Chapter Twenty Two: The Distraction

“Thanks for doing all this with me, man. I know this is kind of insane,” Jonah said quickly walking down the aisle of the music store with Nick. Nick looked up at Jonah with a curious and vulnerable glance.

“Sure, dude, this is what friends are for,” Nick answered, turning back to the records in front of him. Jonah laughed a bit.

“I’m pretty certain the people who came up with that phrase did not intend it to mean: helping distract another demon from exposing me and my demon girlfriend to Satan and then finding a way down to hell to convince Lucifer himself to change his mind about his own rules of hell.” Jonah continued to laugh a little and Nick joined him.

“Yeah, probably not,” Nick admitted.

“But seriously, you’re going above and beyond as a friend here. I’ve never had anyone do anything like that for me before.” Jonah turned his glance down towards the records, feeling the heat of his vulnerability rise in his cheeks. Nick cleared his throat.
