Will We Even Survive

Davie and his men were running when they were blocked by Fallen Moon's reinforcements. Those who had died in the beginning of the battle were now starting to come back to the area after a full hour of traveling.

They gathered together and formed a small army of 50,000 led by a few elites of Fallen Moon and Frozen Fire. The leaders who led the small force were already informed to blockade Davie and his forces from retreating, Kane didn't want the man who almost wiped his army to flee. Killing level 40 bosses were something but killing a level 70 NPC was another. The NPC's dropped everything they had when they died since they couldn't respawn like the players.

Davie was like a walking money bag since his armour and weapon were level 70. Items at that level would cost a hefty sum, with weapons costing at the minimum of 10 million UC. With Davie weilding an above average weapon it was no wonder Kane wanted him dead, afterall Davie wasn't the only one with high leveled items. His more than a hundred soldiers were mostly comprised of his elites who were slightly weaker than him.

Kane was already confident in annahilating Snow with his numbers advantage and together with the three demons he felt unstoppable. Everything was going his way, he had a smile everytime he hacked down a player. Blood was splattered on his face coupled with his creepy smile that continued to widen he looked like a maniac that enjoyed that savored every moment of bloodshed.

His core members were with him as they thrashed the lower levelled players down. The healers were keeping their health bars up and just like Snow who had items like the bone staff that had an overpowered ability. Fallen Moon was also able to monopolize it's own dungeon where they found a unique crystal called the 'Nature's Blessing'.

This nature's blessing crystal could be attached to an item that heavily buffed their stamina and endurance. The thirty man squad that Kane had formed was like a spearhead and tore through Snow's already fragile formation tearing it to bits.

Flake could hardly organize her army with chaos surrounded her, the demons, Kane's spearhead, and the hundreds of elites tore through her army.

Snow was way to stretched on this expedition, Snow's main objectives were the other two strongholds while this stronghold was a secondary one which was why no player within their ranks had a bone staff, one of Snow's trump cards just like Kane's spearhead.

Far away from this battle Winter was standing ontop of her newly captured stronghold. She could see everything from where she stood, the grassy plain was now flooded with blood. Parts of the strongholds walls were also stained with a lot of blood, they celebrated with gloomy expressions as they saw the aftermaths of their battle.

This would have been traumatic for most people but they were mostly used to such things. The sight of brutal battles of this caliber was normalized after the age of VRMMORPG's started.

Even with their countless experiences they still felt uncomfortable seeing this much blood first hand.

While the players were busy recovering from the bloodly battle Winter had opened her stat screen where she messaged Flake her bestfriend and right hand for a status check yet after a few minutes have passed Flake has yet to respond which was uncommon.

She looked at the direction of where the other stronghold was located with a disturbed feeling.

After a quick glance she turned and walked out of the stronghold together with fifty of her most powerful players. She didn't want to bring the whole army since they would only slow her down. It was best to bring the best players who could run at exceptional speed.

Davie and together with the left overs of his mighty army were comepletely surrounded by over 100,000 players from both Fallen Moon and Frozen Fire. They were comepletely helpless and slowly their numbers continued to dwindle. They held nothing back giving everything they had with every movement comepletely calculated. They were like a singular unit that was made to kill, their synchronization and ability to work well with their allies was something else.

Davie knew that they would sooner or laters succumb to their depleting stamina and it was best to find a way to run. They had to push in one side and escape the encirclement. Therefore Davie led his army to push on one side steam rolling everyone in their path as if they were slicing a hot knife through butter.

"Don't let them escape! Use everything you have to hold them back at all costs!" The players were hounding the NPC's like a pack of jackals against a wounded lion who was bleeding from its wounds.

A player who was infront of Davie's army placed a scroll on the ground summoning another demon, this time it was a level 55 demon who weilded four swords with its four hands.

When Davie saw the overbearing demon infront it made him shudder. "Not another one..."

"Don't worry captain we'll sacrifice ourselves! Make sure to live!" A buffed man who wore plated armour shouted as he charged towards the demon together with four other NPC's. They were a complete 5 man squad with every role filled. The demon would have no way of breaking past five of them in a few minutes giving the others the chance to escape.

Davie wanted to tear up after what his comrades had done, he wanted to fulfill their wish. "I need to live."

Davie and his comrades fought until the bitter end as they massacred the players infront of them until they had finally escaped the encirclement, but in the end only a handful of them had survived. All of those who survived could only be counted in two hands. The previously 15 thousand NPC strong army who had the capabilities of wiping out Fallen Moon and Frozen Fire's coalition now only had 6 survivors.

Davie and his men that survived kept running and running sometimes taking a glance behind them remembering their fallen comrades. But before they could finally say they've lived to see another day, someone had appeared before them.

A cloaked man was standing before them who was sitting on top of a golem with a staff made of bones, a skull was on it's tip and the staff eminated a green glow.

Weirldy somehow the fresh feeling that they had previously felt upon entering this forest was replaced with an eery feel, it felt like entering a haunted house but rather than ghosts they were approached by skeletons. 40 skeleton warriors and 3 skeleton knights.

"Will we even survive." These were the words that was muttured by one of Davie's men.
