Ch. 104 Hage village

Scathach and I finally arrived back at Clover Kingdom. We were both traveling between villages.

" This should be Hage village."

Scathach:" That's a huge skull."

" Yeah, apparently the first wizard king took that down, wanna see it up close?"

Scathach:" Sure."

We climbed the top of the skull and found a statue.

Scathach:" This must be the first wizard king?"

" Seems like it. He seems small."

Just after insaid that I felt a bird peck my head.

" Oi, damn bird!"

I shooed the bird away as it landed on the statue.

" I think I found my archenemy Scathach."

Scathach rolled her eyes.

Scathach:" It's just a bird, Yuto. It won't do amy real harm."

" Uh, have you seen Shisui and Itachis birds they dangerous as well."

Scathach picked up the bird and started petting it.

" It's has eye bags, Here bird take this." I took out a fruit from the heart kingdom which I saved in my inventory.

The bird started pecking the fruit eating it.

Scathach:" There there."

I looked at Scathach, and she seemed to understand that this bird was intelligent.

' Either someone was turned into a bird or this bird is a genius.'

' I see, so I'm guess it's a she. '

" Well, why not take the bird with us?"

Scathach looked at me as she held the bird. But she trusted me as the bird hasn't done anything except show signs of intelligence.

I picked the bird up and held it to my eye.

" From now on, your name is kage, the Third, the Lord of Birds, the harbringer of chao...."

Scathach:" That's too long."

" What? I thought it sounded cool. huh?"

The bird escaped from my hand as she pecked the statue where there were groves.

" Hmm, a puzzle?"

Scathach:" Is it asking us to find the missing pieces?"

" Well, looks like we're going on an adventure again?"

Before I could walk away, Scathach grabbed the back of my hood.

Scathach:" Yami told us that the Wizard king is giving out promotions. You have to attend there."

" Tch. I don't really want to meet with those stuck-up nobles."

Scathach:" You'll deal with it. I know you can."

" Sigh, if you're saying it, I might as well. "

We spoke as the bird listened to our conversation.

Scathach:" It seems to be getting dark. we should camp for the night."

" Sure."

We both got down as the bird landed on my head.

" Huh? Are you actually coming with us? I guess we have a new companion."

Scathach:" it seems so."

As we walked, we noticed a church.

" Hey, you don't think they'll let us sleep there, right?"

Scathach:" I'm getting tired of sleeping on the ground. Give it a try."

???:" Hello?"

An old man opened the door.

" Hello sir me and my partner and I are traveling to our parents' house in the next village, bur as you could see it's getting dark and we would like to spent the night in your lovely church."

???:" Oh, of course you're welcome to stay the night, children."

Scathach:" Thank you, kind sir."

???:" Of course, it's dangerous to travel at night. Please make yourself at home."

???:" Father Orsi, who is it?"

Father Orsi:" Oh sister Lily. Just children who name traveling wishing to spend the night here."

Sister Lily: Oh? Really? Please, how about you join us for dinner?"

" That would be delightful, thank you kindly ma'am."

Sister Lily:" Of course."

Father Orsi:" Come, why don't I introduce you to my children."

As he and Sister Lily guided us to the dinner table, we saw children eating.

Father Orsi:" Ahem, everyone, we have a guest tonight. These are..." He spoke as he looked at us.

" I am Yuto Yamamoto, and this is my partner Scathach."

Scathach:" Hello."

???:" OOOOOOHHHH!!!!! MEEWWW FWWIIIEEEEENDDD!!!!!!

A kid with gray hair and green eyes shouted as he was stuffing his face.

I chuckled. "Yeah, you could say that."

Father Orsi:" Asta! don't speak with your mouth full!"

Sister Lily:" It's alright, Father. I'm sure Asta is excited to see new people his age."

Father Orsi:" Sigh, I'm sorry you had to see that."

" It's alright, this place feels homey."

Sister Lily:" Please sit next to Yuno and Asta."

Sister Lily just smiled and sat next to Father Orsi.

Asta:" Shooww, gulp, where you from Yuto!?"

" Ah, actually, I'm from the capital but visiting my parents in a village."

Father Orsi:" Is that so? who are you living with in the capital?" He spoke as he drank his water

" Actually, I'm living with my squadmates."

Father Orsi:" Pfft. S...squad mates!?"

Sister Lily:" Oh!? are you the youngest magic knight everyone talked about?"

