He looked back to see a gigantic part of the forest had been destroyed. A disappointed look crossed his face. Many of his targets were in that area and had been killed off, which did not please him. As Naruto looked back towards Orochimaru, who was now nursing his injuries, he noticed the burn marks on one side of Orochimaru's face caused by the fire. Meanwhile, in Konoha, the sensors were in a frenzy. Many appeared in front of Minato.

"Lord Hokage, we have sensed a gigantic use of chakra, even the Kyuubi's chakra was registered. It seems that somehow an enemy has infiltrated the exam," one of the sensors reported. Minato narrowed his eyes as Anko spoke up.

"Lord Hokage, I think it's Orochimaru," she explained her reasoning. Minato narrowed his eyes further.

"Do not worry, I will handle him," he said, rushing towards the Forest of Death using his Flying Raijin technique.

Meanwhile, Naruto was now in front of Orochimaru, who was panting hard but managed to regenerate his skin and was now healthy, though low on chakra. Orochimaru glared at Naruto, about to say something, but before he could, both of his arms were already flying into the sky, followed by his legs. Orochimaru could not understand what had happened. In front of his eyes, both his arms and legs turned into nothingness as purple energy surrounded them.

Naruto looked at him with an amused expression. "Now you look like a true snake. If only you had a tail. After all, snakes do not need arms, wouldn't you agree, Orochimaru?"

The utter hatred Orochimaru felt in his heart for this child, for putting him through such humiliation, was immense. He vowed that Naruto would pay for his crimes against him. Orochimaru's lower half turned into that of a snake as he slithered away. Naruto simply smirked at that. He then looked back to see that Minato had just flashed into the area. Minato looked around to find Menma, Naruko, and Sasuke unconscious. He looked around the area but saw no one else present.

Minato was relieved to see that they were alive. As he saw that, Naruto finally arrived at the tower. He was annoyed. He had already killed off many of the teams, but one of Konoha's teams managed to get away from him—Kurenai's team, which included Hinata and Kiba. He simply shrugged, thinking there would always be a next time. He entered the tower.

Eventually, Menma, Naruko, and Sasuke managed to make it as well. They found a dismembered arm holding a scroll, coincidentally the same scroll they needed. Other than that, they encountered no other teams in the Forest of Death, as if all the teams had disappeared into nothingness. They finally made it to the tower. Orochimaru was confident that Minato had sent some ANBU to keep an eye on Menma and Naruko to ensure they would at least make it to the tower; otherwise, his plans would have been jeopardized.

Upon their arrival, Minato was a bit worried. The teams that had made it included one team from Sand, Naruto's team, Kurenai's team, and that was all. He sent a signal to the rest of the competitors to bring the clan heirs. He hoped that nothing bad had happened to the clan heirs, as it would cause a lot of unrest. Menma and Naruko, having used the three-tailed chakra, did not remember anything. With Orochimaru present in the exam, things were not looking good for Konoha. He was just hoping the clan heirs would be able to make it; otherwise, the council would not be pleased.

Minato was not exactly happy and would have a lot of trouble on his hands. He sighed as he looked towards Naruto. He had given some teams the mission to eliminate Naruto, but there was no way they would be able to do anything to him with his speed. Despite their efforts, Naruto was still able to make it. Minato sighed again. With so few teams left, there was hardly a need for the preliminary exams, but he would have to conduct them for the sake of formality.

So, he announced the whole thing about teamwork and friendship between nations, and then the preliminaries began.

[Sorry for the short chapter. While I was cooking up the plot, my brain short-circuited, and I don't want to add anything that could ruin the story. I hope you all understand.]
