Pov Atsuchi
After unlocking the potential of biological manipulation, I had gained access to some truly powerful abilities.
Currently, I could biologically manipulate life and death, induce genetic changes, distort physical features in various ways, or even enhance biological functions.
Basically, I had a complete package of biological abilities.
However, even after acquiring these abilities, I encountered a crucial problem that would hinder my immediate progress.
Letting out an exasperated huff as I recalled this preposterous fact, I mull over the situation, wondering, "Did the universe conspire against me?" I silently ponder. To my astonishment, the crux of my limitations lay in the prerequisite of prior knowledge.
Yes, that's right. The only thing that limits me is prior knowledge. Basically, I could only use my abilities efficiently and accurately if I had the necessary prior knowledge. In other words, I would have to extensively use my "Self-study" ability, or rather, Biological Study, to expand my prior knowledge in a specific field. Only then would I obtain the necessary knowledge to manipulate a particular biological field.
Being a politician in my past life, I could see God's maneuvering, which basically aimed to limit my progress, indirectly delaying my strength and evolution by restricting my ability to knowledge.
When faced with this problem, I smirk mockingly because God had underestimated or overestimated me. Call it arrogance, but I firmly believe it's the latter case. If my ability had a spontaneous trigger based on desire, I would end up becoming the "God" of this Universe. Therefore, God limited my progress.
My ability itself is very strong, and I see that clearly. Even if it has some imposed limitations, I don't mind. Deep down, I enjoy achieving feats on my own, knowing that my future depends solely on my creativity and intelligence.
The feeling of freedom is transformative.
Anyway, after much contemplation, I devised a plan where I decided which ability I would grant myself. Since I'm still a student at the ninja academy, I shouldn't display too much power.
This would inevitably attract many curious eyes. Imagine that suddenly there's a student at the ninja academy with numerous abilities. What do you think would happen?
I don't have a favorable view of the high-ranking village authorities. Like the politicians in my past life, they are highly experienced in the art of manipulation and maneuvering. The ideology of the "Will of Fire" itself serves the purpose of mass irrational manipulation. It uses patriotism in children to influence and direct their future, whatever it may be.
I can't forget how Itachi was manipulated into killing his own clan. No one in their right mind would kill their own family unless they have a philosophy similar to that of Suzane von Richthofen.
So, I decide to grant myself biological abilities based on cognition. I intend to grant myself some abilities related to memory, intelligence, reasoning, and other functions.
I've always wanted to test the theory that we only use 10% of our brain functions. What could happen if I efficiently and consciously use 100% of my brain? Would I become like Lucy? Only time can tell.
With that in mind, I begin my studies. I plan to continue using my ability until I'm confident enough not to end up giving myself a brain tumor or cancer.
And so, I spend the rest of the day researching and jotting down my findings, hoping that this new routine won't last more than a month.
5 months later
Amidst a pile of books and notebooks, we can see a child of almost 4 years old walking back and forth amidst this vast collection of books.
"Damn it! How much longer do I have to waste studying my brain?" the child says in a pensive pose as they look at the stack of books and scrolls.
"So much information is missing. Curse my choice," the child mutters, looking at a grand scroll with a drawing of a giant brain, its thousands of neurons perfectly represented.
Just a fraction of the knowledge contained within this small room would be enough to reshape the knowledge of this planet, leading to an incredible neurological scientific breakthrough.
Yet, the child remained frustrated with the lack of knowledge. It wasn't enough to achieve their goals.
Even after missing school for three weeks, the child still hadn't reached their objectives and was kicked out of their house by their parents, sent off to the ninja academy.
Without any other options, the child begins organizing their belongings into storage scrolls they had received from a yellow-haired ninja they had met at Training Ground 7.
With everything finished, the young person gets ready and leaves home without even having breakfast, walking straight to the ninja academy.
In these past five months, many things had happened. Over time, Kakashi had demonstrated great talent at the ninja academy, making him the center of attention. This had some benefits as the higher-ups showed a keen interest in him.
Due to this fact, the Third Hokage himself had personally appeared to teach the children at the ninja academy. Naturally, he conducted a comprehensive workshop on the Will of Fire, attempting to influence the young children by feeding their minds with empty words.
