Cocoyasi Village

Once they docked in Cocoyasi Village, they immediately smelled the tangerines and oranges as their mouths started to water. Braga, who cooking senses were tingling, wanted to buy some trees so that he could grow them and use it when he is cooking. While the others just went on their own to explore the villages. While Alex was exploring on his own, he bumped into a little girl with orange hair who was holding a book.

"Ow! Watch where you're going mister! For causing damage to my shirt, you have to pay me a thousand berries!" said the girl while pointing at Alex

Alex was surprised at the girl extorting him for money, but he just laughed and patted the girl on the head and said, "Little girl, can you tell me where I can buy oranges?" the girl who was still angry that Alex bumped into her and then patted her head just said, "Yes I can lead you there, but you have to pay me." while reaching out her little hand asking for money. Alex, who could do nothing about it and was about to give her the money, suddenly heard a voice "NAMI! Are you getting in trouble again with the villagers?!" the girl who heard the voice suddenly acted like a good little girl instead of the money-grubbing one and said, "No I'm not mom! I was just about to guide this mister to our house because he wants to buy oranges." the woman, who had an angry expression, suddenly had a welcoming expression as she said, "Oh why didn't you say so? Welcome to Cocoyasi Village young man. My name is Bell-mere, and this little troublemaker is Nami. Follow us we'll guide you to our house so you can buy oranges."

'What is wrong with this mother and daughter? They change moods like flipping a switch.' thought Alex as he followed Bell-mere and Nami.

"This village reminds me of my own village." Alex muttered but Bell-mere heard it and asked, "Where is your hometown?"

"I live in Vanya Village in Momon Island." when Bell-mere heard this she immediately grabbed his hands and asked "YOU LIVE IN VANYA VILLAGE?! CAN YOU GET ME YOUR VANYA ALE? I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT AND EVEN THE VILLAGERS TOO!"

Alex was surprised as he didn't know that there village's booze was this popular and just said, "Okay I'll tell my parents back home, when I send back a letter, to prepare it and ask a merchant to deliver it here." Bell-mere was happy when she heard this and walked happily towards their house.

When they got to their house, they were greeted by a blue-haired girl "Welcome home Mom and Nami!" she noticed Alex and asked Bell-mere with a tilted head "Mom who is this mister?"

"This is Alex, and he wants to buy oranges, and this is Nojiko, my eldest daughter." Bell-mere introduced both of them to each other.

After Bell-mere told Nojiko and Nami to bring the oranges and making sure that they brought extra since she said it's thanks for the Vanya Ale he was going to have delivered to them, Bell-mere sat down in the living room to talk to Alex.

"So Alex, what do you do really? A regular 'traveler' doesn't have an aura like yours. I'm a former marine officer, so you can't fool me." Bell-mere asked Alex as she was curious and wanted what the boy in front of her really was.

"I plan on becoming the Pirate King in the future. As of now, I'm gathering my crew members and after that I'll go to the Grandline and reach Laugh Tale." said Alex as he wasn't scared that Bell-mere would arrest him right now.

But he didn't expect Bell-mere to laugh and say, "HAHAHAHAHAHA Become Pirate King?! Youngsters these days have big dreams, but that's what I love about youth. Young man, don't give up on your dream, I know you'll be able to achieve it. Hey don't look at me like that. I am a FORMER Marine, so that means I'm just a normal mother now. Plus, you don't look like a pirate who would pillage villages and kill innocents." said Bell-mere towards the end as Alex was looking at her with an 'are you serious' expression because she was a marine supporting a pirate.

Just then, the two girls came back with the oranges and heard some of their conversation. They heard Alex's plan of reaching the final island in the Grandline and they asked him about it. Then, Alex explained to both girls what the Grandline was and how big the world is. The girls were awed, especially Nami who suddenly spoke up and held Alex's hand, "Please let me go with you Mister Alex. I've been reading about how to navigate since I want to draw a map about the world. I can be your navigator!"

Alex just smiled and patted her head while saying, "I can't bring you with me since you're too young and your mother probably won't let me. But, you should wait a few more years before you can set sail. I'm sure you'll find a crew that would set sail with you, and you'll be able to achieve your dream with them." Alex said this while thinking of the different kids he met during his journey 'Luffy, Zoro, Kuina, Usopp, Kaya and now Nojiko and Nami. I wonder if they would all meet in the future.' Alex laughed at that thought thinking it was absurd, but little did he know that these kids would be a force to be reckoned with in the future.
