Chapter 5: The Hunt Begin

The next morning, just as dawn broke, Langress looked in the mirror in the bathroom. He was still very sad and angry after Lancerlord's betrayal. Langress got angry and punched the mirror, his fist bleeding and Langress watched his face cracked in the mirror. Suddenly someone knocked on the door, it was Jonathan, he said:

"Langress, are you awake yet?"

Langress put on his shirt and replied:

"Yeah, I'm up. I'll be right out."

Langress opened the door and met Jonathan, he said:

"Good morning Jonathan, why have you come to see me?"

Jonathan replied:

"Today is your hunting day, I'll take you to the armory to prepare your equipment."

Langress said:

"So? Okay, let's go."

Langress accompanied Jonathan to the armory, where they passed the shooting range where several soldiers were training in shooting. Langress looked at the soldiers holding guns and aiming, he thought to himself:

"What are they holding?"

Arenyx went to Langress and Jonathan and said:

"Dear Father, where are you taking him?

Jobathan replied:

"Go to the armory, today Langress will go hunting."

Arenyx said:

"Father, it takes a long time for soldiers to hunt. He just joined and hasn't trained to join the hunter force."

Jonathan replied:

"But Langress is a special case, he doesn't need hunter training."

Arenyx said:

"But if he wants to become a hunter, he has to go through me. Boss Bryant has agreed to let me test his abilities. Besides, this idiot doesn't know what to do with a gun."

Langress replied:

"The what? Gung?"

Arenyx and several other soldiers laughed at Langress's pronunciation. Arenyx arrogantly said:

"Then Langress, show us what The World's Strongest Hybrid can do."

Langress was provided with a table with a variety of guns and ten shooting targets. Arenyx said:

"Use these guns and shoot all the shooting targets within three minutes. The higher you score you can become a hunter. No need to praise but my record is 90 out of 100."

Langress picked up the m16 and said:

"How do you use this?"

Langress accidentally pulled the trigger and tinnitus his ears. Arenyx laughed along with many others at Langress's clumsy, he grabbed the m16 from Langress's hand and said:

"Let me model for you."

Arenyx pulled the gun bolt and took aim. As the time counted down, Arenyx immediately opened fire on the shooting targets. He held the gun and fired like a gun without recoil. Arenyx's projectiles shoot quickly and hit all targets. The first magazine was fired in just ten seconds. Arenyx quickly reloads within 2 seconds and immediately fires again. He then put down the m16 with one minute left and used the Barrett m107a1 sniper rifle and hit all the heads of the shooting targets. At the end of three minutes, Arenyx put down his gun and his total score was 91 points. Arenyx arrogantly said:

"91 points, it just seems harder for you."

Langress now remembered all of Arenyx's gun moves, and confidently replied:

"Probably so."

Arenyx made way for Langress to shoot. Langress closed his eyes while everyone laughed at how ridiculous he was and Jonathan looked at him nervously. When the time was up, Langress immediately opened his eyes and activated the werewolf's yellow eye, which increased vision and speed. Langress grabbed the m16 and pulled the bolt. He immediately shot all of the shooting targets and didn't need to get into position. All the targets were shot down but only a minute had passed. Everyone was surprised with the lightning speed of Langress and Arenyx pissed off. Langress rather fired and reloaded so fast no one could see clearly. Langress put down the m16 and used the AWP sniper rifle and smashed all the targets. Time was up and Langress successfully achieveda total score of 100 points. Langress handed the AWP to Arenyx and taunted him:

"Perhaps I'm a bit slow. But for me these weapons are not worthy of my use."

Langress and Jonathan then continued on to the armory to the surprise of many soldiers and Arenyx's jealousy. Step into the armory, where it was a large arsenal with many people crafting new modern weapons, a few forging melee weapons for the hunt. They went to the weapon room where there were a lot of guns and ammunition, melee weapons like swords, axes, hammers... All weapons were engraved with crosses to purify vampires. Jonathan said calmly:

"You can choose whatever you want."

Arenyx came over and said:

"He only knows how to use a sword."