As the second-ranked student in practical aspects at the academy, I couldn't be left out and had a lecture with the Third Hokage himself. Since I already had a lot on my plate, I didn't care about being rude and expressed my thoughts to the old man.
Flashback - Third Hokage's Workshop
After Hiruzen instructed us in Taijutsu, I quickly make my way to the classroom's exit, planning to go to Training Ground 7 to continue studying the functioning of the brain.
Before I could leave, unexpectedly, I hear Hiruzen addressing me.
"Young Atsuchi? Are you already leaving?" he asks me with a friendly smile.
I exhale sharply in frustration and swiftly pivot to face him, for I couldn't merely dismiss the damn Hokage.
"Yes, Hokage-sama, I intend to practice at the vacant training ground," I reply, being as respectful as possible.
"How unexpected, a very dedicated child, I presume. May I ask which training ground?" Hiruzen asks, maintaining the same facade.
Mentally filled with frustration, I think, 'Does this old bastard think I don't know he's keeping an eye on me?'
"I usually use Training Ground 7, Hokage-sama," I respond.
"I have fond memories of that place. I think I'll accompany you there. I can share some stories from the past about that special location," he says.
'You must be kidding me. What does this old man really want?' I think.
"Feel free to accompany me, Hokage-sama," I reply with a smile.
During the entire journey, the old man asked me some generic questions about my parents, hobbies, and even my dreams and ambitions. My answers were generic, providing little to no information.
When we arrived at the training ground, the Hokage told me some stories about this training ground, and I could sense a hint of sincerity in his tone.
"You know, Atsuchi, I'd like to ask you something indiscreet," says Hiruzen.
"You can speak, old man... Hokage-sama," I speak unintentionally and swallow the saliva in my mouth.
Hiruzen laughs at my somewhat intimate response, considering I had always maintained a certain level of etiquette and manners.
"Just call me Grandpa, after all, we're one big family here in Konoha," he says with a smile.
'There's something going on,' I think.
"Atsuchi, what are your thoughts on war?" he calmly asks.
'So that's it?' What nonsense.
"War... Well, war holds incredible importance in our lives. It holds dominion over life and death. It is the path to survival or the loss of the village. So, I believe we must handle it very carefully," I sincerely respond.
Just as the old man was about to speak, I interrupt him.
"Don't get me wrong, Hokage-sama. I understand the existence of war, but I don't like it. In most cases, humans wage war for foolish reasons such as revenge, arrogance, domination, interest, and resources. I don't support war in any way; its purpose never brings long-term results. I consider myself more of a diplomat," I reply.
"Interesting viewpoint. So, you wouldn't participate in a war?" he asks me.
"You've misunderstood me, Hokage-sama. The only reason I dislike wars isn't due to cowardice or philosophical thoughts," I reply, pausing before continuing my train of thought. "Hokage-sama, weapons are cursed objects that bring bad luck and can bring calamities when wielded for too long. I firmly believe in a saying that goes, 'Those who kill with iron will die by iron.' It is due to this line of thinking that I prefer to avoid war. However, if I'm ever forced to wield my sword, my enemies should fear the consequences, for the war would end the next day," I respond sharply.
Hearing my thoughts, the Hokage is momentarily stunned.
"An interesting way of thinking, Atsuchi. I hope you won't have many enemies in the future," he says, smiling, and bids farewell.
Seeing the Hokage leave, I return to my activities. Even though it caught his attention, nothing else truly matters now.
I don't possess a powerful coin that can influence the village's superiors.
Hiruzen's POV:
I still hadn't fully recovered from my previous shock when I sense someone approaching.
Looking in their direction, I notice Minato coming closer.
"So," Minato asks.
"It was as you reported. This child is not normal, and the way of he think has been bothering me ever since I met him," I reply. I had read Minato's report, but meeting the child in person left a more lasting impression on me.
"he is" Minato responds, smiling.
"In the future, in these turbulent times, this young person will become a valuable asset to Konoha and fulfill his mission as a ninja," I tell Minato.
"I hope you will guide him, Minato," I give Minato a new mission.
"Hai," says Minato, disappearing from my sight.
End of Flashback.
