Canocarres Cay

As they were sailing towards Canocarres Cay, Alex and his crew were training hard as they realized that the strength difference between the people from East Blue and the people from the Grandline. He heard rumors about an exiled person called 'Demon Sheriff' Lafitte there and wanted to see if he could recruit this person to his crew as he was interested in why the person was exiled and what he could contribute to the crew. Alex encountered some pirate crews on the way and just destroyed them since they provoked him first. It was their mistake to underestimate him just because he was a newcomer in the Grandline. They clearly thought that his bounty that was over a hundred million berries was only for show.

After the encounters with the pirates, Alex decided to talk to Cierra since he didn't want someone in his crew to distance themselves from them as he considers them his family. He noticed that she might have a sad or traumatic reason for acting this way, but whatever her problem may be, he would do his best to ease her of her burdens and close the gap between her and the crew. "What are you thinking about Cierra?" Alex asked the snake neck girl as she was looking over the horizon and admiring the view. Cierra didn't look at him but she still replied "Nothing important." Alex was used to her cold replies as he talks to her often so that she could warm up to the crew and maybe feel that she could trust the crew. "Well, if you're ready to talk to us, you can just talk to us." Alex then left her to think and went back to train.

After sailing for a few days, they finally saw Canocarres Cay which was a weird island because of its colorful trees and plants which make it look like a rainbow island. This was what everyone who visited the island first thought, but what they didn't know was the island was a torture site for prisoners and slaves. Alex and the crew didn't know that this colorful island would have such a dark use. Clearly, we shouldn't judge the outside features of something before knowing what it really is.

"The island looks so colorful and vibrant. What do you think is in there." said an excited Petronia as she asks her little brother and captain, Alex. "I don't really know to be honest. Maybe they have unicorns or something. Maybe candy." said Alex as he imagined a unicorn eating a lot of candy, but didn't show it as he needed to remain calm and collected as the captain. Robin seemed to have heard of the island but couldn't quite figure out where she heard it. She feels that there is more to the island than just colorful trees and plants.

As they dock at the port, they still don't feel the ominous aura that is coming from the deep parts of the island as they were still imagining a fun and enjoyable island. Robin, who saw they were lowering their guards, suddenly said "Don't let down your guard. I feel that this island is not what it really is." the crew inmediately put up their guard since they knew to trust Robin's senses when it came to these situations as she has a lot of experience when she was running from the Marines. "Alright, keep your guards up guys in case we encounter something. Fraulein, Petronia, and Braga guard the ship and protect our new crew members. Someone might steal the ship since it is eye-catching. We will just explore the island and maybe the person I am looking for is here." said Alex as he and the crew readied their weapons and walked into the forest.

As they were walking through the forest, they saw many unique animals, plants, and trees. Alex, who is interested in plants and trees, felt like he was in heaven because he discovered a lot of unfamiliar plants. He immediately noted down all of the plants and their characteristics which was a habit that was passed down to him by his father since this was what his father did while spending the last few moments he had with his grandmother. "Oy Captain! We should make it fast, this forest is creeping me out even if it is this beautiful." said Franco as he kept his guard up the whole time they were in the forest.

While they were walking again, they heard a scream "NO MORE PLEASE! I DON'T WANT TO GO THROUGH THAT AGAIN!" and they silently went towards the scream. When they found the place where the scream came from, they were shocked at what they saw. They saw Marines who were torturing people and slaves with different tools. Some were getting whipped, some were being electrocuted, and others were getting tortured in different ways. The crew was shocked and all thought to themselves 'This island really is not what it seemed.' and stayed silent as they looked at each other like they knew what each of them was thinking. After staying silent for a few more moments, Alex spoke up and said "Let's destroy this place and expose what the Marines are really doing. We should also show the people that the Marines are not who we really thought they were." the group agreed and waited for Alex to think of a plan. After thinking, Alex told them "Okay guys, here is the plan. Van Augur, you will clean up all the guards outside of the facility without alerting them. Law, you and Franco will infiltrate the facilty and free everyone inside their cells and I want you to look for a man named Lafitte. He will be useful to our crew if the rumors are true. While Robin and I will clear a path through the entrance using our Devil Fruits as we can take on multiple enemies. Understood?" the crew nodded and were surprised that their seemingly carefree and happy-go-lucky captain could think of an elaborate plan that could use their strengths to the fullest on the spot. Franco just smiled at their reactions as he remembered how Alex was an avid reader of military tactics and strategies when they were kids.

(Flashback)

"Oy Franco! Franco look at what this person did during their battles. He used different tricks and misdirected his enemies and made them dance in his palm! Isn't that amazing and cool! When I grow up, I want to be able to lead a group of people even if it is just a small one so I can feel the feeling of a mission succeding." said a kid Alex as he was showing a book about military tactics to a kid Franco while he was carving something in his hands. Franco just replied after without looking at the book "Yeah, it is cool. I am sure in the future you'll be able to do it. Just don't let me die you know, I still want to live longer." while Alex just smiled brightly and said "Of course I won't let you die! You are my right-hand man, and how am I going to be a good commander if I just let my people die." Franco just let out a small smile and went back to carving.

Franco was let out of his thoughts as he heard Alex say "Alright, let's start the plan and free those people!" they all nodded and started their operation.
