Her biggest regret

The doctor checked Sarah's leg, it wasn't anything serious so he wrapped the wound in a bandage and instructed her not to get it wet for few days he also prescribed some oral medicine for pain. Ava and Sarah thanked the doctor and left the hospital.

Ava took Sarah to her car and they were heading to Green Villa. Sarah suddenly said, "Sis do you know the women who just hit me was a celebrity?"

Like other teenagers, Sarah was also into entertainment news and gossips so naturally, she recognized Erika immediately after the accident but she didn't nag her like another fan. Sarah saw the way Ava talked to Erika and immediately understood that Ava didn't recognize the big star at all.

"Really? Was she?" Ava asked surprised. Although she thought Erika must be from a rich family but she didn't expect her to be a celebrity. She was very polite and not proud at all like the other stars.

"Of course, her name is Erika Knight. She was a child star and a rich second generation. She also does theatre now" Sarah said excitedly. Seeing Erika today her eyes were bright full of dreams for the future.

Ava was holding the steering wheel suddenly wrinkled her eyebrows thinking her surname was Knight. Was she somehow related to Oliver or his family? There were not many people in this city with the surname Knight. She was a bit curious but didn't ask anything else to Sarah about it.

Sarah Looked at Ava from the side and saw the tiredness on her face. She asked, "Sis, are you too busy recently? You look very tired."

"A bit, I had too many outpatients today. I guess I'm not strong enough to handle the pressure." Ava squeezed out a stiff smile but she was actually stressing over the thought of seeing her mother again. Last time their meeting ended up very badly and afterward she even didn't try to talk to her or clear out the misunderstandings. She thought it was better to let her mother come down first.

"Ava, why don't you quit the job at the hospital and join the company? That will certainly help uncle and aunty and also will be less stressful for you." Sarah frowned.

She was determined to join the company after her graduation and repay her uncle, aunty for their kindness so she also wanted Ava to take over the company. Being a doctor was too stressful.

"I studied medicine I don't understand business at all, I am afraid if I join the company it will run in the loss," Ava said laughing and joking but the bitterness in her laugh could not be hidden. She decided to be a doctor for a reason and worked very hard to become one. How could she give up her career now?

Looking at Ava's sad face Sarah understood why she wouldn't give up being a doctor. She sighed softly and said sadly, "Ava, it was not your fault you know that right? Why are you carrying the burden? Your dream was to be a pianist, not a doctor!"

"That's enough, Sarah. Don't talk about what you don't understand, I like this profession and no matter how tired I am, I will never give it up." Ava said resolutely.

Sarah didn't understand why Ava was being so stubborn about the whole thing. It was clearly an accident and what happened afterward was not her fault either but she wouldn't let it go. She was so determined to punish herself. Why did she have to bear this pain? Sarah felt frustrated but she couldn't do anything about it, after all, it was Ava's decision. So she sighed and apologized, "I'm sorry, Ava, I shouldn't have said that."

Ava now felt guilty for scolding Sarah. She didn't say anything wrong, it's true that it was Ava's dream to become a pianist but because of her own guilt she gave up her dream. It was the biggest regret of her life and that's why she never allowed anyone to mention it in front of her.

"Silly girl, I know you love me and want what's best for your sister but trust me I know what I want. OK?" Ava smiled and tried to convince her.

Sarah nodded and said, "OK."

"We are here, let's go inside." Ava jumped out of the car first, then helped Sarah to get inside the house.

The door was already open which meant Lily must have seen Ava's car. They walked inside the living room, Lily was there with a plate full of fruits in her hand.

Lily saw Sarah's injured leg and frowned, she put down the plate from her hand and hurriedly walked towards Sarah. "Sarah, What happened to you? How did you hurt your leg?"

"Auntie, I'm ok, I just had a little accident. It's nothing serious just a scratch. Ava already checked with the doctor." Sarah sat on the couch and said with a big smile.

Ava was right behind Sarah she helped her to settle down on the couch but didn't say anything, She was still very nervous around Lily.

"Alright then don't move around too much stay here and watch some TV, dinner will be ready soon," Lily said quietly she didn't even look at Ava.

She was hoping that Ava would explain everything to her but to her disappointment not only she didn't explain anything but also she was acting like she didn't do anything wrong. Which was making her even more upset. In fact, Lily tried to investigate Ava after she left that day but she didn't find anything which was making her more frustrated.

Seeing lily indifferent towards Ava she felt lost she wanted to tell her everything but she had already disappointed her mother enough now if she told her that she was in a live-in relation with a man to save her father that would probably break her mother's heart. She couldn't let that happen but she couldn't see her mother being so cold to her either "Mom..."

Lily didn't respond she walked out of the living room. Ava followed her and said, "Mom, please believe me I didn't do anything to let you down, just believe me this once. I will be back in a few days." Ava's face was full of grievances, she did it for her family but she could not tell them about it.