Langress dejectedly replied:

"Why do you keep following me? Want to assassinate me?"

Arneyx said:

"If that's the case, I'll be pleased to kill you."

Jonathan quickly intervened to stop the two of them before a scuffle broke out, he said:

"Calm down you two, don't forget you're on the same side. Nothing can be solved with violence."

Arenyx replied:

"Yes Father. Now listen Langress, I'll go with you hunting today to teach you some important things in the city first. Pick your weapon quickly."

Langress replied:

"I'll choose right now."

Langress looked over the range of weapons and then said:

"Jonathan, what is this?"

Langress took a pair of silver brass knuckles. Jonathan said:

"Silver brass knuckles, a weapon used to punch harder."

Langress put on brass knuckles and finger movements to test. He said:

"I'll take this."

Langress put the brass knuckles in the inside pocket of his jacket. Langress then put a few throwing knives on his coat and said:

"I'll need ranged weapons, throwing knives are always perfect."

Langress took a bag of holy water and hung it on his belt. And finally Langress took a silver sword, he said:

"I think adding this sword is enough, where's the scabbard."

Arenyx said:

"You want to bring that sword? So leave it here, we don't bring swords into the city so we have to disguise it with this."

Arenyx gave Langress a guitar case, and he said:

"Put my sword in this, how do I draw it?"

Arenyx replied:

"There's a red button on it, press on it and the top of the guitar case will open so you can draw your sword."

Langress put his sword in the guitar case and said:

"What will you bring?"

Arenyx replied:

"The Barrett m107a1, my favorite sniper rifle, two desert eagle pistols, some grenades and an mp5k submachine gun."

Langress said:

"It's no surprise. With me, there's no honor in the weapons you wield. Only a sword is a weapon worthy of ending an enemy."

Arenyx replied:

"You know, maybe in the old days because of your arrogance and confidence that killed all the Hybrids in those days. Wake up old man, vampires don't use those old-fashioned weapons these days. ."

Langress said:

"Then I don't care what they use. As long as their heads fall and The Betrayer's life is ours. Goodbye Jonathan, I'm going for the hunt."

Jonathan replied:

"Good luck Langress, may God help you."

Langress said:

"Keep that wish for you, I won't need or ever use it."

Langress and Arenyx then left the base and headed to New York City. Langress and Arenyx got into the car and headed to the city, Langress got bored so he said:

"Hey, are we the only ones hunting?"

Arenyx replied:

"There's another group of two and they're already ahead of us."

Langress said:

"So where in the city are we going to hunt vampires? Just go around, see any long-toothed guy and kill him?"

Arenyx replied:

"There have been vampires who gave up the battle and lived with the humans to suck blood and have an identity as a normal human. They call themselves The Insider. They have an underground city where there are bars or discos for them to drink and party. Predator vampires also go there often so we have to catch them to get information but the problem is that those places are hidden in the most hidden alleys of the city and we can hardly know exactly where they are. We also need the passwords of those bars to get in."

Langress said:

"How long ago was the Heroic faction founded?"

Arenyx replied:

"It's been three months."

Langress said:

"All those weapons, flying beasts made of metal, how come you've got so many in just three months?"

Arenyx replied:

"Although we call us the next faction of the New Hope faction, that is just a title. The Vatican formed the Heroic faction and sent us to America to fight the Predator faction. Everything was like a weapon or vehicles, the Vatican will provide all."

Langress said:

"Hmm, that makes sense. Does the king of this kingdom know about this war?"

Arenyx replied:

"This is a country not a kingdom. The US government has no idea about our activities."

Langress said:

"Ok, fine. But it's strange that you haven't found any information for three months yet."

Suddenly, Arenyx's phone rang, and he quickly called and said:

"What's wrong?"

The person on the other end of the phone replied:

"We have the address of an Insider bar. Will send the captain the address and password shortly."

On the right car window pops up a screen with a map of New York City. Arenyx looked at the map where the location was marked and said:

"An alley in Bleecker Street, we've passed it many times."

Langress replied:

"It's suspicious, let's go there."

