Chapter 22: The baby has to be removed

When the doctor did not receive any reply he said to her

"Mrs Bon-Hwa, many people go on to have healthy babies after experiencing 'spotting' during their first trimester. So it might be spotting that you have been experiencing and it is not often cause for concern."

She raised herself from the bed, ignoring the needles piercing her hands.

"Doctor, the child has to be removed, I can't keep it." She said this with anger and bitterness.

All this while, Dan; Rohan's assistant had been silent, confused and wondering over everything.

But when Chin Cho told the doctor that the child should be removed, he said "no! the child is not going to be removed."

The man had been with Rohan for so many years and knew how Rohan's mind works.

Rohan loves children, and had often wished for one, he hated abortions and women who engage in it.

He preferred never to get a woman pregnant to getting a woman pregnant and subjecting her to removing an innocent child.

Not only was it detrimental to the health of the woman, but an innocent child, who did not ask to be conceived should not be tampered with. And to him it was also sinful.

Although the boss had been through a lot of things lately, including a suspected suicide attempt.

Will he still hold the same view? Will he love a child that was not his? Especially coming from a woman that he didn't care about.

These things bothered Dan. But even at that, he would not allow the woman to abort the foetus.

His boss was not here but he has to act on behalf of his boss.

"Why wouldn't the child be removed? What business of yours is it if I keep or not keep the child?" Chin Cho challenged the man, interrupting his thoughts.

The doctor sensing a fight between the two quietly excused himself and left the room.

"yes tell me, why I would not terminate the child?"

"my boss would not allow it if he were here."

And what business of your boss is it? The child is not his."

"the child might not be his but he is legally your husband and so has a right to such serious decision in your life."

At that statement, Chin Cho laughed in anger, and said to him "watch and see if I would not abort the child."

Not that she does not love children, but her life has been a bundle of miseries, and she was not willing to endure more of them.

This statement; 'watch and see if I would not abort the child' really troubled Dan and he quickly made arrangement for two female bodyguards for the woman.

Chin Cho had no idea that Dan had hired two trained female bodyguards for her. And they were staying in the hospital with her.

He had also warned the doctors and nurses to never let anybody know that Rohan and his wife had been admitted into the hospital.

Even the two female bodyguards did not know that Chin Cho was the wife of the Fernando heir.

Dan was particularly serious about not letting anybody know about his boss being in the hospital. Rohan has been in the media' eyes too often these days, and it is going to be very devastating for the media to know that he was nearly burnt to death on his wedding night. Worst still that he was even the one that orchestrated the fire.

Dan had told the two foreign bodyguards who were hired from overseas that Chin Cho was his wife, and wanted to do an abortion, so they should watch and see that she did not get the chance to do so. It was better to keep them ignorant of the whole deal.

No one can be trusted these days, even bodyguards, they might leak the issue of the Fernando heir attempting suicide.

So, the whole thing was shrouded in secret. The only people who knew that Rohan and his wife were involved in a fire accident and are in the hospital now were only two doctors, two nurses, Rohan's two bodyguards.

But those who knew that it was a suicide attempted by Rohan himself was only Dan and Rohan's twin sister.

And Dan had carefully warned all of them that no other person should know what happened.

Even Bon-Hwa Fernando himself; the grandfather of Rohan did not know what happened.

It had been kept from him. He was in his seventies, but his health was not very good. And would have love to be in the church for the marriage of his favourite grandchild, but Rohan had told him

"grandpa, do not bother to come out, I would bring my bride to come and visit you as soon as we come back from honeymoon."

The old man had agreed and believed that Rohan had gone to honeymoon with his new wife.

Rohan really meant what he said to the old man. He wanted to go on a long honeymoon with his wife, but after she ran away, forcing him to marry another woman, he had told his assistant "cancel the honeymoon reservations."

Although the old man had read in the papers that Rohan's wedding ceremony was interrupted, and the bride ran away, but the bride was later found, and marriage was successful.

The old man was not surprised, he knew that Rohan has a lot of skeleton on his cupboard. Especially when it comes to women, he has heard many stories, although no one has come to him personally to complain except Vera; Rohan's twin sister.

Things really turned upside down, and both husband and wife were now patients in their own hospital. And even if the incident did not happen, Rohan had no desire to take Chin Cho to his grandfather, considering the way he was feeling on the day of the wedding.

Because of the fire incident, Chin Cho lost her phone, as she was in the hospital the news of the pregnancy has compounded issues, she would have loved to call her father and demand for her mother's medical treatment he promised her for marrying the man. But the fire incident happened and she lost her phone.
