Roar!

A burst of light shrouded the two Alterers as the spirit genes inside their bodies transformed them into humanoid beasts. Bestial roars could be heard filling the surroundings as they unleashed the beast within them.

When Yeshua activated the genome sequence with the power of his soul, his body expanded until it reached two meters tall while being covered with dark blue fur. A ferocious head of wolf replaced his head and a mane of bristle fur spread from the top of his head to his back. Menacing fangs filled his maw while his claws glinted with sharpness.

Yeshua had transformed into his Windrage Wolf Alter Beast. Strength filled his strong and flexible body as berserk currents of blue wind surrounded him.

Bestial growls escaped from Yeshua's mouth as his yellowish wolf eyes fiercely glared at the opponent in front of him.

Grey had transformed into a rat species Alter Beast. His stout body became broader and thicker as dark gray fur covered it. It could be seen that it was filled with hefty strength as well as toughness while standing almost as tall as Yeshua.

Pointy claws could also be seen poking out of his fingers. They were moist with green vicious liquid and an acrid scent wafted from them. Behind him, Grey's long tail was whipping with so much force.

Grey's rat face was filled with savageness as his furious red eyes stared at Yeshua.

Yeshua was familiar to the Alter Beast of Grey. It came from a spirit beast called Acrid Rat. It was one of the common spirit beasts in the wilderness. These rats were unpleasant enemies as they had tough bodies and their acrid smell was irritating. But their most dangerous characteristic was their poison. Their claws and fangs were poisonous. Even their tail could be used to poison.

Acrid Rat: Level 1 – Type: Animal – Sub-type: Mammal – Species: Rat – Affinity: Poison – Attributes: strong defense, average strength, poor speed

Abilities: Acrid Claws, Vicious Bite, Poison Tail, Hefty Slam

Seeing the Acrid Rat Alter Beast of Grey, Yeshua thought that he had to make sure that he would not be poisoned by Grey. Though the poison would not kill him immediately, its effect would weaken him and make it hard for him to fight.

The two humanoid beasts prepared to unleash their attacks.

"Young master, they're fighting!"

Rose became excited when he saw two Alterers fighting. If not because they needed to hide, she would be jumping and cheering for them.

"Keep your voice down, Rose. Let's just keep watching. I hope I won't get bored by their low level battle.

"But what makes me curious is this package. Why does Grey want it so much? Looking at his angry expression, it seems that he puts so much importance on this package. This servant only became an Alterer for more than two years. I think he still works for Damian. Maybe the package has something to do with Damian?"

While pondering, Michael suddenly felt Rose looking at him.

Grey's stout body was slammed to the place where Yeshua was standing a while ago. This Grey was really irascible. He even used the strongest attack of his Alter Beast.

When Yeshua saw Grey charging at him a moment ago, he prepared to clash with Grey's attacks but he did not think that the big rat would suddenly accelerate then leaped at him activating his Hefty Slam!

It was good that Yeshua's Alter Beast was agile and he was able to dodge that sudden attack.

(Come on, bro. This is my first battle and you already used your finisher at the start of the battle? I was startled! Aren't we supposed to exchange some blows, and then in the critical moment unleash our Ulti? That was what I read in the novels. Did they lie to me? Those authors! Give me back my youth!)

Looking at the cracks on the ground, Yeshua could not help but be shocked by the strength of that ability. If he received that attack, it was sure that he would be severely injured!

Yeshua focused his entire concentration on Grey as he did not want to commit a mistake that would doom him in this battle.

Grey was still recovering from the use of his ability. Using Hefty Slam also disoriented him for some time. Yeshua used this chance to approached Grey. Yeshua hunched his body and dashed towards his opponent!

His speed peaked as wind covered his wolf body. His powerful legs dashed through the ground leaving a trail of dust!

Elusive Presence!

Yeshua's movements became silent and hard to detect. It was like a fleeting shadow gliding in the darkness of the night!

Grey tried to catch the approaching wolf but failed to touch him. Yeshua reached the side of Grey and swiped his claws.

Wind Claws!

