Chapter One

Ophelia's POV

I sat cross-legged on my bed, my room bathed in the soft morning light that filtered through the curtains. I couldn't shake the persistent images that invaded my mind, leaving me desperate for answers. Visions of people, places, and fleeting memories danced before my eyes, teasing me with their fragmented pieces.

Running my fingers through my dark, curly hair, I furrowed my brow, trying to make sense of it all. Those images held secrets I couldn't comprehend, and they consumed my thoughts. I had always been drawn to the enigmatic and the unexplained, and these flashes held a mysterious allure.

Before I could delve further into my musings, my sanctuary was abruptly invaded as my friends, Laura and Stella, barged into my room. Their vibrant energy filled the space, momentarily distracting me from the weight that hung heavily on my shoulders.

"Morning, Leai!" Laura greeted cheerfully, her eyes scanning the room. "What do you feel like having for breakfast today? Pancakes? Omelettes?"

Stella, with her wild mane of red hair you can't miss from 1000 feets away, chimed in, "Or maybe some avocado toast? I heard it's all the rage now."

I mustered a smile, grateful for their efforts to brighten my day. "I'm not really hungry right now. You two go ahead. I'll join you later."

Laura's concerned gaze locked onto mine,her green eyes seem like they are about to pierce into my soul,her brows furrowed. "You've been in your mood lately, Ophelia. Are you sure everything's okay?"She never seems to want to shorten my name like Stella does and I love it

A heavy sigh escaped me as my gaze drifted to the mirror that stood across from me and just stared at the brown curls on my head that looks more like an eagles nest than anything,I need to get this tamed.

Laura and Stella exchanged understanding glances, their expressions filled with empathy and curiosity they knew no response is a response when it comes to me.I get like this every week or two,it's been almost like a routine.They had been with me through thick and thin, unwavering in their friendship.

Stella placed a comforting hand on my shoulder. "You know we're here for you, right? Whatever you need, we'll help you find the answers you seek."

Grateful for their support, I nodded, determined to face this journey with my friends by my side. Let's have breakfast together," I said, my voice infused with determination. "And afterward, let's go shopping" I said trying to make the perfect doe eyes,they both laughed "Sure Leai,but just a few dresses" Stella said standing up from my bed and heading towards the door "Now will you put on your smiley face and come have breakfast with us" Stella continued and Laura dragged me by my arms as we walked to the sitting room.We sat down and watched The Mask for the 10th time this month.

We gathered in the cozy sitting room, plates of delicious food spread out before us. I raised an eyebrow, curious about our plans for the evening.

"So, any plans for tonight, ladies?" I asked, trying to mask the longing in my voice.

Stella grinned mischievously. "I can't join tonight. I have a date with Darren."she grinned from ear to ear

Laura's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Xaden is also coming over to watch a movie with me."

I forced a smile, happy for my friends but feeling a twinge of envy. As we ate and laughed, I pushed aside my own emotions, cherishing the warmth of our companionship.

The doorbell interrupted our conversation, and Laura's face lit up. "That must be Xaden."

Stella nudged me playfully. "Looks like we're both leaving you behind tonight. I'm sure you'll find something exciting to do."

I smiled, grateful for their concern. Deep down,I really wanted my own person.Don't get me wrong I've had relationships in the past but it didn't quite work out how I would want "You could call Jaxon,you know he'll definitely accept your invitation"Laura said heading towards the door"Besides you need to get Laid anyways,you're probably in those moods of yours because you've not gotten laid in how long?" She says as she stands on her tip toes to plant a kiss on Xaden's lips "Hey Girls" Xaden says still looking at Laura and grinning and I mean who wouldn't.She's 5'9 and has the body that was probably created to make men fall,her hair is styled in a short wavy length,she looks beautiful-she always looks beautiful.Stella's phone rings and she hurries towards her room to go pick it up,we can bearly hear her and a minute later she's out "Darren says he'll be here to pick me up in 15 minutes,I haven't even picked out what I'll wear" she yelled running back into her room.Thirty minutes later and shes dressed and on her way out the door to see Darren standing with flowers "Hey Beautiful" he says leaning down to kiss her"Hey Ladies"he says looking back up at I and Laura,we greet back and he's out the door with Stella while Laura is setting up the living room for her movie night,so it's just me and my thoughts-Again
