Chapter 152

In terms of sheer power, Kakashi stood far behind, he was undeniably outmatched by Deva Path Pain.

The strength of the Rinnegan was simply overwhelming, leaving them ill-equipped to confront such a force at this stage.

Kakashi's mind raced as he assessed the situation.

He had managed to decipher the brief five-second gap between Deva Path Pain's Almighty Push and Universal Pull, and he knew he had to act swiftly.

Crafting a cunning plan on the fly, Kakashi chose a deceptively simple tactic.

He feigned surprise attack, making it appear as if he was an easy target for Deva Path Pain from the ground. Inevitably, Deva Path Pain resorted to using Almighty Push to repel Kakashi.

This was the moment Chōji and his son seized. They launched a coordinated attack, propelling themselves forward like a double meat bomb chariot.

However, the Deva Path Pain, displaying its extraordinary abilities, effortlessly deflected the assault.

But he had underestimated this attack, believing it to be a straightforward offensive.

Unbeknownst to Deva Path, Kakashi had strategically placed hidden chains underground prior to launching his ground attack.

The consequences were immediate and profound. Deva Path was ensnared and incapacitated on the spot.

Had it not been for the selfless sacrifice of Asura Path to shield him, Deva Path would have met his end right then and there.

Even so, he was left severely weakened and humbled by the ordeal.

After suffering this defeat, Deva Path Pain was humbled and shed his arrogance, as he nursed his wounds, a flicker of fear toward Kakashi began to creep into his mind.

He decided to maintain a cautious distance from Kakashi, ensuring his own safety.

Using his abilities, he launched a nail towards Kakashi, who was trapped in the debris.

However, Kakashi was not one to sit idly by. With determination in his eyes, he swiftly activated Kamui to teleport the attack successfully, escaping this assault.

Just as things seemed to be settling down, against all odds, the heavily damaged Asura Path Pain reemerged.

From his battered form, he conjured a tracking missile aimed directly at Chōji.

Kakashi's heart raced, and he felt a numbing sensation in his chakra-depleted body.

His chakra reserves were dangerously low now there was little chakra left within him.

The thought of utilizing Kamui to redirect this imminent threat came to his mind.

But he knew that doing so would completely deplete his remaining chakra reserves entirely, leaving him vulnerable in the face of whatever challenges lay ahead.

Yet, the thought of standing idly by while Chōji met his demise was unbearable to him. Kakashi found himself in a harrowing dilemma.

He couldn't bear witnessing such a tragedy again.

Caught in his moment of indecision, Kakashi's mind raced for a solution.

Then, a sudden realization struck him, and he turned his gaze towards Carnes and Demiurge, who stood on the rooftop not too far away, his voice strained but resolute.

"Didn't you two claim to be friends of Jiraiya-sama?" Kakashi questioned, his voice quivering with a mixture of anger, desperation and urgency.

"Although I might not know Jiraiya-sama's final wishes...

This is still his village. Wouldn't you step forward to save it?"

He paused for a moment, his desperation evident.

His thoughts raced as he wrestled with the situation.

"And please forgive my rudeness from yesterday," he continued.

"Please, I request you, help us!"

In an act of desperation, Kakashi let out a sharp cry, directed at Carnes.

He lowered his head, a rare display of humility for the usually stoic ninja.

Deep down, Kakashi wasn't a person who clung to life at all costs or feared death.

However, given the current circumstances, if he had the option, he wanted to preserve his own life for the sake of the village.

Even though he had harbored suspicions about Carnes the day before, circumstances had changed, he now saw no alternative.

"This man was trusted by both Jiraiya-sama and Tsunade-sama,"Kakashi reasoned with himself.

"I have no choice but to place my trust in him."

And now filled with resolve, Kakshi steeled himself for whatever course of action lay ahead.

With clenched fists and a sense of determination, Kakashi made his plea, hoping that Carnes would answer the call of duty and lend his aid in their time of need.
