(Chapter 7) Ship's and training

{Water 7}

Roger blinked a few times before getting up from bed, it has been a week since they last heard of the rocks pirates' whereabouts

During that time they arrived at Water 7 to get a better ship built, he soon grabbed his prized straw hat before opening the door

'Good morning captain' said a tall man wearing a pair of dark sunglasses, this was non-other than scopper gaban rogers left hand

The crew was eating breakfast, as it was 7 in the morning, rogers grinned before he sat next to him

Soon their ship's cook Erio walked in and placed a plate in front of his captain, Erio is a slim man with medium-length, light-coloured purple hair and a black moustache. He has round eyes and a thin nose. He wears a dark-coloured shirt with a light-coloured flower pattern on it

'thanks erio!' said Roger before a dug in, as soon as he did so Raleigh walked in with a fish man following him

'Captain! I found us a shipwright that agreed to build us a ship' He declared, as soon as he did so the large fisherman introduced himself

'my name is Tom, I'm one of the best shipwrights water seven has to offer, it's an honour to meet you Roger' he said before shaking rogers hand

'the pleasure is all mine Tom' They soon sat down and started to discuss the ship's design, thankfully Roger was able to get his hands on an abundance of wood from the treasure tree Adam

Soon Tom started packing up his things and the blueprints to the ship, 'pleasure doing business with you Roger'

Roger just smiled and waved it off 'It's fine Tom either way you're keeping the rest of the wood, I have no use for it'

Tom soon left and the Roger pirates went back to doing what pirates do best Partying!

'Let's celebrate our new ship being built' said Roger, as he raised his sake bottle

'KANPAI!' the crew loudly shouted out before gulping down their sake

{shima no ryuu}

*swish*

Ryu stepped to the side the kaido swung his club and cracked the concrete below them

It has been 5 days since Minamoto started training both kaido and ryu, they were currently sparing as per usual in their schedule

Ryu woke up at 4 AM, ran up the mountain and back down while dodging traps set by his grandfather

At 5 AM he ate breakfast and took a half-hour break, and at 5:30 AM worked on refining his sword strikes till 8 AM

Kaido usually arrives between 8:30 AM till 9 AM so to pass the time he sits under a tree and tries to slice the falling trees with his wakizashi

And when Kaido arrives they spar until someone submits, falls unconscious or leaves the training grounds

'Stop dodging you coward!' screamed out Kaido as he swung once more at Ryu who just kept dodging

*Smack*

Ryu smacked Kaido across the face with his training sword mid-air and landed gracefully a few meters behind Kaido

Kaido snarled before dashing towards Ryu club in hand ready to strike, Ryu tried to dodge one more but was caught mid-air and flung outside the ring they were fighting on

Ryu was caught by Minamoto before he could hit the tree behind him, and then he declared 'The winner is Kaido'

'ORORORORORO!' Laughed out Kaido as he threw his club to the side and sat down panting heavily

Soon hisho entered the training area with a few canteen's filled with freshly squeezed orange juice

Both Ryu and kaido stood up before taking a canteen for themselves and drank them

'thanks lad- I mean aunty' said kaido before he waved and left back towards the forest to start training against the wild beasts of the forest.

Ryu just smiled and waved back soon heading towards the bathhouse to freshen up and get a new change of clothes

An hour later Ryu came inside as he saw his grandfather getting ready to leave, 'Jiji where are you going?'

Ryu asked as his grandfather put his sword to the right side of his Uwa-obi, I am heading into the capital to meet with the clan leader

As he opened the front door and walked out, Ryu allowed behind him asking 'can I come with you? I have never been to the capital'

Minamoto smiled before patting his head, 'Sure why not, but we need to stop at a few places before then' Ryu smiled and nodded as he trailed behind his grandfather

2 Hours of walking later they arrived at a weapons shop, 'Oh isn't this Masamune-san's blacksmith?' asked Ryu

The bell rung as soon as they walked opened the door, walking inside ryu was amazed with the wide selection of weapons present in the small shop

He soon looked at a display case that showcased a finely-crafted cutlass, it was his first time seeing a blade like this one

'Jiji what kind of sword is this?' he asked and before Minamoto could wander a voice came from the now opened back door that lead to the smith

'That there Ryu-chan is a cutlass, it's very popular among marines and pirates and rarely used by you samurai' Masamune soon walked in, a rag in hand wiping his hands

'Ah masamune-san its been a while' said Minamoto as he hugged the large man

'yes it has' now have you come for "That" blade?' Masamune asked, Minamoto chuckled before replying

'Yes is it Finished?' he asked, Masamune just sighed before saying 'No not yet, I'm still waiting for the sheath to arrive before I craft it.

Minamoto just nodded before asking 'Did you ask the old lady to craft the sheath' he asked raising an eyebrow

'yes she is one of the best at her craft' minamoto just smiled before looking towards ryu

'is there anything that caught your eye?' ryu just shook his head in the negetive, 'not really Jiji'

Minamoto chuckled then said 'I'll go and get that sheath for you, no need to let that old lady walk all the way over here just to deliver it'

Masamune just sighed as he went back inside the smithy 'Much appreciated minamoto-san' he said before closing the door behind him

Soon both ryu and Minamoto left and started heading towards the capital
