Chapter 10

"Healer Raya, please do something, he is going to bleed to death this way." The mother kept urging the old lady to do something.

"Hold on, his breathing is stabilizing, and his complexion is improving. I don't know what that kid did but, I think he saved him." Healer Raya said to the woman.

Only then did the woman realized why Healer Raya the people-loving old lady didn't make a move, even though her child seemed to be bleeding heavily his face has become rosier and his breath calmed.

Even Zena realized how big of a deal that is.

Everyone just looked at Fares dumbfounded.

"What? Why are you staring at me that way?" He said while inching backward slowly.

"Who is there Zena? I've never seen him at the village before." Healer Raya said, turning her attention to Zena.

Snapping out of it, Zena went on and explained how they met, and she saved him, and even though he looked weak he still fought with his life to save her. While omitting the part, where she fell into a deep sleep.

"I see, I think the Chief said something about a weak man who's going to be our salvation. But then again, it wasn't the first weak man to come by so let's not overthink it for now." Healer Raya said as she turned to look at where Fares was again.

However, this time around, he wasn't there.

Fares was at the boy's side again and trying to find something to stop the bleeding with. The almost clotted blood has already been drained, now all that is left is to close the wound to prevent infections.

Before Healer Raya could say anything to him, she noticed his dilemma and sat in front of the boy placing her hands on the incision site and suddenly her hands started glowing.

'It's real! My mind wasn't playing tricks on me.' Fares thought excitedly.

Seeing the excitement in his eyes, old Raya thought to herself 'He would make a good Healer. '

After a few short seconds, Healer Raya removed her hands from the kid's chest making Fares gasp at what he saw.

'How? How did she do that? And what made her hand glow?' Fares couldn't help but feel excited, this was a mystery, a hell of a big one at that.

Thereafter, Healer Raya took Zena and Fares to the other bed and left the woman alone with her child.

"Tell me, kid, how did you do that?" Healer Raya asked Fares with a bit of excitement.

Fares tilted his head slightly and looked sheepishly at the old lady.

'Hey old lady I don't understand a word you're saying, or else I wouldn't be in this situation, to begin with.' He thought to himself.

On the outside though, he smiled then pointed at himself and said "Fares." then pointed at her and Zena, and shook his head.

Having the vast experience she had, Healer Raya understood that he didn't understand them, so she did the same as him and pointed at herself then Zena and said "Raya. Zena."

Fares made a big O with his mouth, finally getting that those 2 words that kept repeating were their names.

'But I am pretty sure they kept repeating a word before the old lady's name. What was it again?'

"Oh, 'Healer' Raya." he tried to mimic the word as good as he could, and it was enough for the healer to understand him.

She pats his shoulder and nods approvingly.

'This kid is a smart one, I am pretty sure having him with me in my clinic would be a great help. But first things first, someone must teach the kid our language.'

"Zena, get 'Fares' to the village chief tell him the kid's story, and ask him to teach him our language. We cannot keep communicating like that." Healer Raya instructed Zena and went inside to lay down a bit before seeing her next patient. It couldn't be helped she used a lot of energy this time.

Zena was about to tell Fares to follow her but realized he wouldn't understand her anyway, so she grabbed his hands and walked out of the clinic.

Fares was startled at first, but then thought that she wasn't dragging him there at the very least, so he followed her.

It was a pretty pleasant experience for him since he had never dated let alone hold hands with a pretty girl.

As he was thinking about this, they finally came to a stop in front of what he could only call a "cave".

It was a big hole at one end of the walls of this large place, that he could barely call a village.

Walking into the cave's entrance, Fares gasped at what he saw.

It was extremely large in here, even larger than the outside space altogether. The walls seemed to be inscribed with some drawings and writings all over it, literally there wasn't an inch in the wall that was drawing free even way up there making Fares wonder how did they get there.

Walking a few more minutes with Fares looking around in interest, they finally came to a wooden door which also had inscriptions all over it. Just by looking Fares could tell it was telling a story like the ones outside.

However, before he could even inspect them some more the door flung open, but weirdly enough nobody was standing by the door.

Fares was a little startled at first, but after he saw the old lady using what he only knew by the name 'magic' he wasn't as surprised, but he sure as hell was curious.

"Come in, Zena." a deep voice had been heard from inside.

After going in, Fares became shocked by how dark it was in here, 'Who would want to live here.' He thought.

"I don't need light to see, it is the perfect place to train my senses." Said the deep voice again shocking Fares even more.

'Did he read my mind? And the wait was that Arabic?' Fares couldn't help but gasp.

"You can talk Arabic?" He asked.

"Well of course young man, I've been waiting for you after all." Said the man again while lightening up a small fire on the palm of his right hand.
