered a strangely refreshing sensation.

With Teach'd extraordinary vitality, his wounds soon formed scars. These medicinal aids facilitated the recovery process. However, such a severe injury still required several days of rest and recuperation.

The onboard doctor was well-accustomed to treating such injuries. Skillfully stitching up the wound, applying ointment, and wrapping it with a bandage, Teach emerged unscathed within a matter of minutes. Though the pain lingered, it did not hinder his movements. He appeared at the right moment, as a colossal warship approached, with its crew preparing for battle, their eyes locked on one another.

To their surprise, it wasn't the anticipated fleet, but a single warship. "Seems like the navy also knows about the old man's abilities. They must have recalled the remaining warships," one of the pirates jeered.

As the warship drew nearer, it finally halted a mere hundred meters from the Moby Dick.

"Gurararara!, Sengoku, long time no see. I've been here for a while, patiently awaiting y for you!," Whitebeard chuckled, brandishing his signature weapon as he stepped towards the bow.

Sengoku remained silent as they locked eyes with each other. Suddenly, Whitebeard's gaze sharpened. Simultaneously, a surge of tremendous power erupted from both sides, generating electric arcs in the air with a resounding "boom." The clash of their Conqueror's Haki created a tumultuous collision, causing the sea to churn and the waves to become turbulent. The very air crackled with intensity, as if splitting into two distinct realms. The earth quaked, and the sky appeared divided.

Teach clung to the wall, steadying himself, his eyes wide open, watching the awe-inspiring spectacle unfold. Compared to these two individuals standing at the pinnacle of the world, his own courage felt feeble. However, with his goals set, Teach believed that one day he would reach their level and even surpass them.

He understood that he was still in the phase of accumulating power, not yet fully matured.

Sengoku exuded a terrifying aura of Conqueror's Haki. The ongoing clash appeared evenly matched.

The collision of Conqueror's Haki continued, but gradually, Whitebeard's overwhelming power began to suppress the other side, causing the latter's Conqueror's Haki to weaken.

The clash of Conqueror's Haki lasted only half a minute, but for the navy present, it felt like an eternity. The oppressive aura tormented their spirits. Yet, those who possessed strength were unaffected.

Simultaneously, they came to a halt, as if by mutual agreement. Sengoku revealed a glimpse of his abilities, his body growing larger and larger, transforming into a golden behemoth resembling a Great Buddha.

This was the form granted by his Devil Fruit, the Hito Hito no Mi, Buddha Model. It possessed terrifying defensive capabilities and could unleash devastating attacks.

Sengoku maintained the form of the Great Buddha, extending his palm forward, accumulating tremendous power within it. Meanwhile, Whitebeard raised his right hand, legs apart, his right arm bending backward as he clenched his fist. A silver-white transparent aura enveloped his fist, compressing an ultimate vibrational force.

"Great Buddha Shock!" "Aerial Shock!" They both shouted in unison.

The world grew dazzlingly bright, blinding their eyes. Everyone found something to stabilize themselves as the pirate ship swayed, tilting over the sea. A buzzing sound filled their ears.

After experiencing such a close encounter with the world's pinnacle, "Too terrifying!" Teach finally regained his senses. Looking ahead, the sea sank, forming a semi-spherical cavity with a diameter of a hundred meters under the impact of their clash.

"Gurarararara!!" Whitebeard laughed, stamping his right leg downward, delivering another "Aerial Shock" with a punch.

"Kids!, let's retreat for now and stop playing with them," Whitebeard stated. Upon hearing his words, the crew members swiftly followed his orders, returning to their positions as the Moby Dick turned and sailed away.

The Great Buddha struck once again, canceling out Whitebeard's Aerial Shock. Subsequently, the sea level began to rise. "Oops, it's a tsunami!" Within a short span of time, a hundred-meter-high tsunami surged forward, crashing onto the warship, obscuring the sky and the sun. Faced with such a natural disaster, the insignificance of their existence became palpable.

"What do we do? The warship will be crushed!"

"Are we going to perish in the sea?"

"Don't worry, the Fleet Admiral is here!" Tsuru spoke, noticing a slight change in the navy's morale. Humans may be powerless against natural disasters, but the indomitable powers of the strong remains unyielding.

"Great Buddha Shock!" Confronted with the tsunami, Sengoku displayed no fear. With a resounding "boom," the colossal tsunami was forcefully split in half from a distance, creating a circular void as he single-handedly neutralized its impact.

"Excellent, we're saved!" The surviving navy members wore smiles on their faces. "Full speed ahead, pursue them! Don't let the Whitebeard Pirates escape!" Sengoku commanded.

Gazing intently, they realized the Whitebeard Pirates had already fled, continuously moving away into the distance. Sengoku's anger remained unvented. How could the Whitebeard Pirates escape like this? If they didn't demonstrate the navy's strength, what face would they have after such a tremendous loss?

Three days went by, the warships of the Sengoku continued their pursuit of Whitebeard's Moby Dick.

All the factions in the New World had turned their attention to the Whitebeard Pirates and the navy. The details of the operation and the losses suffered by the navy were revealed.

If this operation succeeded, the Whitebeard Pirates would endure heavy losses, potentially altering the balance of power in the entire New World. But so far, succession for the navy seemed far away.

All the forces in the New World mocked the navy. The organization's reputation plummeted, and pirate attacks on naval branches became more frequent.

The battle unfolded on the sea,Volleys of magma erupted like shooting stars, hurtling toward the Whitebeard Pirates' Moby Dick. Continuous beams of light fired, each bullet compressed with immense vibration. A giant ice bird materialized, soaring through the air. All sorts of attack were being launched by the Navy.

Among the Whitebeard Pirates, powerful individuals stepped forward to counter these attacks. The warship of Sengoku had been relentlessly chasing the Moby Dick. Had they finally caught up? After several encounters, they managed to break free once more. However, it didn't take long for the navy to close in on them again.

In general, the navy took an offensive stance, while the Whitebeard Pirates assumed a defensive position.

Teach, in a corner equipped with two swords and two pistols at his waist refrained from excessive involvement. He entrusted this task to his comrades.

His newly obtained guns, one was gold, while the other was silver. Both were high-end pistols with exquisite craftsmanship and a pleasing weight. Rumor had it that they were acquired from the hands of a nobleman.

Teach instantly fell in love with them upon laying eyes on them. A comrade that was a sword user, also took a liking to the guns, since Teach possessed an lot of swords. He exchanged them willingly. As for swords, Teach had no shortage, including the famous blades Purgatory and Thunder Tooth. He even possessed ones, comparable in strength to his previous two swords.

Teach felt a sense of surprise when he discovered that the Thunder Tooth sword he had stolen was also one of the twenty-one renowned blades.
