Life Of A Marine (Part 2)

[1192 words. Drop them power stones]

---------------

(Drake's Pov)

'Damn that bed was tough as nails.'

'But it gets the job done.'

I thought as I yawned. I got up from the bed to do some light stretches. I got a small room to myself so I didn't complain about the bed too much. I went out of the room to the ship's bathroom which everyone uses to freshen up. The only person with a bathroom in their room is the commander of the ship which is Admiral Sengoku.

After I brushed my teeth, take a shower, and put on new clothes, I went to the ship's dining hall where most of the marines were currently at. I took multiple plates and grabbed whatever was on the menu.

30 Minutes Later

I was currently at the ship's training area. It wasn't a big room but enough to get some form of training done. The room was around 200 square feet wide so big for me to swing around my sword.

There were some weights in the room as well. Luckily for me, no one else was in the room as they were still eating or were in their posts. As I was swinging Morgan around trying to reach new mastery in my sword skills, I heard someone open the door and walk into the room. Surprisingly it was Sengoku who walked into the room.

" Sengoku-san what are you doing here?" I asked as I stopped swinging around my sword.

Sengoku took off his coat and his suit leaving only his t-shirt on. " I haven't moved my muscles in a while other than punching the Sea King. So I figured I do some weights before we arrived at Marineford."

Sengoku said to me as he started lifting around 800 pounds weights with no issues. I went back to sword training as I ignored that Admiral next to me.

" Put more speed into your attacks."

" Don't hold your sword so tight."

" Don't waste so much movement on useless actions."

Sengoku corrected my actions as he kept lifting weights. He wasn't watching my actions but rather sensing what I was doing with observation haki.

" Sengoku-san you seem quite knowledgeable about swordsmanship. Were you at one by any chance one?" I asked him since that way he was explaining my mistakes made me think that.

And things so far aren't exactly have been following the manga. So anything can change from the show. So I decided I would count on the major arcs not changing.

" I have some experiences on using swords in my younger days. But my experiences mostly come from fighting master swordmen." Sengoku said to me as he dropped the weights he was lifting to the ground.

Boom!

The weights created a loud sound as they landed on the ground. It didn't cause any damage as the room's floor was enhanced with iron and some seastones as well.

" It seems like your arm has fully healed?"

Sengoku asked me as I explained to him since I was born, my body would always heal faster than the average person.

" Seems like your body's regeneration is similar to that of a zoan," Sengoku said to me as we noticed the ship moving faster. And that there was wind and waves again.

" It looks like we just sailed past the calm belt."

" And as for why that ship suddenly got faster is due to the Tarari Currents. "

Sengoku explained what the currents are and how they are formed as he told me about the gates of justice.

The Gates of Justice are three massive structures that are each located at the Marine Headquarters, Impel Down, and Enies Lobby. They resemble large gates built into the air with the symbol of the World Government on them.

They are built in a triangle formation that forms a water current called the Tarai Current. The purpose of these gates is to allow easy travel for Marines between the three respective places they are located in. Beyond the gates is a massive spiral water current that is in between the three locations.

By riding this current, the Marines are able to travel much faster to these locations than they would normally. Traveling normally through on this current while the gates are closed however would simply force any ship to pass on by the locations due to the current. When the gates are open, the current is let in and any ship can enter its destinations with ease

One Hour Later

We were currently standing in front of the ship since Sengoku wanted me to the gate of justice that's guarding marineford.

" Woah, that's impressive," I said to Sengoku as a massive gate built into the air with the symbol of the World Government appeared in my sights.

" Indeed, still of the most impressive things, I have seen even after seeing the wonders of the world," Sengoku said to me as the gate opened up giving us access to Marineford.

Six Minutes Later

' So this is Marineford.' I thought as the battleship docked into one of the island's ports.

" This is the heart of the marines and as such is the most important marine base in the whole world," Sengoku said to me as we disembarked from the ship. Sengoku told me about its history and just durable that island is due to the materials it's made of.

Marineford is a crescent moon-shaped island that is composed completely of bricks and steel, with cannons on the edges. At the back of the island, standing large, tall, and proud is the Marine Headquarters building.

" What's up with the long line?" I asked Sengoku as I pointed to a line with people waiting for something. They were around 70 people in total ranging from 15-20 years old that I could see.

" Oh good, we made it in time for enlistment. Brat, get in the line to get enlisted in the marines. And for your assigned training camp." Sengoku told me as I walked to where the end of the line was.

" HEY, GET OUT OF THE WAY." I heard someone yelled at me as a girl around my age crashed into my back making me fall to the ground.

" Sorry about that, I was in a rush." The girl apologized to me as she helped me stand up again.

"The name is Gion."
