The wasteland continent

*Colt reminiscing mid-flight*

I learned about the wasteland continent in my travels with Alexander. As the name suggests it's a wasteland with no signs of water or plant life , well , water won't be an issue… magic, baby

The problem is.. the soil itself, they say it's so unfertile that nothing can grow there

[Evil grin]

Except… they didn't ask me to try

This is the knowledge acquired from the nobles, I mentioned that before

Another thing, they say giant monsters like giant ants or centipedes roam there, not to mention the "unknown golems"… they know about rock golems and sand golems in the central continent

However, apparently there are new types of golems here that they can't handle, or maybe it's just not worth it, I mean who's crazy enough to go there??

I know you just thought about me… I am the exception here

*The wasteland continent appears in sight, as Colt gets closer, the barren land becomes visible*

Let's see what you've got, wasteland continent

*Colt takes a look around*

The air itself feels still, this place.. with it's dark brown overall color, and that dusty soil underneath my feet, it's depressing

Not only is it dangerous , but this.. I can see why they don't bother

It is truly a wasteland , dry air, no water, no plants, nothing... just dirt, rocks, and a low trembling in the distance

This place is a mystery, everything exists for a reason, so why does this place exist?

Since it can house no life, except for the monsters, there must be something more at play here

The first thing I did was inspect the soil with earth magic, roam around with float, inspect different areas.

And what I sensed, is going to rock this world

The "wasteland" is a frickin' treasure trove ! it's full of every element needed for technology, copper, silicon ,titanium ,aluminum, iron, you name it , it's there

Except for radioactive elements

Which is good.. good luck destroying the world now… assholes

It also has every jewel, rubies, diamonds, you name it, and there is a lot

The next thing I did, I used magic sight

*Shows the air filled with high amounts of mana.. enough to be clearly visible as a purple-black spacy fog*

This is insane !! What the heck ??!!!

It was never this dense in the main continent, even in areas where no humans lived…

This could mean 2 things

Either this place is naturally richer with mana, or that humans regulate the flow of mana somehow

Of course! YOU MORON !! That's the origin of the centipedes or the ants, they're exposed to ridiculous amounts of mana so they mutate into the monsters we know!!!

No wonder!! The closer to the city or the town you get the weaker the monsters

What about the golems then??

*Suddenly the earth shakes Colt turns around to find a shining golem behind him*

I had to open my big mouth

*Dodges a punch*

Colt : "Easy there big fellow, why don't you take a nap"

"Graviol"

5 times gravity

*The golem drops to the ground, starts to shatter*

Colt : "Now then , your color, that overall silver look…"

*The golem keeps shattering until a glowing red orb inside it appears*

Colt : "Ah , there's you core"

Earth lance

*The core shatters, the remains of the golem lie still*

With the core shattered it's dead, now then… time to take a look

*Colt grabs a shard carefully examines it*

It can't be!!

"atomic sense"

It is!!!

The golem… it's made of… PURE SILICON

What the heck ??!!!

Who brings these things in a fantasy world?!!

The discoveries I made here can change this world forever

Wait, wait , wait... this is... let's try something

*Colt takes a shard of silicon , imbues it with a boatload of magic power*

I'm pouring a lot into this.. I wonder what will happen???

*suddenly the shard turns red, forms itself into an orb and around it.. a new silicon golem is formed from seemingly thin air*

*Colt bounces back*

*the golem tries to attack*

"Graviol" , 5 times gravity 

Colt [laughing hysterically] : "Ahahahaha, I never thought this would actually work!!! I got silicon from magic!!!"

I could manipulate atoms, but this!!!

This is a gold mine!!!

*the golem shatters, Colt finishes it*

And since taking them down is so easy, I am basically the king of metal

THIS… CHANGES… EVERYTHING

*a giant centipede appears from underground*

*Colt turns around*

[ evil smile]

Colt : "I was waiting…"

"static"

Colt : "Just stay there like a good little insect"

*Colt calmly walks to the centipede, touches it*

Colt : "Ah, hard natural armor eih? Well, if I wanted to kill you, you'd be dead. However…"

*starts siphoning it's magic*

*the giant centipede gradually de-mutates into a regular small one*

Colt : "It worked!! *smiles* But I'm a little greedy, let's mutate you again…"

*supplies the same amount of magical power he siphoned*

*the centipede shrieks in agony but does not mutate until after a few seconds from when the magic was fully supplied*

Interesting !! so there is a certain threshold, I need to pass to mutate a being or create a golem

[internal evil grin]