Arenyx and Langress rushed there. After a while the two reached Bleecker Street and were looking around for the marked alley. Arenyx looked at the map while looking around and said:

"I don't see anything suspicious here, Bleecker Street consists of bars for people to party. There's never been a disappearance here. Insiders can't be here."

Langress replied:

"That's what you think, sitting from here I can smell blood."

Arenyx said:

"Your nose smells of cigarettes. Tell me where it could be?"

Langress replied:

"Look at that weird red shirt guy, he's a vampire."

Arenyx looked in the direction Langress pointed and at a man in a red hoodie, he said in curiosity:

"It's a hoodie. But he can't be a vampire, the sun's shining on him."

Langress replied:

"Since you weren't looking closely, I could clearly see that he was wearing something else to refract the light. An invisibility cloak. We just have to look at it from a different angle."

Arenyx was a little suspicious but he tried to see the person clearly from a different angle, he saw that he was wearing something fluttering and no one could see. Arenyx said:

"You're right, let's go with him. Langress... Langress?"

Arenyx looked to the side chair, but Langress had already gotten out of the car and was following the vampire. Arenyx got angry saying:

"Damn it!"

Arenyx quickly parked and followed Langress. Langress walked slowly and tracked down the vampire. Suddenly he turned to check, so Langress immediately pretended to be late for work and hurried ahead of him. The vampire didn't suspect anything and continued on to the Insider's bar. Because Langress was ahead of the vampire so he couldn't see behind him, he activated his Hybrid ear to increase his hearing and hear the smallest vibrations in a wide area. Langress heard the vampire whisper:

"Luckily no one followed me, here we are."

Langress heard him enter a certain bar so he stopped and turned to the back. There was a bar called Streamy Night and Langress caught a glimpse of that vampire going deep inside. Langress said arrogantly:

"Here you are."

Langress approached the bar just in time for Arenyx to catch him. Arenyx tired said:

"Where did you go? What is this place?"

Langress replied:

"Shhh, the vampire came in here."

Arenyx opened the map in the phone and said:

"But the location is in an alley."

Langress said:

"Probably a tunnel to the secret bar. I'll go inside."

Langress opened the door and entered the bar while Arenyx followed and turned the opening sign to closing. At this time, there were no customers, an employee came out and said:

"Hello, what I can hel..."

Before he could finish speaking, Langress pulled out a knife and stabbed the employee's left hand into the bar. He revealed his true form as a vampire and ferociously tried to bite Langress, but he grabbed his face and said:

"Take me to your place, now."

The vampire was in so much pain that he had to answer:

"Forgive me, I will take you right now."

Langress drew his knife and the vampire led them to the back of the bar, he opened the door to the staff room and said:

"Just go inside and read the password to the main bar."

Langress and Arenyx went inside, there was a tunnel going down. Arenyx looked at the map and said:

"That's right, let's go down here."

Langress and Arenyx went down the tunnel, then they passed through a long corridor that led to an iron door. Standing in front of the door, above it was a sign for the Bloody Lady bar. Arenyx knocked on the iron door, the person on the other side opened a small window and said:

"Password!"

Arenyx replied:

"There is no hell, hell is here."

Then the iron door opened and the security guard said:

"Welcome to the Bloody Lady Bar."

Langress and Arenyx entered the bar, there were hooks for vampire invisibility cloaks. Langress said:

"We arrive."

Langress and Arenyx were about to enter the main bar when a security guard stopped him, he said eloquently:

"Let me check if there's a weapon."

Arenyx hastily stuffed a pile of money into his pocket and said:

"We don't carry weapons, don't worry."

Security guard's name:

"Then please enjoy."

Langress and Arenyx entered the main dance floor and party place of vampires. Vampires were dancing and partying over colorful disco lights. The music was turned on vibrantly and passionately like fire. Some of the others were pinning someone down and sucking their blood like they were drinking whiskey. Some of them simply talked and enjoyed the party. Even the sex act and strip dances were going on in full swing. This was not a party but a wild orgy. Langress smiled excitedly and said:

"What an interesting party."

There was a person sitting in the corner of the bar quietly watching Langress and Arenyx.
