Chapter 24: A Stowaway?

"Should I come back later? It looks like you two are flirting." Maria appeared and she was hauling barrels of booze.

"Haaa? Come sit your ass down. Don't be silly." Tyr rolled his eyes and he made a fire because it was cold as hell.

"So? Tell me more about your brothers!" Yamato excitedly asked again.

"Well, how about I tell you about the time I took them hunting? I love sea king meat you see?" Tyr laughed.

"You took them hunting? For sea kings?" Maria thought he was insane.

"Eh, they turned out fine." Tyr started telling them about Luffy and Ace.

"Guhahaha! Ace sang about pizza and pasta?" Yamato laughed her ass off with Maria.

"Well, he was already in too deep. His pride was on the line. Though I think he definitely made a fool of himself." Tyr chuckled.

They were merry, with alcohol in their system.

Tyr then decided to ask about the shackles on Yamato.

"Hey, Yamato. Why are you chained up like that?" Tyr looked at it and her expression suddenly soured.

"It's all Kaido's fault. These... I can't explore the seas because of this. They're made of seastone and have explosives in them." Yamato frowned.

The two just listened intently. "Ever since I saw Oden's execution. I was moved by his bravery and tenacity. He was to be executed by my old man."

"But! He held his retainers above his head while he was being boiled alive in oil! Still, he didn't back down." Yamato remembered the legendary hour.

In which Oden lifted his retainers above him for a whole hour so they can be spared.

"Then, I found his travel records. The adventures he went on to travel to the ends of the grand line!" Yamato yearned for something just like that.

"I envy you and your brothers. You even got out of Mary Geoise in order to be free. But these, these stupid chains will explode when I go too far from Onigashima!" Yamato hit it with her club.

But seastone is known to be one of, if not the strongest material in the world.

"Hmph, I'm actually training to be a swordsman. Did you know? The best among them can choose what to cut?" Tyr explained to her.

"Once I learn how to cut things without harming your arm, I'll come back and take those off of you." Tyr grinned at her.

Yamato went silent and then beamed at him. "Sure! I'll wait for you!"

"Heh, after all. That's my dream, for everyone to live freely, peacefully. And I will definitely make it true." Tyr looked at the skies.

"The sexual tension here is off the charts." Maria teased them and Tyr deadpanned at her.

"I might be eight foot tall, but I'm still a kid you know? It's just not obvious." Tyr rolled his eyes.

"Eh? How old are you then?" Maria asked and Tyr raised up seven fingers.

"R-really!? But you're so strong!" Yamato was shocked and Maria couldn't believe it.

"Then I guess we can wait until you're fifteen." Maria shrugged and Tyr raised a brow.

He started sweating. 'I might turn into a victim.'

"Hey, Tyr..." Yamato twiddled her fingers together with a blush.

"Yeah?" He got nervous. "Say, when I get off this island when you come for me. How about we sail together? You, me, your brothers."

"Oh, that? Sure! It will be much more fun." Tyr smiled.

Yamato hugged him tightly and she was all smiles.

They then continued drinking through the night.

Maria passed out already even though she was much bigger than them. "Hey, Tyr. How about your adventures?" Yamato asked about his personal ones.

"My adventures huh? I still don't have much because I'm hiding from the world government. But do you know Garp?"

"The hero of the marines? Said to be on par with the pirate king?" Yamato nodded.

"Well, I actually trained under him. He used to beat the shit out of me so I can learn haki." Tyr laughed.

"He blindfolded me and hit me with a stick so I can learn observation haki." Tyr smiled at the memory and Yamato laughed.

"I can see it already." Yamato imagined it and she chuckled.

"I have friends that I saved from slavery too. Hancock, Sandersonia, and Marigold. But it's too dangerous for them to come with me. Especially due to these." Tyr pointed at his wings and flame.

"I'd imagine... They'll definitely get intel about you easily with those standing out." Yamato nodded.

"So I'm like them huh?" Yamato grinned and Tyr tilted his head.

"You set them free, just like how you will do so to me in the future." Yamato pointed at her shackles.

"Ahhh, yeah. I took off their brands too. Maybe I should call myself the liberator or something?" Tyr laughed with her.

"Hey, can I get some nail clippings or hair from you?" Yamato asked of him.

"Ahh, for a vivre card?" Tyr took out his vivre card and tore a piece of it for her.

"Ohhh." Yamato took it carefully and looked at it like it was treasure.

"Wanna know more about what I did?" Tyr asked her and she grinned.

"Un! Tell me everything!" Yamato wanted to learn as much as she could.

"Well, there was also this one time that I trained under another admiral." Tyr continued his stories and they drank further into the night.

Their laughter, heard all throughout their time together.

In the morning, Tyr woke up with Maria and Yamato clinging to him.

"So warm..." Maria had a tight grip on him. "Damn, I never thought I'll be turned into a heat pack." Tyr sighed.

He then pried the two of them off of him and stretched.

"I guess a little breakfast wouldn't hurt." He flew towards amigasa to get some meat.

He then returned to Yamato's corner of the island and started cooking it.

"Hngh? Hoh? Breakfast for us? You're really out for my heart, aren't you?" Maria smirked at him and he rolled his eyes.

"Come on and wake up Yamato. She'll be hungry for sure." Tyr ordered.

She then pouted. "You favor Yamato too much."

"Well, she's more genuine." Tyr fired back and Maria was sent reeling.

