003 Final Push

[ one week later ]

Outside the hospital we can see Ethan leaving with a depressed look on his face. Ethan knew the only reason Damien sent him to the hospital was so that Ethan can owe him more money in the long run.

[ Flashback]

" Can I see the bill and can I also ask who brought me to the hospital." asked Ethan after he had worked up the courage to ask the nurse.

" You don't have to worry about the bill it's already been payed for by the same man who brought you here, he claims to be your best friend." says the nurse as she is ready to discharge Ethan.

" My best friend what do you me-...Fuck." says Ethan.

[ Present ]

" I can't believe that, that FUCK, he could have just left me for dead at that point." cries out Ethan.

Ethan takes out his phone only to see 137 unread messages from Anna. Ethan then proceeds to call Anna back and immediately she answers the phone.

[ A/N: <> this is used when people are on the phone ]

< Ethan is that you, are you okay , where are you, are you safe.> Anna asks Ethan with clear concern.

< I'm okay, everything is okay Anna, calm down okay. We just need to talk.> says Ethan with a voice that has a bit of frustration in it, because of Damien.

< What's going on,.... Ethan is it because of the debt.> Anna asked with concern and fear in her voice.

<..... look Anna, we just need to talk okay.> Ethan says as he hang's up the phone.

< Ethan hello, Ethan are you there, Ethan.> Anna cries out as she tries to get Ethan to answer, but the phone is already hung up.

~P.O.V Anna~

Anna looks down on her phone as she tries to hold back her tears.

" Let me guess he wanted more money." asked Diana Anna's co-worker.

"He said we need to talk,... I think something is wrong." Anna said while trying to stop the tears that are on the verge of pouring out.

" You think! Of course there is something wrong, something is wrong him, with you, with your relationship, the fact that you only see that now meanings something is wrong with you. Look Anna you have to break up with him, his a leech, a parasite, you said it yourself when there is a problem you face it, well then it's time you face yours." Diana says as she practically shouts at her best friend.

" I don't know if I can do it Diana, his been with me since high school, when I was going threw my problem he was there for me and it's not his fault his like this now, because I know he is a good person deep down." Anna says she is crying with a pained expression.

Diana looks at Anna with a look of disbelief at her friend's naivety.

" A girl in love really is blind, but alas reality does not care about a maidens heart. Look Anna I know you love him, I know his your high school sweetheart, but sometimes you got to wake up and smell the parasite, break up with him it's both for your sake and his, you have to let him go, he doesn't love you as much as he did before the Ethan you knew is long gone. But hey what do I know I'm just your single best friend right." Diana tries to talk her friend in to finally seeing the truth.

Anna looks down sad as she thinks about Ethan and how he changed since the accident, she starts to think about how her relationship is going to be like in the future, she thinks about what to do, she tries to avoid thinking about what would happen if her relationship stays like this.

~P.O.V Ethan~

Ethan opens the door to his apartment and goes straight to the fridge, he opens the fridge and takes out some chinese food, he gave the food a whiff only to shrug his shoulders. Ethan puts the food in the microwave, the moment the food was done he began to devour his food like his life depended on it. After he was done eating Ethan went straight to his room to get some shut eye and wait for his girlfriend.

As Anna tries to unlock the door she sees that the door is not even locked she comes to realize that it must be Ethan as they are living together. Anna with a bit of fear and pain tries to open the door. Anna squeezes the duffel bag she is carrying and takes a breath and then finally opens the door. Anna walks in the apartment and goes straight to the bedroom to freshen up, but before she could open the door, Ethan does so first.

"Get in" said Ethan with a serious voice.

" What happened to your eye." Anna cries out as she tries to to touch his eye but Ethan stop her by squeezing her hand aggressively.

" I said Get in." Ethan says as he looks at Anna with a dangerous stare that Anna is strangely familiar with.