" Yes, I just happen to be lucky."

Asta:" WWWWOOOOAAAAHHHH! HOWS THE MAGIC KNIGHTS!!!?"

He shouted as he had stars in his eyes, and Yuno, who's been quiet, looked interested.

" Mostly just missions."

Orphan:" Wow, can you tell us some?"

" Of course I can."

This place felt like home. I could see that they relied on potatoes and water from a nearby well.

It reminds me of the orphanage back in the Shinobi world.

' I haven't visited them a while, haven't I.'

Sister Lily reminds me of Sister Nonou. and Father Orsi reminds me of Father Kanpu.

' I'll come visit this place. Iris set a reminder for me, would you?'

As I told stories about how I caught a thief by throwing a sword at him, which caught his shirt into the wall.

I've also noticed something shocking in this world full of mana, and everyone had magic. I felt none coming from Asta.

' I could feel large amounts of mana from Yuno, but Asta, he doesn't have a single drop of mana.'

It wasn't until I saw his muscles were stronger than the average 10 year old.

' I see he seems to realize this and went towards the physical path. I'm guessing he's a protagonist, huh?'

I thought as I finished eating, and Sister Lily took us to sleep in Asta's and Yunos' room. And just as I was about to sleep, I heard Asta Speak.

Asta:" Pst hey Yuto!"

" If you're trying to whisper, do it silently."

Asta:" Oh right, but can you train me to become a magic knight?"

' Well, if he's the protagonist, then I guess I could help him a little.'

" Sigh, alright."

Scathach looked at me. And I tried my best to ignore it.

Yuno then turned to me.

Yuno: "Are you really a magic knight?"

I felt the bird land on my head as it tried to cover her ears.

Yuno;" If so than could you train me."

I gave him a side eye.

" Train you? you seemed pretty talented from what I see. Is it because of him"

Yuno:" I heard Asta speak that he wanted you to train him."

" I see. A rivelry, huh? Alright."

Yuno nodded, but I could see him looking at me with fire in his eye.

' I guess I'm a target as well. Just don't fail, Yuno.'

Scathach:" I'm guessing we're staying for a while?"

" Yup."

Scathach:" Sigh. just make it quick."

* Afternoon *

" It's called a breathing technique, Asta, just focus on breat...."

Asta;" I GOT IIIIITTTT!!!!!"

Father Orsi:" By Yuto, bye Scathach, Come by again!" He waved as everyone else did as well.

Asta and Yuno waved. I taught the breathing technique to Asta. I taught Yuno how to increase his affinity with wind as well as his mana control.

We waved as we left towards the capital.

Julius:" And Yuto, you are hereby granted the rank of Senior Magic Knight."

Everyone in the room looked at me Sharply.

Random dude:" Escuse me, Wizard King, but how can he be granted Senior Magic Knight, especially when he's just a child!?"

Julius:" Oh? Yuto has made more merit in a short span of time with 100% efficiency. Are all of you dissatisfied that a child managed to surpass you?"

That made them shut up as they looked down.

Julius:" Well, I hope you guys enjoy the after party!"

He spoke as he put us in a party room with tables and food.

I sat down in the corner like the edgy main character i am.

Julius:" Sorry I'm late, Are you guys enjoying...."

He looked in my direction as I took my foot off of the random person.

Julius looked at the rest of the magic knights only to see the scared as well and distanced them selves from me.

Julius:" Well, I guess the afterparty could wait. Everyone could leave early." He stated as he moved out of the way so that they could escape.

After they ran away, he spoke towards me.

Julius:" Sigh. explain."

" There's nothing to explain about, I found the guy and used the guy....like a footstool."

Julius just blankly stared at me.

Julius:" You're getting more missions."

" Wha!!!??"

" I already did." I spoke as I was exhausted from the large pile of missions.

Yami caught the thing I threw at him.

" It's a seal that goes well for your katana. It'll mend the katana with just mana."

He spoke as he took out his katana and put the seal on it, which was absorbed by the katana.

Vanessa:" Hmmm, yuto?"

" You're finally awake, drunken woman?"

Vanessa:" Yuto!!"

" Argg, get off, you damn pervert put on some damn clothes!"

" Scathach, help!!"

Scathach:" I'm going to sleep!"

" Birdie!!"

Scathach:" Amd. I'm taking the bird!"

" Yami."

Yami:" Surpass your limits, kid. I got to take a shit."
