Expect the unexpected

Returning to the fishman district, Otohime kept on pestering Kenshin to visit the Ryugu Palace.

"When will you visit the palace?"

"My kids really wanted to meet you last time but you left before you even entered the palace."

"Hey, hey, don't ignore me! I will just have to bring you to the palace by force if you don't want to go there on your own."

Otohime kept blabbering annoying Kenshin, Fisher Tiger only laughed seeing this and said, "How about you visit the Ryugu Palace first, or else Queen Otohime will keep on pestering you to no end."

Kenshin who was already having a headache nodded his head helplessly and said, "Yeah, I have to go to even if I don't want to or else I will go crazy if this goes on."

"Hahaha, Queen Otohime is always like that if she decides on something then she will do everything just to get what she wanted," Jinbe said with a laugh.

"What a spoiled Queen," Kenshin murmured while Otohime just smiled in victory.

He then looked at Fisher Tiger and said, "You and Jinbe should also follow us because I have something in mind and hope that the both of you can also give your own ideas."

The two of them had a confused look on their faces but they still nodded their heads as they directly went to the Ryugu Palace on top of a manta ray.

Fishman Island, Ryugu Palace

A huge manta ray just entered the palace's gate carrying 3 fishmen and a human on top of it.

Neptune who heard about their arrival was now waiting for them at the entrance of the palace.

Seeing the manta ray landing in front of him Neptune walked forward and saw the human that he met the last time, "Long time no see, Kenshin. how was your training?"

Jumping off the manta ray Kenshin approached Neptune and replied, "My training went well, sorry for not visiting you sooner."

"Hahaha, no need to apologize," Neptune said while Otohime stood beside Neptune and said.

"Let's us go inside first, I already told the kitchen to prepare a sumptuous meal."

The group then headed inside the palace, like other palaces treasures and antique stuff could be seen everywhere giving the palace a wealthy and ancient vibe.

Neptune then brought them to a huge hall where a table was already placed with 4 small seats on the sides and a huge one at the center.

"Let us take our seats first, the food will take a while," Otohime said as she took a seat near Neptune while Kenshin sat on the opposite side.

Seated at the center Neptune looked at Kenshin and asked, "Kenshin, I want to know why you visited Fishman Island because base on the reports I received your crew isn't really interested in going to the new world, and your crewmembers are just enjoying their stay here like they are going on a vacation especially that human named Jack he always stays at the mermaid cafe."

Kenshin's lips twitched finding out that Jack was living a life of debauchery and could only shake his head, he then glanced at everyone and said, "The truth is, I am waiting for my Fiancee to arrive as this was the place we decided to meet after not seeing each other for a few years."

"Aww, What a touching story two young humans separated and decided to reunite on an underwater island," Otohime said clearly interested in Kenshin's love story.

Neptune nodded in understanding finally knowing Kenshin's purpose, he then asked a follow-up question, "So what is your plan? are you just gonna stay here and wait for her to come?"

Kenshin looked at Neptune and replied, "Well, I do have a plan but I don't know if I am qualified to talk about it seeing that I am just a passerby on this island."

No one answered and they all stared at Kenshin trying to find out what the young human was planning, Fisher Tiger who was quiet the whole time finally broke the silence and asked.

"When you say that you aren't qualified and seeing that you wanted me and Jinbe to come here means that fishman district is somewhat a part of your plan, am I right?"

Kenshin nodded indicating that Fisher Tiger was correct and stood up as he explained, "I plan to reform the fishman district and turn it into a city where the residents of the fishman district can open up shops to improve their living standards."

Everyone was shocked hearing Kenshin's plan, they didn't think that Kenshin was planning on reforming the entire fishman district.

Neptune suddenly turned serious while Fisher Tiger and Jinbe had a surprised look on their faces not expecting Kenshin to say those words.

Otohime who still had calm look on her face studied the young man in front of her carefully and asked, "Reforming the fishman district isn't easy, let's say that we successfully made the fishman district a proper city how can we attract the attention of the fishmen and merfolk that are living in the Ryugu Kingdom? and what will the residents of the fishman district even sell?"

Kenshin smiled widely hearing her question and answered in confidence, "We will build an amusement park in the fishman district, with an amusement park built it will surely attract the attention of the residents that are residing in the Ryugu Kingdom especially the children."

He then walked towards the window and continued, "With such a beautiful attraction the fishman district will surely have many visitors making the local residents that want to set up shop flourish. They can sell food, toys, clothes, etc. the possibilities are endless with just the amusement park the entire fishman district will be reformed along with its residents. the once lawless area will be turned into a place of happiness where fishmen and merfolk enjoy what the humans enjoy on the surface."

As Kenshin finished speaking the entire hall became silent, Otohime already had tears in her eyes as she imagined the happy faces of her brethren.

Fisher Tiger was gripping his fist so tightly that it started to bleed while Jinbe had a huge smile on his face as he stared at Kenshin's back.

"Wonderful! Kenshin, I accept your proposal and will fully support the reformation of the fishman district." Neptune said as he slammed his trident with excitement.

Fisher Tiger stood up as he slowly approached Kenshin, "Kenshin, to tell you the truth I really hate humans from the bottom of my heart but ever since I met you that hatred is slowly fading and hope for the future of my people's happiness and peace started to ignite within me and that is why I decided to follow you."

He then kneeled with one knee and said in a loud voice, "Fisher Tiger Captain of the sun pirates and leader of the Fishman district hereby pledge his loyalty to Boss Kenshin."

Seeing Fisher Tiger pledge his loyalty Jinbe also stood up and kneeled beside Fisher Tiger, "Jinbe Vice-Captain of the sun pirates and a resident of the Fishman district hereby pledge his loyalty to Boss Kenshin."

Kenshin who was still looking outside the window turned around and faced the two kneeling fishmen in front of him.

He didn't look flustered and stared seriously at Fisher Tiger and Jinbe confusing Otohim and Neptune who was watching behind.

"I just told you my ideas and it is your job to execute them properly, you pledging your loyalty to me in the heat of the moment is not valid. you should think carefully before announcing your loyalty to me because it isn't as simple as you think, you pledging your loyalty means that my enemies will become your enemies and your enemies will become mine."

Kenshin then released his unrestrained conqueror's haki and directed it towards the two kneeling fishmen, "I will ask you again, are you sure you want to pledge your loyalty to me?"

Fisher Tiger and Jinbe who were both experiencing immense pressure right now were already trembling, they stared at each other and only saw resoluteness in each other's eyes as they shouted in unison.

"We pledge our loyalty to Boss Kenshin!"

As they shouted the pressure disappeared and Kenshin who was standing in front extended both of his hands and said with a smile on his face, "Welcome to the crew."
