The hospital room felt eerily quiet as the tension lingered from Lady Boss's sudden arrival. Jack shifted slightly in his bed, his shoulder aching from even the smallest movement. He exchanged a quick glance with DL before looking back at the imposing woman who stood at the foot of his bed. Her presence was like a weight in the room, cold and dominating, but there was a slight shift in her demeanor—something different from before.
"I made a mistake," Lady Boss said, her voice softer but still edged with authority. "I misjudged the situation and put you in unnecessary danger. For that, I owe you an apology, Jack."
Jack blinked, caught off guard by her words. An apology? From someone like her? He hadn't expected this at all. He shifted in the bed, unsure how to respond. "I... uh, well," he started, feeling the awkwardness settling in, "I guess it's alright. You didn't know."
