So throughout the five days she was in the hospital, she was not able to call her father or her mother.
Even if she had phone, she was too weak to make calls, she had no strength to explain anything to anybody.
What was she going to explain to her father? The pregnancy? Or the fire incidence?
What was she going to explain to her mother, the fire incidence? the pregnancy? Or the 'out of the blue' marriage.?
She would certainly not be able to explain any of these to her parents. And how about her best friend in the school or her fiancé who was also her school mate. It was better to keep silent.
And because of the silence, her mother had been calling her father insistently, and her father had been worried and kept calling Dan; the assistant to his son-in-law.
"Mr. Elvis, your daughter is fine, she has gone on a honey moon with her husband. She is a married woman for goodness sake, why are you so keen on seeing her." Dan said warily to Elvis as he continued to call him non-stop.
"why can't I speak with her on the phone, her phone is not reachable. And her mother is very worried."
"They do not want to be disturbed" Dan said and cut the call.
'they do not want to be disturbed?' Elvis repeated to himself. Both of them are strangers to each other, and now they are in a honeymoon, and do not even want to be disturb, how strange.
Love is mysterious.
Elvis called him again. Okay, can I at least have the phone number of the husband?"
Dan laughed "Mr. Elvis you want me to lose my job? well sorry I can't possible give you the boss phone number without his permission." He cut call again after saying this.
For the past two to three years Rohan started dating the daughter of Elvis; Chin Sun, all their communications with Elvis had been through Dan.
So presently, he did not even have the phone number of his son-in-law.
Other than his business lines, which either the secretary, general manager or his personal assistant would answer the call and relate any information to him if need be.
Rohan had his own private line.
His private line was only accessible to his twin sister and her husband, his grandfather, and personal assistant. Every other person would who want to call him always call through the personal assistant.
Dan knew his limit, if he dares gives that private line to any other person, he was in deep trouble.
The only person he had given it to without the boss's permission was Chin Cho; his legally married wife. He believed the boss would not mind, but the woman had lost both the phone and its contents to the fire incident.
...…..
Mr. Elvis had been worried about his daughter Chin Cho since the night of the wedding.
He had so many things to worry about. The marriage between Mr. Bon-Hwa Rohan and Chin Cho was too prompt.
Chin Cho was an innocent little fragile thing. Unlike her sister Chin Sun; who though younger was more experienced with men, rough, and stubborn and capable of dealing with the type of man Rohan was.
Rohan was a bad man and needed a bad woman like Chin Sun to contend with him. 'Chin Sun was as bad as her mother,' Elvis thought in his heart.
Even though he was not very fond of his daughter Chin Sun, but he was very reluctant to hand her over to Rohan Fernando. But he had no choice. The man wanted the girl, and the girl was willing to live with the man. The man was notorious for using and dumping women, and had never had a serious relationship.
He was not only bad with women; he was feared by many.
But since he met his daughter, he seemed to be showing her genuine love and had professed to love her so much.
Other than that, he was also owing Rohan's grandfather and could not pay. And the young man cancelled the debt in exchange for his daughter.
This was the major reason why he allowed his daughter to get married to Rohan Fernando.
But Elvis' wife Fatima had other ideas. She was the epitome of selfishness. All she wanted was for her daughter to marry the richest man in the country, the most powerful and most feared.
She would parade herself everywhere, she will certainly get whatever she wanted in this life, as the mother-in law of the Rohan Fernando.
Elvis had no idea of what would happen at the wedding. But to his greatest surprised it happened and his daughter from the woman he truly loved was now married to the man that he never trusts.
He loved Chin Cho's mother, but Fatima would not allow him to be close to the woman.
Well talking of trust, no man can be trusted. Even him was not trusted he was just as bad and weak as Rohan, but in his own way.
What he feared most was that Rohan would not love Chin Cho and would therefore treat her badly.
And if Rohan treats her badly, she would just turn out to be like her mother. She would become sick and useless.
But now his assistant has been talking of them being on a honeymoon, it means that the man fell in love with the girl at first sight. And the girl also like him.
Which type of girl would not like a man like Rohan Fernando; who was not only wealthy, but extremely handsome and powerful and has a way with women.
Elvis had been trying Chin Cho's line since the night of the wedding. But the line was not going, he had no idea that his daughter and the husband were nearly burnt to death on their wedding night.
When he could not reach her, he decided to relax, the girl would call him when the need arise.
