Knock knock

The remaining cleaning drones came in with their headless extremely stick-figure like bodies and chest area projecting an emote of what seem like a war cry, courtesy of Kat.

Their cleaning tools were retrofitted to either spray acidic substances or throw cleaning canisters that appear to be makeshift grenades.

They were alongside Dean as he used his telekinesis to send debris towards the enemy group. He targeted the fiends as their Esper abilities were more threatening than the husks' bone blades. The drones with acidic sprays mainly targeted the husks, the sprays were like water hoses but more precise to avoid splash damage on Dean.

The acidic sprays were mostly used on the husks' limbs to soften them up for their blunt tools to break apart their limbs, and as for the fiends, the sprays were aimed for their face or more specifically their eyes.

The fiends so far seem to not feel pain or at least ignore it as observed by Kat for the past hours of Dean fighting them. So Kat decided to focus the sprays on the husks, and target the fiends' eyes if possible.

Makeshift grenades, on the other hand, weren't as strong as modern grenades but they still serve their purpose of scattering the fiends in the backline, just enough to lay off some pressure on Dean.

The backline being disrupted allowed Kat to activate the 3rd turret popping out of the ceiling and shooting projectile bullets. Even in the 26th century, humanity was still using projectile bullets as their main armaments as they were reliable to continue firing without the need to expend excess power like the railguns.

The turrets focused on the backline fiends as they were the range users, Kat set the targeting for the heart or head with a heavy heart as willingly causing violence went against her nature. Causing harm for Kat was like forcing a cow or herbivore to consume too much meat making them feel sick to their stomach, that was what Kat was feeling in her very code.

Nevertheless, the pink digital girl clenched her and provided suppressing fire allowing for Dean and the cleaning drones to do their work. As this was happening, Kat ordered the few remaining hover Roombas to target the densest clusters of fiends and husks.

BOOM!

BOOM!!!!

BOOOOOM!!!!

The few remaining hover Roombas were able to sneak through under the chaos and detonate into the thickest clusters of enemies they could reach before being discovered.

Dean's insides shook a little because he was closer to the shockwave, but he ignored the feeling and continued chopping through the fiends in front of him.

Swish

He cut through a large bulky fiend while dodging to the left avoiding a glaive aiming for his back. Dean used his power to 'add weight' to the blade as it finished its swing adding more momentum than the user expected and caused them to stumble. As their stance was momentarily broken, Dean came in for a head decapitation.

This...

This was the third time another fiend tried to sneak attack him in this long fight as Kat trusted Dean's combat skill enough for him to handle an obvious sneak.

Regardless it seems that the fiends aren't dying fast enough as the makeshift grenades are rapidly dwindling, acidic sprays were useless against them unless it targeted their eyes, and Kat set the turret to target a new enemy type that entered the battle through the vents.

Tak Tak

BANG! BANG!

The crawlers were coming in to attempt to turn the dead fiends into husks, but Kat wasn't letting any turn under her watch. The battle itself was too heated for Dean to focus on dismembering the fiends after killing them, and there were too few grenades to blow at least the legs off the lying corpses.

Seeing this, Dean used more of his telekinesis to lift the dozens of fallen weapons and target the fiends completely ignoring the husks whom were preoccupied with the cleaning drones.

"Shit the virgin nerd is beating us"

"Are we gonna die like this?"

Some of the fiends notice the tide was turning against their favor, it appeared to Dean that their morale might be declining but...

"Hahahahaha, we get to die a violent death"

"The ********* is coming for you McLovin, you better kill us quicker hehehe"

He was mistaken as their insanity consumed their fear and overloaded it with anger and madness. Sadly, he couldn't make out what the 2nd fiend was saying as the explosions and gunfire gotten louder around that part.

With renewed fervor, the remaining half dozen fiends charged at Dean ignoring their personal safety....if they had any.

First few died immediately, but the last few were more resilient to Dean's barrage of random weapons.

One of them had stonelike skin, one had wind manipulation, and the last can redirect any projectiles thrown at them by slightly changing their direction.

The 3rd one was strange but their Esper ability was a weaker form but just strong enough to place them in the 2000s like the other 2 since Kat just read their ranking and abilities.

She didn't know their current stats as they were artificially enhanced by whatever turned them into fiends.

[Dean, let me help]

"No I got this, continue what you were doing."

Dean declared as he continued sending projectiles and charged towards the 3rd fiend since their powers only affects projectiles strangely enough. The fiend attempted to block the incoming attack with her mace, but Dean quickly lowered his swing and-

Swoosh

SPLAAT

-separated her torso from her bottom with one powerful swing.

Kat continued her barrage on the swarm of crawlers attempting to convert the dead fiends into husks. The few remaining cleaning drones were still holding on with the grenadiers already gone by suicide bombing with their last makeshift grenades.

Whenever possible, Kat would target the husks' legs to slow them down with the lone turret.

Meanwhile, Dean just finished off the wind manipulator as their power was on the weaker side compared to other more powerful wind manipulators, so he simply overwhelm them with projectiles as he went in for the kill. He looked to his left to see the stoneskin fiend and decided to change tactics.

Dean sheathed his sword and grabbed a mace off the ground while using his telekinesis to lift the few blunt melee weapons that he sees.

The mace in Dean's hand had a little gravity booster attached to the handle allowing for the mace to increase its weight when swinging downward adding more damage per swing.

He gave it a few swings as Dean made eye contact with the last remaining fiend and charged forward while sending the few floating weapons as distraction.

The stoneskin fiend only had gauntlets equipped so he did his best to block the incoming attacks or dodge them while trying to keep an eye on Dean.

Funny enough, the fiend refuses to retreat and instead meet Dean's silent challenge as he prepare to meet the mace with his fist. Smirking, he punched forward as Dean got near....but Dean swung downward diagonally and enhanced the swing with both the gravity booster and telekinesis.

CRACK!

There was a loud cracking noise as the stoneskin had a spiderweb-like crack on the knee area then it fell apart as the kneecap also met the mace shattering it completely. With a shattered kneecap, the fiend grunted and fell on one knee giving an opening for Dean in that moment.

CRACK

Dean swung up with no enhancements meeting the fiend's stone chin temporarily stunning him leaving his face to look upward at a rapidly descending mace.

CRACK!!!

SPLAAATTTT!!!

This time, Dean used both enhancements and let gravity do all of the work completely obliterating the fiend's face even with the stone skin as protection. The whole fight with the stoneskin fiend ended in one second once Dean swung downward toward the kneecap.

Blood and bits of brain matter got on Dean, but he couldn't pay attention to it as there were still husks moving around. The last of the cleaning drones fell as Dean finished the last of the fiends off.

'Just a dozen standing husks left....shouldn't be a problem if I don't waste my movement'

Dean thought as he pushed his glasses up as it self-cleaned off the blood and bits on the lenses, and he unsheathe his sword.

.

.

.

The last remaining husk had all of their limbs chopped off as Kat finished off the last crawler. The fight with the husks took about 10 minutes with the whole fight being slightly less than 30 minutes.

It was bloody and messy.

Kat was just about to congratulate Dean on the success but....

BANG!

BANG!!

The steel shutter on the main entrance was breached by an outsider.

"Did that janitor finally come out of hiding? Oh would you look at that it's Dean McLovin....shoulda known you'd sleep through our lovely pre-graduation party."

A familiar arrogant but demonic feminine voice came out of the mysterious figure shrouded by the outside darkness.

"Hmph, no matter I'll just beat you to a pulp and present your head to my lovely fian- I mean that knucklehead playboy"
