Freedom Fighter

Vincent felt hatred burning through his veins, his blood vessels puslated with anger and it felt like they were going to burst. He was scared no doubt. He was scared of making a fool of himself, he was scared that he would fail utterly at his attempt to liberate himself.

But he wasn't going to give in… he had great trust in Blu. He wasn't the same anymore, something can definitely change.

He could feel it for all he want, but if he doesn't take a bold step, then it would all be for naught.

With that in mind, Vincent steeled himself.

'I'm going to do this…'

Failure or success didn't matter. He was just going to make sure he fights, he would not succumb to this perpetual bullying. Even if he does fail… he would try again, and again and again.

He was not ready to live his entire life in fear and cowardice.

And so he slowly stood up, a determined expression stoning itself on his face.

The whole atmosphere suddenly seemed tense and silent. In the middle of that, something unexpected happened. Vincent heard the beep of the system and stared down with widened eyes.

'What the hell?!'

Vincent wanted to scream out but given the situation, he couldn't dare. He just stood up in utter silence, his facial expression blank.

'Crazy, this blu is crazy!'

Not just one feet but two, should he fail. At that moment, Vincent probably had one thing straight.

He couldn't afford to lose and become shorter than he was before. So if this was going to kill him, he was going to take down this guys with him.

The leader amongst them observed him with a very annoying smirk, a corner of his lips was upturned in a way that vexed Vincent so much.

Vincent kept a straight gaze as he stared into the guy's eyes and slowly raise both his hands to a boxing stance… but he wasn't doing it right, his fist was clenched so awkwardly that it made him look absurd.

The leader amongst them raised his head then laughed loudly the second later, the other two lackeys also followed suit, laughing at Vincent for summoning the courage to stand like that. Like a girl trying to hold her pee.

"What? What the hell are you doing you dimwit!!" The leader shouted out as he laughed.

The whole class was looking at the back, observing what was going on. There were some that didn't mind and didn't care.

Despite being made fun of Vincent's determination didn't waver one bit. His face was heavy with a look of solid strength, even though he stood one hell of a awkward stance.

The leader of the three suddenly stopped laughing and stared seriously at Vincent. His voice growing cold as he spoke.

"If you don't drop that nasty look on your face, I'll make sure I teach you a les—

The guy already had his hand raised as he concluded his statement. He was going to throw a punch into Vincent's stomach.

But Vincent was swift, it was such an amazing speed. His hands flew and connected to the guy's face like a magnet. Sending the guy's head backward. He stumbled a few steps away from Vincent.

His face was reddened and blood slowly rolled down his nose.

The other two blinked and exchange glances between the puncher and the punched. The class also fell in utter silence, but a valiant expression of shock could be seen on a lot of their faces.

Especially the fatty. His mouth fell open.

Vincent threw a punch and it landed?

The guy lowered his head and wiped the blood off his nose. He was silent for a second or two then he raised his head.

"Damn! You must have learnt a jab or two… is that the reason why you are suddenly getting cocky? You think you can beat me?"

Vincent did not say anything, he just stood there with his hands awkwardly raised. The posture did not matter, all he just needed to do was activate the skill mentally and his body would execute the action.

But he had honestly hoped that one blow would be enough to defeat the guy, so they can end this quickly without things escalating.

Besides, classes would start soon. He didn't want to get in trouble of any kind, he didn't have a rich parent who would stand for him.

'I guess he would have to receive one more for him to stop.'

Seeing the determined look on Vincent's face only upset the leader more. He clenched his fist tightly and in a swift flow of motion, he drove towards Vincent.

'Swift Serpent Strike.'

Vincent's hand again moved without getting caught in the guy's sight. Before he could land his coming fist, Vincent shoved his into his face the second time. The guy felt his head jolt back from the shock of connection.

Then Vincent moved quickly, shooting forward his left hand, delving another blow into the man's face. He withdrew the former and shot it again.

His fist became a blurring throw of sharp blows, battering the guy's face— in three seconds, several blows had already been delivered.

All he just did was pass the mental command over and over again. And as the name of the skill went, each execution was swift, and serpentlike in nature.

It's core was not getting caught in the act, before the enemy knew what was happening, the blow had been delivered.

Deciding to utilize it with his second hand, throwing a sequence of swift punches without stopping was a brilliant innovation on Vincent's part.

The guy stood motionless for a minute, his pupils had disappeared, his hand was still raised– the punch he wanted to deliver earlier.

But instead of moving forward, he fell back flat on the ground and passed out.

A deafening silence fell on the whole room... then the next minute, the whole class exalted their voices in a wondrous cry of victory.

Vincent stared down at the defeated guy. His knuckles hurt but that didn't matter.

'There's still two left'

The two lackeys were staring, confused at what to do.

Vincent looked at them, eyes like that of a bloody warrior.

"What are you waiting for? Come at me you bastards!"

The two of them ran away, tardily dragging their leader's body with them.

Vincent couldn't believe his eyes. The whole class was filled with many chatters, they were all looking at him with amazing eyes. But what struck him the most was that…

…he defeated the guy that had been bullying him since day one.

That wasn't the only guy for sure but to him, this was a victory, it only gave him more assurance that a change had begun in his life.

'I defeated them… I really defeated them'

A smile curved his lips as he turned to look at the jubilant class.
