Although Mia was a native here in this city but she was actually born in a small town not very far from here. Her parents still lived in that town because of her father's poor health and their difficult financial condition. Mia's family was living an average life but since her father diagnosed with a kidney problem, they have been living a hard life. Mia was trying hard to support her family and her father's treatment by earning and saving as much money as she could through working overtime most days. She spent less money on her food and living, in fact, she found a very cheap apartment of 30 square meters near the hospital just to reduce her cost of living.

Mia stopped browsing her phone and got out of bed, she was feeling very hungry because she didn't have much supper this evening. She didn't feel like cooking so decided to go out and buy something from the nightstand. On her way out, Mia's cell phone started to ring. She looked at it and smiled, it was her mother.

"Happy birthday, Mia." A kind voice came from the other end of the phone, it sounded very warm.

"Thank you, mom." Mia walked through the stairs step by step holding the railing. The community she lived in was very shabby. There were no lights in the corridor so Mia was walking carefully afraid that she would fall.

Mia's mother heard her footsteps over the phone and asked worriedly, "Mia, are you outside?"

Mia smiled and said, "Yes mom, I am going out to have dinner."

"Why are you going out so late?" After all, Mia was a girl and living alone. Going out this late was not safe for a young girl.

"Mom, it's only eight o'clock and I am not going out alone as it's my birthday my friend is coming to celebrate it with me." Mia made up a lie with a smile.

"OK then, go ahead and enjoy. I'll hang up now, take care of yourself and stay safe."

"I will mom. How is Dad doing recently?" Mia paused for a while.

Mia's mother sighed and said, "As usual."

Mia felt sad. She was so busy with her work that she couldn't visit her parents for a long time. If she knew this would happen then she wouldn't have come here to join Beijing Tiantan Hospital.

"Mom, within two years I'll get a promotion and raise. I'll be able to make enough money to bring you two here then." Mia said in a choking voice. She didn't know when her wish will come true but she still hoped her parents could live with her.

"No problem Mia, you look after yourself." Mia's mother said with a wide smile. Although she knew in her heart that this day might not come but she still felt happy and proud of her daughter.

After hanging up the phone, Mia walked toward the nightstand. At that time, a pair of sharp eyes fell on her. Mia suddenly felt something was wrong, she felt weird as if someone was watching her. Goosebumps rose all over her body. She turned back and saw a red Bentley was parked not far from her apartment. When she was talking to her mother she wasn't paying attention so she didn't notice it earlier. Obviously, in a shabby place like this, a red Bentley was looking very eye-catching.

Seeing Mia was looking at the car, a woman with long hair and wearing a pink suspender knitted dress with high pencil heel shoes got out of the car gracefully. She looked very rich and very elegant.

Mia stared at the woman for a while but she didn't recognize her so she turned and walked out to get food.

Seeing Mia was about to leave, the woman gently called out her name, "Excuse me, are you, Miss Easton?"

Mia froze in place for a moment, thinking who was this woman and how did she know her?

"Yes! What can I do for you?" Mia turned and asked confused.

This street was empty and very quiet. It would take another 300 meters to get to the nightstand. Mia was a bit vigilant toward the women in front of her. She couldn't understand what a woman like her had to do with her. She didn't know anyone from the upper class, except Ava.

"Miss Easton, if you are free can we please have a chat for a moment?" The women walked toward Mia with dignified and elegant steps.

"I'm sorry but I don't know you," Mia said twisting her eyebrows.

The woman could see Mia was very cautious around her, obviously, she didn't want to talk to her, but she could not give up. So she looked at Mia innocently and said softly with a smile, "Don't worry, I'm not here to harm you."

"Then what do you want?" Mia was having a strange feeling in her heart looking at the woman.

"As I said I just want to talk to you. There is a coffee shop nearby, let's have some coffee and talk. What do you think about that?" The women asked politely.

Mia thought for a while, there was nothing wrong to hear what the woman had to say and she was heading to eat anyway so why not. Mia looked at her and said with a serious expression, "OK."

Two of them came to the coffee shop and found a corner seat. As Mia was hungry she ordered a few snacks. The women looked at Mia and smiled kindly which left a good impression on Mia.

"You don't seem to have dinner tonight?" The women laughed and said sweetly.

"Well, I was a little busy this evening so didn't have the chance to have proper dinner," Mia said a little embarrassed.

Although Mia was very impressed by the woman in front of her for her kind nature but for some reason she had an uncomfortable feeling in her heart. She felt like the women had some ulterior motive to come to her.

"You must be wondering who I am and why I am here. Let me introduce myself first." The women said softly and then picked up the coffee cup gracefully to take a sip.

"My Name is Kiara Anderson."
