Chapter 40 Bathhouse

Kai carried Luffy to the crew with Cobra. Robin wanted to do some things on her own before she had to leave with the crew and Kai let her do her thing. Kai and Cobra walked up to the Straw Hats.

"Who wants healing?" Kai asked the crew and all of them raised their hands as they were exhausted from their fights with Baroque Works. "Alright. Cobra, would you lead the way?" Kai asked Cobra and Vivi who was with the crew right now asked. "Dad? What are you doing here?"

Cobra explained to the group that Kai had told him about what was going on and that he and Kai saw Luffy's fight with Crocodile. He led them to the royal medical room and had them all treated. Kai just relaxed for a bit. He considered going to mess with Smoker but decided against it. The guy had a lot going on right now and he didn't wanna be an asshole. He thought to himself acting like he wasn't an asshole either way.

Anyway, Kai just relaxed in the royal castle for a few days until Luffy woke up three days later. When Luffy woke up the entire group went to the bathhouses for a bath. When everyone was already in the baths Kai walked into the men's bath room with a towel covering his lower body, but letting his upper body show. He still had his mask on.

Everyone saw his scars and the people who hadn't seen them before froze. Luffy looked over and had a very serious look in his eyes before he turned back around without saying a word. Zoro and Chopper had already seen everything so the weren't surprised.

Cobra saw him and he naturally flipped a switch stopping his emotions from coming to the surface as he had long since learned to do as a king. Usopp had his mouth agape. "What happened to yo-" He was cut off by a bunch of water that sprayed into his face curtesy of a wind blast sent by Kai.

Finally, Sanji saw Kai's body and the blast of wind he sent out as his cigarette fell from his mouth and tears pooled in his eyes, threatening to spill out. "Aniki..." He muttered not loud enough for anyone else to hear. Kai was the only one who saw Sanji's reaction as he was sitting at the back of the bathroom behind everyone else. Kai had a huge smile on his face before Usopp said. "What happened to you Fujin!?" He repeated what he said before.

Kai just sighed. He sent another blast of water into Usopp's face for the stupid question. "You'd think he would take the hint after one blast to the face." Kai said as he lit a cigarette. He sat down in the tub and started relaxing. Hearing the commotion on the other side Vivi had decided to look over the wall as she was concerned that something might have happened.

She peeked over only to see Kai shirtless. She gasped loudly and Kai just took a long drag of his cigarette. "I swear, every time girl's see me shirtless it's the same thing. Has no one ever seen a handsome man without a shirt on before? It's not that shocking is it?"

Usopp started saying. "They aren't shocked becau-" He was cut off by a foot to the face as Sanji kicked him before Kai could send a water blast into his face again. "Read the room damn idiot!" Sanji yelled out defending his brother.

Kai chuckled. "Thanks, love cook, anyway princess I think you got this whole thing backwards. Aren't the guys supposed to peek on the girls in the bathhouse? Isn't that like anime 101?" Vivi looked around at everyone before she blushed a bit realizing what she was doing. "I was just concerned something might have happened." She tired to explain but was still looking at everyone.

Kai waited a moment more before saying. "Umm, hello, earth to Vivi, why are you still peeping? Should I start charging by the hour? Cause it feels like you've been staring for a while." Vivi blushed deeply and stopped looking over the wall as she joined Nami for the bath again.

After a while the boys wanted to go peek on the girls, even Luffy was a bit curious this time because of what Kai taught him. As they started to climb the wall a large blast of wind knocked them all back down toward the bath. "Did you really think I would let you peek in front of me Sanji? Really?" He shook his head at his idiot brother and then added. "Besides, if I let you guys look you would all be broke by now. That demon Tangerine would tear you apart."

"Then why didn't you let them peak you asshole!" Everyone heard Nami yell from the other side of the wall. They started to shiver imagining the amount of debt they would be in if Kai had let them peek. Kai didn't do it to save there wallets he just hated it when people peeked on others like that, I mean it was LITERALLY sexual harassment. He wasn't gonna let his brother or his friends commit a crime like that if he was around to stop it, even if Nami wouldn't care and Vivi would probably be fine. His moral compass just wouldn't allow that to happen.

After they all stay in the bath for a while longer they decided to get out and go have some food somewhere else. When they got to the banquet hall there was food all over the table, they all ate together and somehow about 75% of all of the food there ended up in Luffy's stomach. How the hell does he eat that much? Who knows? Perhaps it's a bigger mystery than the one piece... anyway!

After this Kai decided to go to the Merry. He went to 'his room' in the Merry. It wasn't officially his room but he had started using it whenever he needed a room and no one else on the Straw Hats came in. He lay down and took a nap.

Kai woke up to a commotion. He walked up and peeked outside to see Hina attacking the boat. "Psst. Zoro!" He loudly whispered to Zoro who turned around. Kai stayed hidden inside the boat as he whispered again. "Ask her how her date with Smokey went!" Zoro grew a huge smile.

"How did your date with Smokey go the other day??" Zoro called out.

Hina blushed a bit. "Hina thinks it went well. Hina hopes Hina gets a second date." She said and Kai choked. "He actually pulled it off? Wahahaha! Good for you Smokey!" Kai said as he walked back to his room for another nap.

A while later.

Kai heard another commotion.

He yawned and stretched walking up to the deck. "Sup, idiots." He said as he made it to the deck.

"The enemy is here for revenge!" Usopp said as he hid behind the mast.

"Oh really? Cool." Kai said as he turned around to go to the kitchen. He came out 3 minutes later with some tea. Everyone was staring at him. "What? Did you all fall for me?" Kai joked. "We have a stowaway." Zoro said.

