Jack was still feeling the heaviness of sleep lingering in his limbs. His head ached faintly, but the pain in his shoulder was a more constant reminder of what had happened. Glancing around the hospital room, he spotted his phone on the side table and reached for it. A sigh escaped him as he pressed the power button—his phone was dead. No charge. He sat back against the pillow and scanned the room for a charger, but there was nothing.
"Figures," he muttered to himself, frowning.
