Opened up her heart

Ava decided to tell Mia honestly whatever she wanted to know, so she asked her lightly, "What do you want to know?"

"First tell me, who was that man just brought you to the hospital. He looks really familiar with you?" Mia decided to ask the easy question first.

"Well, he is an old friend and also my cousin's department head at the school," Ava said truthfully.

"A Friend?"

"Does he have a girlfriend?"

"I don't think so."

"Then will you introduce him to me? I think he is very handsome."

"Sure, no problem," Ava said with a smile. Obviously, Ava didn't mind if they started to date, Ava regarded Sam just as a friend.

Mia pouted and said, "Forget it, I don't want it, even a blind could see that he likes you." Mia thought they were secretly dating or something. But through Ava's reaction, it was clear that she didn't see him that way.

"Mia, don't talk nonsense," Ava said embarrassingly.

"Alright Second question, where do you live?" Mia asked seriously.

Ava was hesitating thinking about how to answer that question. Should she tell Mia about her and Oliver's live-in conditions? What if Mia thinks low of her and hated her after knowing everything? Would she lose another friend? And what would she tell her, she didn't know herself when Oliver will change his mind again and stop her from leaving, although he promised he would let her go after the agreement ends but last night she also told him that she wouldn't leave until he wanted her to. Everything was so uncertain.

Seeing Ava was silent for a while Mia understood that things were not that simple. She didn't want to force her to say something she didn't want to, so she said in an understanding tone, "Ava, if you don't want to say it, then you don't have to. I'm asking you because I am worried about you. I just changed your dressing and saw the wound on your wrist. Why did you try to cut your wrist?"

Ava felt guilty, she had such a great friend who was worried about her so much, how could she keep lying to her. So she decided to tell her everything. Everything from the day she met Oliver till now.

However, Ava still chose to avoid a few incidents like Oliver's plan to murder Michael Jones and the casino incidents. Those are too violent things to talk about and Ava didn't want to scare Mia by telling her how brutal Oliver was. After all, Mia likes Oliver and she didn't want Mia to look at Oliver differently because of her words.

After Mia heard everything, she stood there like a statue staring at Ava, she was too shocked to utter a single word.

"Mia, you ok? Say something." Ava asked worriedly.

Mia got back to her senses. "You mean you are currently living with Mr. Oliver Knight? The Oliver Knight? and at his house?" Mia asked as if she couldn't believe her ears.

"Yes!"

At first, Mia got a little excited thinking Ava and Oliver were living together then she remembered the rest of the story and got anxious.

"Ava what are you doing? How could you make such a deal with someone? This is the 21st century. Who does such things?" Mia asked with concern.

How could Mr. Knight treat her friend like that? If he liked her and tried to pursue her then she would bless them, after all, he was her Idol, however, he just took advantage of the situation and forcing her to live with him. She really felt pity for Ava.

"Mia, I know what you are thinking but I really had no choice. Don't you know who Oliver Knight is? He is too powerful and I don't want to do something that could destroy my family and my dad's business. I had to think about my family before I do anything reckless. Besides I couldn't deny that he did get my dad out of the prison. So I feel like I owe him." Ava said with a bitter smile.

"Ava, I am really sorry." Mia hugged Ava again and said in a choked voice. She really felt bad for her friend.

"Hey, don't worry about me, I'm fine." Ava smiled softly.

Suddenly something occurred to Mia and she asked "Ava, he uses protection during sex right?" What if Ava accidentally gets pregnant?

Ava sighed and said, "No, he doesn't."

Mia's eyes widen, "What? Then have you checked if you are pregnant yet? "

"Actually I am on pills. Since I started living with him I began to take them. I didn't want to take any chance regarding this." Of course, the last thing she wanted from this unwanted relationship was a child of him.

"Ava you are still very young, you know that taking too many birth control pills might harm your body and would create complications during a future pregnancy. You're a doctor, you know about all this."

"I know, but what could I do at this point. If I don't take them I might get pregnant." Ava said in the low voice. She was feeling very sad thinking about the mess she had made with her life and now she couldn't even see any way out from this.

Mia could feel Ava's sad mood so she decided to stop talking about this. "OK, don't worry, everything will be all right. Don't think about it too much and always remember no matter what I will be there to support you." Mia said firmly.

Ava was moved by Mia's thoughtfulness, she said softly, "Thank you, Mia. I am really lucky to have a friend like you."
