The sunny days continued in the Silent Spring Valley. Auran did not wish to waste his short semester break by sitting inside home and working in the botanical garden alone. He planned for a solo trip and forgot to tell his mother about it disappearing for couple of days.
He rode in his bicycle but remembered to carry his phone. He took his back back and rode further inside the valley that led to the woods to the usual trekking spot. He booked for the spot and a tent and started walking up the hill through the thick forest. It was the route the wild animals cross less hence it was safe to be alone. He had a piece of fine wood to use while walking. His hoodies and converse were comfortable for the walk. He had 14 kilometres to climb up. As he climbed up the temperature dropped by one degree. It was getting colder and colder as the sun began to set, the clouds covering the hills, thick fog around. He only met one or two people, on his way up the hill. He was glad to be alone. Less the crowd, better for photography.
Around 7 in the evening, he reached the top of the hill. He put up the tent on a good spot with the view of cliffs and hills in the distance. A dangerous place but too beautiful to not admire.
He drank some hot water from the thermos flask and and had some instant cup noodle he remembered to pack for dinner, breakfast and lunch for the next day. He took out his camera and tired to take some pictures with his DSLR.
The sky photos with the stars and the pictures of the fire came out well. He enjoyed his lone time. He opened his tent and got in. He took out kindle he brought along with him for reading, the historical architectural designs followed in the asian countries concentrating on Arabic and Asia Pacific designs. He put on his blue lens reading glasses looking at the screen. He put on another jacket and drank some more water. The stars slowly disappeared and it all of a sudden it became windy. He could hear the rustling sounds and he wondered what was going on.
Suddenly there appeared a flash of light in the sky that scared him. It looked like the sky was falling. Auran took his powerful torch in his hands and got out of the tent. The loudest thunder broke. He shut his ears tight and walked back to the place he had fire. It was no longer there. He walked a little forward to an open space without trees.
He looked around and wondered if he should call for help. He took out his phone, luckily the charge was full. There were no towers and he tired to make an emergency call to the camping authorities. But then he saw a figure standing in front of him in the distance. The phone fell from his hands with a thud on the grasses. His heart pounded loud in fear. It was not just any figure. He developed the courage to look at the figure flashing the light towards it. And he went shocked. The wind slowly stopped and the sky was no longer cloudy with the chance for a storm night. Auran felt his body shivering. He stood still.