Blue winds filled with sharpness surrounded his claws. These claws carried blades of wind as they slashed Grey on his side!

Shua!

Grey felt the wind and tried to dodge but his slow movement prevented him to completely avoid it. Crimson blood splashed as the wind blades tore his side!

But Grey was tenacious!

A long tail whipped Yeshua with a powerful force causing Yeshua to evade and keep a distance from Grey.

Grey's blood was spurting from his wound and dripping to the ground. Though he was injured, this damage was not enough to impede Grey. It only further enraged him!

"Damn, brat! You really anger me! I'll definitely kill you! No! I won't kill you immediately. I'll maul your body while you're alive and tear you to pieces gradually. Let's see if you won't beg me to kill you!"

Grey's angry roars resounded in the forest. His furious eyes burned with uncontrollable savageness.

The gang members who were spectating from afar were trembling as they witnessed the wildness of their boss. They already knew how cruel their boss was but this was their first time seeing him in his Alter form. Their fear towards their boss increased.

They were also shocked seeing the boy Yeshua in his Alter form. They could not believe the boy had such power. He even injured their boss!

Uwan, Tuwo, Triye, and Pora were also among the group.

"U-uwan, th-that boy who transformed into a wolf looks familiar?"

"Idiot, Tuwo! Quiet! We're dead if he sees us! If I die, my wives and children will starve!"

"The boss should kill that boy or he will kill us! I still want to eat a lot of food, Triye!"

"Shut up, Pora! He will hear you! If that boy remembered us, we're finished! I don't want to die! I still want to play with my dirty cats!"

The four generic goons could not believe that the boy they tried to bully was an Alterer. It was their luck that Yeshua still had a mild temperament and let go of them after teaching them a lesson. Their fear for Yeshua might even be stronger than their boss as they actually tried to disrespect an Alterer.

In this world, ordinary humans revered and feared Alterers. The power of Alterers was unfathomable for them. No ordinary human could stand against the strength of an Alterer. They could only bow their head down in front of them.

That was why the four men were shaking in fear and praying that their boss would kill that brat Yeshua.

Yeshua was circling around Grey. Even if he heard Grey's threats, he did not care. They were already fighting. Who would win and who would lose were not yet determined. He would just do his best so he would be the winner!

Blue wind covered Yeshua as he dashed around Grey. He knew that speed was his advantage. He had weaker defense and receiving Grey's attack would surely deal damage to him. Grey's claws also have poison. Yeshua must use his speed to give him a chance to win this battle.

Grey was at level 1 stage 3 soul temperance. It was higher by two stages than Yeshua who only just became an Alterer. These two stages were not simple two figures. The strength of an Alterer increased every stage of their soul temperance. Their attributes would be strengthened and the control of their abilities would increase.

Unleashing the abilities of the Alter Beast required the control of genome sequence. The stronger the soul temperance, the stronger the control of the genome sequence. This allowed the Alterer to easily control their abilities.

These abilities were powers given by the natural laws. When they were activated, the spirit particles in the surroundings would amplify these abilities. It was like gathering the spirit particles to the Alterer then amplifying the ability. The higher the control, the easier it would be to gather the spirit particle and amplify the ability.

For example:

When Grey used his Hefty Slam, the spirit particles amplified the strength of his body that allowed him to unleash a powerful force.

When Yeshua used his Wind Dash, wind covered his body and increased his speed. The wind that covered him was spirit particles transformed into wind.

The wind blades that covered Yeshua's claws that injured Grey were also formed from spirit particles.

As the soul temperance increased, the amplification of abilities would also increase.

Grey's higher soul temperance made his attributes and abilities stronger than a normal level 1 stage 1 Alterer. But Yeshua was not a normal level 1 stage 1 Alterer. Yeshua's Alter Beast was an elite rank!

Even though Yeshua was only at level 1 stage 1, his elite rank Alter Beast gave him strength comparable to level 1 stage 2 and almost reaching stage 3!

"I can do it! I can defeat him and leave this place alive! My path will not end here!"

Yeshua renewed his resolved and charged at Grey.
