Chapter 73 - Kiri's War 02.

The battle had finally begun, as one ninja clashed against another, and the rebels quickly gained an advantage with their more significant numbers than the enemy.

At this point, it was 5,000 against 3,000, although most of them were jonins and chuunins who had survived from the enemy. All the rebel ninjas began to gain the upper hand, pushing the Kiri ninjas back.

"For the freedom of the Water Country!" the rebels shouted.

"Kill them all!" the Kiri ninjas exclaimed, trying to boost their morale.

The main fights soon began to erupt. Mei quickly started attacking a group of ninjas alone, performing a jutsu and spitting out a cloud of acidic vapor, while the ninjas she faced began to burn and vaporize the water below them.

Akame swiftly moved her kunais as she began to scythe through ninjas in the middle of the battlefield.

Kimimaro also joined the fight, transforming his arms into bone claws, beginning to kill anyone who opposed him.

Utakata did not use his biju power, while summoning soap bubbles, making them explode on the enemies, dropping them one by one.

The others also contributed, performing jutsus, using kunais and blades to cut down the enemies. Meanwhile, a bolt of lightning passed through everyone, crossing the battlefield, cutting lives in seconds. People only saw the bolt of light appear, and then, they saw enemies being sliced.

Naruto began to mow down all the enemies and saw a group of ninjas not too far from this, starting to summon a water dragon jutsu. They finished and quickly exploded water in the form of three dragons, and he responded with his light, launching it with the sword before anyone could use a jutsu to counter the enemy.

The light quickly advanced across the battlefield and exploded with the water dragons, creating an explosion and consuming all the water and even the ninjas who summoned it. Naruto quickly resumed running through the battlefield, advancing deeper into the enemy's defense than any other ally. He kept it up the whole time.

"This is bad. If it continues like this, we're going to lose. What should we do, commander?" The ninja turned to Kurosuki, as he clenched his teeth with frustration, watching the entire army that the Mizukage-Sama had entrusted him to lead to exterminate the rebels, now falling incredibly easily.

He began to see that there was no victory in this fight, especially with that flash of light running across the battlefield and killing ninjas easily. He already had to deal with Mei, but that ninja, who had been in the reports and some rumors, was much worse than he had imagined.

"Let's flee," murmured Ringo, someone who had no mercy for enemies and even enjoyed killing, but seeing thousands of ninjas advancing against them was too dangerous to stay there. She did not want to die like this.

"Form a defense. We must summon one more jutsu together," Kurosuki exclaimed as some ninjas began to retreat. There were 1,500 ninjas there to obey him, and they quickly began all to make a seal over the water.

"Let's all respond equally!" Mei exclaimed in the midst of the fight, while all the available ninjas began to make seals together. Both sides created a colossal water jutsu and quickly launched explosions at each other, creating another vortex of wind throughout the region.

But, as the rebel ninjas now had more members, almost 3,000 doing the same together against those 1,500, they quickly began to gain an advantage against the enemies. Meanwhile, the Kiri ninjas faced a huge wave coming at them with an explosion of water and earth arising, and the next moment, hundreds of them died. But it wasn't enough. Naruto looked at that, nodded, and returned to Mei.

"Mei, summon the earth jutsu!" he shouted, executing his plan.

"Make the barriers and move away immediately!" She exclaimed, already aware of Naruto's plan, which he had asked everyone to move away as soon as this happened. Barriers began to be created in the middle of the water, throwing all the enemy ninjas inside it, trapping them with four walls being created while Kurosuki looked dazed at it.

And before they could realize what the rebels planned, a flash appeared in the sky, starting to shine. Naruto crossed his arms at this moment, as several flashes of light began to be launched, going down at the speed of light within the earth walls.

"THIS?!" the Kiri ninjas could only murmur as they watched the blinding light, unable to escape. An explosion line occurred the next moment as all the Kiri ninjas looked on in awe with the explosions outshining the sun itself.

Every barrier exploded the next moment as lifeless bodies flew. But Naruto saw some still alive and disappeared the next moment heading towards the destruction he had caused.

"What was that?" Ringo was spitting blood from her mouth, coughing, and most of her body was burned. She was dazed and, as soon as she managed to get up, ready to leave there as quickly as possible, a flash appeared in front of her. There was Naruto, and before she could act, Naruto transformed into light, disappearing and reappearing behind her with her head being cut off the next moment.