"Tyr... Can I ask for a favor?" Maria looked at him seriously for once.

"What?" Tyr raised a brow and she took a deep breath.

"I... I want to get off the island. I don't want to work for Kaido anymore." Maria furrowed her brows.

"What happened to he took you in?" Tyr said sarcastically.

"Shut up and listen... I know you don't particularly like me. But I don't want to continue anymore. I was blinded by the fact that he saved me from persecution. But now, I want to walk my own path." Maria said with conviction.

They stared at each other, eye to eye for a solid minute.

"I see, then I accept. You go tell Yamato about it though, I don't want to see her sad face." Tyr sighed as Yamato would definitely be sad when they have to leave.

"Sure, I will." Maria nodded and she woke up Yamato.

"Yamato, I'll be going with Tyr." She said plainly and Tyr facepalmed.

"Huh, wha?" Yamato looked around groggily. "I said I'm eloping with Tyr." Maria repeated.

"No, she said she will be coming with me." Tyr corrected.

"Wha? Really!? Must be nice." Yamato got depressed a bit and Maria had a smug smile on her face.

'Gah! She tricked me...' Tyr glared at her. "Don't worry Yamato, I'll definitely come back to get you." Tyr smiled at her and she nodded.

"Well, you promised." Yamato nodded and she got distracted by the food.

"Come on, sea king meat is out of this world." Tyr put a piece in her mouth and Yamato screamed at how delicious it was.

"How about me?" Maria opened her mouth and Tyr rolled his eyes. He then shoved a thick piece in her mouth.

Maria almost choked and she glared at him. "Delicious, right!? I can understand why you would eat that much in one bite!" Yamato smiled innocently.

'Heh, two can play at that game.' Tyr had a smug expression.

After they finished eating, Tyr looked at Yamato.

"Yamato, we need to leave." Tyr informed her and she blinked.

"Huh? Why?" Yamato was reluctant to let them leave.

"The beast pirates are definitely on their way back. The goons must've called for them already." Tyr explained.

"Ahhh, that's true." Maria nodded and it was only a matter of time.

Maybe even just a couple of more hours. As Kaido can fly with his devil fruit.

"Then... I'll wait for you, Tyr." Yamato looked at him with a beaming smile.

"Oh! Count on me." Tyr ruffled her hair. "Hey! Stop messing with me!" Yamato tried to get payback, but Tyr pinched her cheek and his limbs were longer.

Tyr stood up and he started flapping his wings. Maria held on to him and Yamato just stared at them.

"Yamato!" Tyr called out to her before they went too far.

"I'll come back to take my vivre card from you!" Tyr started to cruise in the air.

Yamato ran to the edge of her cliff and she raised his vivre card.

"Let's meet again and explore the world! Tyr!" Yamato smiled as she panted.

"You better not slow me down! I'm going to be super strong when we meet again!" Tyr shouted as he flapped his wings and flew over the horizon.

"I'll be strong too! Hahaha!" Yamato smiled as she waved his vivre card. The sun, slowly rising.

Meanwhile, Maria saw the direction they were going.

"Huh? Why are we going to Kuri?" Maria asked.

"My boat's there, I don't wanna leave it. The thing's super expensive you know?" Tyr chuckled and they arrived at Kuri's beach.

"Can that handle me?" Maria winced as she saw the boat. "That's what I said." Tyr laughed and Maria deadpanned at him.

"That was lame as hell." Maria rolled her eyes. "Whatever, just hang on to it or something. You can still sit on it." Tyr rolled his eyes.

"Fine, fine, make a lady eat seawater while sailing." Maria sighed.

"I'll lift the boat and fly towards the next destination anyways." Tyr snorted and he waited for Maria to sit on the deck.

It was like the perfect size for her as a chair. He then carried it and flew towards the direction of Egghead.

"Are we going to Elbaf?" Maria saw the direction they were going to. And the icy waters to the west means they were nearing Elbaf.

"No, I came here to the new world to save someone. We're going to a secret base of the world government." Tyr explained and they arrived at Egghead.

"Woah, this place has a tropical weather? Even though it's so dark and gloomy around?" Maria was shocked.

"The power of technology, come on. Let's greet our host." Tyr waited for the defense system of the lab to let them pass.

"An oni!?" Vegapunk saw Black Maria and he was shocked.

"That head is huge." Maria blinked at Vegapunk's head that was even taller than her..

"That's what she said." Tyr smirked and Maria ignored him.

"Where in the world did you get her from?" Vegapunk looked at Maria in wonder.

They captured Kaido back then, but they have never seen a female oni before.

"Hey, Tyr. This guy's creeping me out." Maria pointed at Vegapunk.

"Oh, don't worry. He'll just draw some blood from you. He won't experiment on you or something." Tyr shrugged.

"He better not." Maria raised a brow at Vegapunk.

"Ahem, he is correct. Can I get some blood from you?" Vegapunk asked politely.

"Uhh, okay." Maria agreed reluctantly and Tyr went towards Kuina's room.

"It's good that everything's coming along nicely." Tyr smiled as he checked her progress.

"So she's the one you talked about?" Maria looked at Kuina.

"Yeah, she broke her neck. And Vegapunk was the only one I knew who could help her." Tyr shrugged.

"You're a good person." Maria said out of the blue.

"I strive to be." Tyr grinned at her. He then explained to Vegapunk what happened in Wano.