Ethan throws Anna in the room, that she almost falls and drops the duffel bag, Anna looks at Ethan with fear as she is trying to find the Ethan she fell in love with, but all she saw was that same dangerous stare, this terrifies Anna.

" Ethan what happened to you..... who are you, your not the Ethan I know and love." Anna says with tears running down her cheek as she tries to deny the reality in front of her.

Ethan looks at Anna as if he is trying not to recall a painful memory. He eventually shakes his head as if he is trying to convince himself of something.

" I need money." said Ethan.

" What... Ethan yo-

" I SAID I NEED MONEY, I KNOW YOU HAVE IT..... just give me the money." shouts Ethan with frustration.

Anna looks at Ethan with a look of disbelief, after a while she looks down and starts crying, she looks at Ethan as if not believing what she is seeing, but she soon found out that this is reality not some nightmare, she threw the duffel bag at Ethan.

" There, all the money you need is in that bag." Anna says as she is trying her best to look serious but her emotions are leaking out.

Ethan looks in the bag only to see a ton of money.

" There is $120 000 in that bag that should be enough for the debt right." says Anna as she starts to cry.

" How did you get all this much money, Anna did yo-

" Leave" says Anna as she stops crying and looks at Ethan with a pained express\ion.

" What."

" I SAID LEAVE, DON'T YOU GET IT IT'S OVER, LEAVE." says Anna on the verge of tears again.

Ethan looks at Anna with a shocked expression as if he can't believe what he is hearing.

[ Flashback ]

" Leave, you got what you need right, now leave and never step foot in this house again." says an elderly woman.

[ Present ]

Ethan looks at Anna with a face that shows mixed emotions, but mostly frustration. he walks up to Anna as if his about to hit up but ends up stopping as he looks like he is recalling something painful, Ethan turns and leaves with the bag in his hand and slams the door on his way out. Anna just falls to the ground and starts to cry her heart out.

Ethan is standing by a bridge as he recalls everything that happened before and after the accident. He screams as he throws the bag of money in the water.

"Who am I, it's all his fault *crying* it's all his fault."Ethan continuously tries to convince him.

Ethan looks at his reflection in the water, all he sees is a empty husk of what he used to be. Ethan proceeds to look at the sky as his eyes lose all color he gets on the rail as he is about to throw himself over.

" I wouldn't be so rash Mr Wayne, I mean Ethan." says a voice that Ethan found to be familiar.

Ethan look back with his now dead fish eyes, only to see the same Doctor from the hospital.

" Wow it only took you a week to be that dead, looks like I underestimated Reality, I thought it would take you at least a month." says the doctor.

" My offer still stands Ethan we can give you a do over to change how this ended up to change the past." says the Doctor with a devilish smile.

Ethan doesn't even bother to look at the doctor as if he wasn't even there. The Doctor looks at Ethan with a bit of annoyance.

" 10,2 million that's how much you owe, Damien Cross that's a lot of money Ethan, what do you think Damien will do when he learns that you can't pay him back." says the Doctor.

Ethan's shows a bit of concern but that immediately vanishes.

" He doesn't care about the money, he said so himself." Ethan says as he sounds like he is trying to convince himself.

" Do you really believe so Ethan." the Doctor says.

Ethan keeps staring at the water as he seems to be thinking about something.

" Come with me Ethan we can correct everything, we can make sure your life goes back to how it's supposed, we can make it like the accident never happened, I mean what have you got to lose right." say the Doctor.

Ethan looks at the Doctor as he thinks about everything the Doctor said, and finally comes to a decision, but also seems a bit afraid as it feels like he is making a deal with a demon.

" Can you really do it." Asks Ethan as it seems to good to be true.

" Instead of tell, I how about I just show you." says the Doctor as he knows he got Ethan right where he wants him.

Ethan looks at his reflection in the water and then finally looks at the Doctor.

"Fine let's go" says Ethan with a bit of Conviction not knowing what's to come.