"No, she's a crew member!" Sanji yelled at Zoro. Kai just sipped his tea. "You didn't tell them?" Robin asked as she walked up to him. Kai just kept watching the crew start to fight about what to do with Robin while drinking tea. "No." He said.

Robin hummed. "Why not?"

"Funnier this way." Kai said and Robin was a little shocked before she laughed. "Nishishi! I thought you would have some grand reason for it. Like you did with Crocodile. I guess even you just do things on a whim sometimes."

Kai nodded. "Imagine having to plan everything you do? So exhausting." The crew finally stopped fighting about what to do before Luffy asked Robin. "Why are you here anyway?"

"Fufufu. I lost a bet." She said matter of factly. Leaving the crew confused. "What bet?" Zoro asked in a serious voice as he was very weary of Robin. "Mask-san made a bet with me that your captain would beat Crocodile. So now I'm here to join your crew. Whether we all live or die, who knows? Maybe we will all be brutally murdered by a flying ship." Kai spit out his tea. Was she psychic or something? That was one hell of a coincidence.

Zoro's eyebrow twitched at the end of her sentence before he asked. "What exactly was the bet about?" Kai sighed. "I bet that if I win she would join the crew. You'll all like her, don't worry. She's not a bad person, plus you can't even become the pirate king without her so you don't really have a choice. Err... I guess you technically could with me now cause I can read too but fuck it I just won't help you. There, now you need her again." Kai said it like he was a genius for forcing the crew to make Robin a member as he nodded sagely.

The rest of the crew was on the fence. Until Luffy said. "Welcome to the crew Robin!" With a smile on his face. Robin was shocked. "Really? That easily?" Luffy nodded. "You saved my life! Plus the Mask guy said you were a good person and I trust him! Also apparently I can't become the pirate king without you and I'm going to be the pirate king so you have to join the crew."

"Why do we even need her?" Zoro asked the question everyone should have asked a long time ago, they were just to stupid to ask. Kai replied honestly. "Can any of you read the ancient language? No? Well you need to be able to if you wanna become pirate king." The crew nodded as they understood the easy explanation. The fact that Kai just admitted to knowing how to read the ancient language just flew over all of their heads.

The rest of the crew was still wary, other than Sanji of course, that guy needs some real help when it comes to women. Anyway, they were wary of her, at least they should have been. After about 5 minutes the only wary one was Zoro because Robin gave Nami jewels and used her devil fruit to make Usopp and Chopper laugh.

A while later. They were sailing and Kai looked to the sky. He watched as a ship fell right next to their own. "Damn. It missed. You were almost right about us dying to a flying ship devil-chan."

The whole crew was shaken by what just happened and were frozen stiff. "Nishishi! You almost sound upset that it missed." Robin laughed. This caused the crew to realize what Kai had just said.

Nami punched out at Kai and tried to smack him only for him to dodge without even looking at her. "Yeah! Why are you so upset that it missed us?! You idiot!" Kai froze at her words. "You take that back Tangerine! I'm not an idiot!" He yelled as he started chasing her around the ship.

"Nishishi! Is it always like this?" Robin asked as she was enjoying herself on the ship so far. "Shishishi! It is! It's great isn't it! So much fun!" Luffy answered Robin's question on behalf of everyone.

After a little bit.

The crew decided to go diving for any treasure or anything else. Kai didn't dive as he didn't care about the ship at all. He was already rich enough especially after all that he won at Crocs casino, plus he already knew about sky island. He had been there before after all.

Anyway, Kai asked Nami. "How are you planning on flying?" Nami looked at him confused and he pointed at her log pose which was pointing directly up. Nami was confused. "What happened? Is it broken?"

Kai gave her a little push. "What if the island was in the sky." Nami punched her own hand. "What if it's a sky island?!" She yelled out excitedly. "There you go, now you're using your head." Kai commented as the rest of the crew had already been down scavenging for a while.

Kai was just chilling and he looked over to see Robin hugging Chopper and petting him. He walked over. "Isn't he just the best dog?" He asked her. "Fufufu. He is. He's just the cutest thing." Chopper smiled. "Don't think that makes me happy, bastards." He said as he smiled. "And I'm not a dog!"

"My bad, tanuki." Kai said and Chopper nodded. "Finally you get it." He let Robin pet him for a bit before he realized. "Wait! I'm not a tanuki either! I'm a reindeer!" Kai just chuckled. "Best dog ever. He's so funny." He said to himself as he walked off.

Just then a man landed on the ship. "I'm Masira and I'm the king of the salvagers! All the ships that sink in the water are mine to scavenge!" Kai looked at him seriously for a moment as if considering something. "You're a weird dog." He said as he looked at Masira.

"He's not a dog!" Chopper yelled out. Kai looked at him. "Obviously not. It was a joke. Do you think I'm stupid or something Chopper?" Chopper was shocked. Then why was he a dog? Was it all just a joke? "He looks nothing like you. How could he be a dog? Jheez Chopper you might need to touch up on some biology. You're supposed to be the doctor after all."

Chopper started crying in Robin's arms. "It wasn't a joke! He really thinks I'm a dog!" Chopper yelled out causing Robin to stifle a laugh. Kai was trying very hard not to let out a laugh as well. 'Chopper really thinks I don't know he's a reindeer. Wahahaha!' He thought.

Anyway, after bullying Chopper for a little longer the man gave the crew an eternal pose to Jaya. Everyone said their goodbyes and they set off for Jaya together.
