"I will never be foolish enough to follow you," Ryan said, his voice firm. "I'm not that naïve. My mother doesn't keep her enemies around her. If you want me to believe you, you'll need to bring some evidence that my mother sent you."
Rihanna clung to her brother, fear in her eyes.
Jessica was furious. She couldn't believe a four-year-old child could speak so maturely.
"They're just children, and they're scared. Leave them alone," a new voice said.
The twins turned to see a beautiful woman, who looked as innocent as a newborn lamb. "Hello, kids. I'm Kira, and I promise I'm not here to hurt you. I'll take you home. I'm very nice."
Rihanna studied the woman's face, searching for any sign of deceit, but found none.
Finally, she let go of her brother's arm. "You promise you'll take us home?" she asked.
Kira nodded, her smile warm and sincere. "I promise."
The twins glanced at each other.