"You bastard!!!" Someone advanced against Naruto as he moved the found sword against the opponent's weapon, who was none other than Kurosuki.

"What the hell are you?" The man looked quite frightened as he began to launch several strikes at Naruto, who began to defend as well, maintaining a layer of Haki on his sword so it wouldn't break completely and protect him from the lightning bolts the enemy's sword emitted.

Naruto said nothing while continuing the sword duel until the man, tired, seeing that he could not break through Naruto's defense with mere fencing, began to launch lightning that exploded all over the area in front of him.

"It was a nice fight, but it ends here," Naruto had disappeared in the middle of the explosion and a voice emerged behind the man before he could react; his head was removed from his neck with Naruto killing the second of the seven swordsmen of the Mist in less than 1 minute.

May appeared right after and looked at the bodies on the ground and then at Naruto. "So it's over?" she murmured.

"Yes, that was easy, but it's not over yet," Naruto said, and she sensed it.

"Gather all the information from the battle: the number of enemy losses and our losses. Place the prisoners somewhere and leave them with a group of ninjas who can watch over them and take care of the camp. Gather those who can fight and let's launch a direct attack on the Mizukage, this is our chance," said Naruto, not particularly caring about the fact that he was commanding. But Mei, didn't seem to care about that now and nodded before leaving.

It didn't take long for shouting to start in the distance as the rebel ninjas celebrated a battle that lasted not even 20 minutes and thousands of enemies had been killed.

The rebel ninjas couldn't even believe that although the ninjas didn't know the numbers, their overwhelming victory was quite obvious. The war was so easy for them that they couldn't even believe it.

Naruto ended up not joining them, since for him it was not yet time to celebrate. There were two people who needed to be taken down before he considered things settled.

Akame appeared at this moment. "How are you?" she asked, concerned.

"You know that none of these enemies can hurt me, right?" he said jokingly.

"I know," she said.

"Don't talk like that," A new voice emerged. "She just wants to see if you have any injuries so she can take care of you." Utakata approached at this moment.

Akame had a sour look at his joke, but Naruto did not fail to flash a small smile. "Well, anyway, we've finished this fight... Let's wait for Mei to finish things and continue, but get ready, because we're going to continue in Kiri and I'd like you to help me with that, Utakata," Naruto said and Utakata looked serious this time, nodding.

"I'll do that, Naruto, don't worry. We'll take down that guy and whoever else is controlling him from behind," Utakata said.

Naruto spent some time with his friends, while Kimimaro also joined them, until a man came to call Naruto, as summoned by Mei.

He went to the woman who was in the middle of the battlefield, with the paper, reviewing everything. While the men were still celebrating, when Naruto reappeared, everyone looked at him with admiring glances after seeing the miracle he had created on the battlefield.

Naruto, having no time for that kind of thing, returned to Mei, who looked at him before displaying a smile. "Look how they look at you now. At this rate, you're going to become our next Mizukage," Mei commented with a joke, while Naruto shrugged.

"Let's get to the numbers," he said directly, and she nodded.

"You took down 3,000 men with that thing I still don't know what it is, but after that, we managed to destroy more than 2,500 people while losing only 1,000. It was a crushing victory," Mei spoke, and Naruto nodded.

"That's good. Organize the troops, send the majority of the forces to Kiri as I said before. The village's defense shouldn't be very large after dispatching 6,000 men, right?" Naruto asked.

"There should only be about 1,000 soldiers now," Mei murmured.

"Then that's good. Let's send just 3,000. It's time to invade Kiri and kill those who are consuming this country," Naruto spoke, and Mei nodded.

They quickly began to issue orders, while the men stopped celebrating and had blood in their eyes seeing the last part of the plan finally being executed.

"Let's go to Kiri!!"

"Let's take down the Mizukage!!!"

"For a free Kiri!!!"

The morale of the people quickly peaked after that battle. They began to prepare 3,000 men while they awaited new orders.

"Now, we will be going to Kiri, with the intention of taking down the Mizukage and the bloody mist... let's put an end to our suffering and finish off the Mizukage!!" Mei exclaimed as the crowd of ninjas agreed.

Naruto nodded and took a step forward, heading north, where the Mizukage was waiting for them at that moment.
