Surprising pity

Yixing helped to unpack the boxes and computers in the new apartment they had moved in. He, Chao, and the little guy called Yitian.

Yixing looked in the kitchen where Yitian unpacked kitchen appliances and food they bought. He was really smart, almost ill-looking. And given what Chao said, he probably was malnourished. Yixing didn't want to feel this, but he pitied Yitian.

Deep in thoughts, he heard his phone go off in his new room, so he went to get in. As usual, it was his father. Now praising him for following and befriending Chao.

Yixing looked out from the window and got lost in the memories from last week. When Chao came back to the dorms, he was grimly looking deep in thoughts, actually making Yixing curious about what had happened.

And Chao told him everything. Everything he had seen. After he left that night, Chao didn't listen to what Yixing said and Yitian had found him drunk, staggering around in the public.

Because he knew him, he had taken him home and let him sleep on his bed. In the morning, he even made breakfast for him. But something unexpected happened.

Yitian's mother came home and got really angry at him. She threw a glass at him that broke and cut Yitian's leg. So, Chao got him out of there. Now, Yitian had nowhere to go.

"So, I thought about buying an apartment. Moving out of the dorms would be easier. Will you go with us?" Chao asked and Yixing frowned, confused.

Why would Chao keep him by his side? Chao knew that everything he did, Yixing sent to his father. Basically, ratting him out.

"Why would you ask me that?" Yixing asked, confused. Like honestly, his mind couldn't wrap around that.

"Did it offend you somehow?" Chao asked, his brows raising. Not that he thought Yixing could be so easily offended. But Chao didn't expect him to be this surprised either.

"No, I… I just… You know I'm telling everything about you to my father. So why tell me to go with you? You could have escaped my surveillance." Yixing couldn't form his thoughts properly into sentences. He was so stunned. But Chao only grinned and laughed.

"Oh, yes, I know that. But I don't care. You are fun to be around and I know what messages you are sending him. And I don't care." Yixing shook his head, not getting it. He scratched his head and rubbed his face.

"What if I told him about Yitian?" Yixing asked, his brows still furrowed. And he finally got some response from Chao. Which made Yixing get his phone and open text messages to his father.

"If you do that, you can. But you will have the smallest room…" Chao said while maintaining his threatening gaze. Yixing laughed and wrote the message to his father and hit send.

"Done, then I will have the smallest room. When are we moving?" Yixing acquired back his cheerfulness and Chao groaned.

"We don't have lessons on Friday, so what about Thursday?" Chao asked, and Yixing nodded.

Yixing was woken up from his memory-travel by another message. The vibrating phone scared the hell out of him. But the message made him happy. One more praise.

"So, you are playing wifey?" He came out of his room and shouted again, forgetting the fear Yitian had.

But he was reminded once again, when he saw how Yitian jerked and started to tremble. Chao came from behind Yixing and slapped his head.

"I told you to be calmer," Chao said and went behind the counter to calm down Yitian. Yixing felt really bad. He naturally tried to be cheerful and positive, but he was obviously too loud for Yitian to take it.

"I'm so sorry. Bear with me I promise I will stop getting scared of you. Once I will get to know you better. It's just, you are the bullying type." Yitian smiled at him, and Yixing was stunned.

The smile really brightened Yitian's ever sad-looking face. It surprised Yixing so much that he completely missed the note about him being, or looking, like a bully. He laughed for himself and shook his head. Funny little fella.

"It's okay, no worries. Take your time. You are right, I look like them. But no need to be scared of me," he found himself saying and really meaning it. Because he might have looked a bit rough, but he never had bullied someone.

And again, Yitian looked like a funny guy. And Yixing loved funny and amusing people. They kept him positive and above the water surface, to keep going and not to drown.

"No, it's okay. You can go and set up the computers." Yixing heard Yitian say and found himself being dragged towards big, but honestly, really cool-looking machines.

They finished setting them up and after they finished, Yixing sprawled himself on the couch while Chao turned the computers on.

"Get your lazy ass here and help me," Chao shouted, and they both jerked themselves. They looked Yitian's way, expecting another panic attack, but nothing happened.

Yixing just shook his head. It was impossible how biased Yitian was. His shout and Chao's were almost the same volumes.

Yixing's phone chimed again, and he frowned. It was the ringtone he used only for his father. And it was really unusual for his father to write to him so much in one day. Once he read the message, he knew why.

"So, I'm going to go out, have some drinks and girls. Chao, are you coming?" Yixing asked Chao if he wanted to join him again when they finished dinner that Yitian cooked. Which by the way was so delicious, Yixing couldn't believe it was done by someone so cutely looking.

"Nah, go on alone. I promised Yitian to try out the game with him," Chao said, got up, and sat in the gaming chair. Yixing looked at him in disbelief. Before he was partying with him every day, dragging him from bar to bar, getting drunk. Now, he would rather play a game? He smirked to himself because he knew what was going on,

"Since your wifey showed up, you completely stopped drinking with me… why? I'm lonely…" Yixing walked up to him and joked. Half. Of course, he saw the difference in Chao's behavior towards Yitian.

And it pained him a bit that he was out on the second line. Even more when Chao shot him a shut-up look. So, Yixing raised hands in surrender and went to drink alone.

Drinking… more like fulfilling another wish of his father.

Honestly, I found that Yixing really doesn't have it easy... And I pity him a bit more than Yitian or Chao because no one really knows him... T_T
