The Pirate King’s Siren
"You're a monster."
"Aye. That I may be. But you'll soon realize, you're a monster too."
His breath tickled the hairs on my nape, causing my skin to prickle with awareness of how close we were. His left hand on my waist, touching the bare skin just above my hip, his right arm against the wall by my head.
I was trapped, and I found myself realizing that I didn't mind it for once. Not when it was with him.
"Why don't we find out how much of a monster you truly are, my siren."

Serenida's life had always been unpredictable and left her fighting for survival. Growing up as a poor orphan on the streets was already difficult, especially in the kingdom of Cari, but hiding a deadly secret was even harder.
When her secret is exposed to the kingdom, instead of becoming a spectacle and withering away, she instead runs, stowing away on a ship that was just leaving port. However, she doesn’t realize she stowed away on one of the worlds most dangerous and rough places for a girl to be: Neptune’s Judgement.
When her identity is discovered, she is faced with two choices. Change her identity and survive as a pirate, or go back to port and become a prisoner for life.
But even as a pirate, not everything is as jolly as it seems, as mutiny abounds and trust is betrayed, faster than the changing of the tides. Catching the attention of the Captain’s son was never meant to happen.
Nor was her saving him meant to reveal her secret.
