Oliver vs Sam

While Oliver was still in his deep thoughts, Sophia knocked on his door. Oliver immediately pulled back from all his thoughts and closed the file in front of him which was full of Ava's name on it.

"Come in." Oliver got up from his chair and walked to the sofa with a cold face.

"CEO Knight, Mr. Evan is here," Sophia informed and led Samuel into Oliver's office.

"Thank you, Sophia, you can go," Oliver said calmly.

Sam walked inside and looked around the office before looking at the cold man in front of him. He knew at some point he and Oliver would have to confront each other, looking at Oliver's extraordinary momentum Sam felt a bit inferior to him but he still wasn't willing to lose to him. So he looked at Oliver with firm eyes.

The two men were looking at each other without saying a word, the atmosphere around them became very awkward. Oliver broke the silence after a while and said to Sam, "Mr. Evan, please have a seat."

Sam sat down opposite Oliver but didn't start the conversation.

"Mr. Evan you're a smart man, so I won't go around with you about why I ask you to come here today," Oliver said seriously.

This was the first time Sam was talking to Oliver, face to face. However just looking at his attitude, Sam realized that Oliver was a very arrogant person. He couldn't understand how did Ava fell for such a cold person? She was so sweet and lively, a complete opposite to him, how does she even put up with him?

"I also like straightforward people Mr. Knight, so whatever you have in mind just say it," Sam said calmly, he didn't think he needed to be polite with him. He was not afraid of him.

"Fine, here is a check of 30 million. Stay away from my sister." Oliver's eyes stopped on Sam's face for a moment, then he pulled out a check from the tea table and placed it in front of Sam.

Sam laughed but didn't speak. He thought Oliver's behavior just now was kind of funny or maybe that's how all the rich people behave. To them, money is everything so they wouldn't hesitate to buy anything with money whether it was clothes or food from the market or someone's dignity.

After a moment of silence, Sam said with sarcasm in his tone, "Only 30 million? Do you think your sister is that cheap?"

Oliver's eyes narrowed slightly and his face got hard. "How much do you want?"

Sam looked at him indifferently, there was no fear in his bright brown eyes. In fact, he looked very confident at that moment. "Not a penny!"

"You don't need to pretend in front of me. If it's not money that you want then tell me what it is? I'll make it happened for you." Oliver said arrogantly.

Sam smiled and said calmly, "I'm satisfied with my life Mr. Knight, I don't need anything."

Oliver's jaw ticked seeing Sam's firm attitude, he didn't believe that there was anyone in this world who didn't want money and live a better and comfortable life so he was sure Sam either was trying to raise his value or he was trying to piss him off. He didn't offer him 30 million because he thought Erika was worth that much, he just thought Sam was not worthy of more than that. He was a simple school teacher, it will take him all his life to make that much money.

"I don't believe that you don't need anything, how about I give you a billion and in return, you will disappear from this city forever," Oliver said in a deep voice still looking indifferent.

"I said I don't want your money, what is a billion in front of love?" Sam said with a frivolous smile. Suddenly Sam was having bad ideas in his mind.

After Sam first met Erika, he found out she was Oliver Knight's cousin. So he didn't want to be friends with her, however, the girl was so persistent that he had no choice but to keep in touch with her. Later through day to day conversation with her, Sam found out that Erika was actually a very simple girl. He liked her personality and decided to be friends with her. He never thought of becoming more or hurting her. But now hearing Oliver he was really angry.

"Love? Are you kidding me? Do you think I don't know what's on your mind?" Oliver's face suddenly became sinister and his fierce eyes looked directly at Sam's eyes.

Oliver was certain Samuel didn't have any kind of feeling for Erika. If he didn't know Ava then probably he would believe Sam's words but now after talking to him, Oliver was even more sure that Sam's intention of being friends with Erika was not pure at all. The reality is really cruel and Oliver was afraid that Erika will be the one end up getting hurt if she fell on Sam's trap. He needed to protect his sister at any cost.

"And what do you think I have in my mind, Mr. Knight?" Sam said with a mocking smile.

"You think I don't know that you approached my sister just to get close to Ava?" Oliver said fiercely. He couldn't hold back his anger anymore. This man in front of him was targeting two important women in his life how could he keep his calm.

Hearing Oliver, Sam's eyes become gloomy. So this was the reason for the meeting today, Erika was just a cover. What Oliver actually wanted was to keep him away from Ava.

"I'm sorry to tell you this but that's not true. Ava and I have known each other since childhood. We don't need a third party to be in each other's life." Sam said with a smirk.

On the surface, Oliver looked really calm, but inside he was boiling from anger. Sam's "knew since childhood" deeply stirred Oliver. He was even more jealous of him now, moreover, this was the man she dreamt of. Oliver was having a hard time controlling his anger and not throw a punch in Sam's smirking face.

"Aren't you being a little overconfident about you and Ava?" Oliver said with a cold smile.

"Oliver Knight, How much do you know Ava? Do you know anything about her painful past? Do you know what she likes the most of the places she likes to visit? Do you know her favorite color, her favorite flavor of ice crème, her favorite food, or movie? Did you know how she was when she was a child? You don't know anything, but I do!" Sam's gentle face suddenly become hard as he asked the questions, to Oliver confidently. He knew every little thing about her. He has been observing her and keeping it safe in his heart for years.
