Chapter 47

Daniel was glad Griffin couldn’t hear Mellie’s side of the conversation when she said, “The good looking, sexy one you told me about?”

“Yep,” he replied succinctly. “So I’m good. I should let you go now, since you’re at work. I love you.”

“Love you back.” There was laughter in her voice when she added, “Say hi to your friend for me and behave.”

“Mel,” he grumbled, but she’d already hung up.

Once they were on their way back to Daniel’s house, Griffin asked, “Do you still want to work on sketches of me?”

“Hell yes! First off, it will take my mind off that creep, and secondly, as I told Mel, I feel safer with you around.”

“Are you planning on calling Ray about this?”

“Thought about it, but he’ll deny he did more than ask the guy to deliver the contract. Knowing him, he’ll be shocked and horrified that his messenger turned a simple delivery into a threatening one.”
