Chapter 28: Repentance

Recap:

So when lunchtime hit they all spit up, agreeing to meet up at the food court at 1:30 pm to leave.

Suijin ended up going with Mina to get her sandwich, and Kirishima broke off from them waiting in a huge line to get the meat lovers 3000x, some new American deal.

As Mina got her food and was eating while walking, Suijin was slurping the concoctions he had combined into a container, they got to the topic of their rocky friend.

"Kirishima…cool?" Mina has a confused expression on her face.

"Yeah, his demeanor is frank and his hair and personality make him stand out."

"Oh right…I forgot…"

"Common, you're not just gonna leave me hanging there right?"

"It's nothing, just that he wasn't like that in the past. He was more reserved, but an event where he was forced to protect me and my friends changed him. From then on he preached about being manly."

"That's why you're working hard?"

"Yeah, to become strong enough to support myself on my own two feet."

Suijin noticed the brightening of her downcast expression and high fives himself. He was just about to direct the topic of conversation to hero names when he saw something.

Some people, dressed in all black turn into an empty store along with an unwilling participant.

Looking ahead at the woman kicking and screaming Suijins face hardens. He puts his mug in his bag and turns to Mina who also seems to have noticed.

She also takes the last of her bites and seems ready to go and deal with the criminals but Suijin stops her with a grab on her shoulder

Turning around with a confused expression Suijin explains.

"Let me deal with it."

"But-"

"Mina there's other things that need to be done. I can get there in time and have the non-lethal quirk, plus appear more intimidating. One of us needs to inform the mall security and heroes stationed here before they get away without alerting them."

"You are the fastest in running with or without our quirks, we each are suitable to a certain job, and right now you're most suitable to inform. You'll need to go-"

"I remember where the heroes are, on the other side of the building."

Nodding his head Suijin put his bag on a nearby bench hoping it wouldn't get stolen. He turned around to find a complicated expression on Mina's face before she shook her head and ran off.

'Haiz, I didn't want to say it so bluntly but I didn't know how to phrase it. Her quirk would cause damage to the Mall, and considering we're unlicensed Heroes about to technically commit a crime I don't want to add to the scolding we'll undoubtedly get.'

'Not to mention with me having a hero father and being in this situation before, adding on if anything I technically have connections to All Might I can be shielded from most repercussions.'

Turning around, Suijin ran into the store. There was a door with a broken handle and sounds of someone pleading could be heard from behind it.

Opening the door and looking inside Suijin saw a store barren of everything, apparently cleaned out. The walls were white and there was no light, but the sun coming in from the glass overhead in the mall showed the scene.

He saw two thugs asking fiercely for the Women's wallet while she crouches on the ground clutching herself apparently falling into a panic attack.

The criminals (excluding himself) widen their eyes seeing Suijin in the doorway.

"Hey-"

Was all one of them could get out as a jet of water landed on his chest, not powerful enough to cave it in, but enough to knock the winds out of him and turn him temporarily incapacitated.

'I really need to change its name. Jet is too repetitive, from now on it's going to be Water Bullet, Piercing Bullet for thin shots to trace blood, and Blunt bullets to cause bruises.'

Finishing his conversation with himself, Suijin noticed the other Robber had unlocked himself from his stupor.

A fist enlarged making it as big as two of Shoji's arms put together coming towards Suijins face, Suijin dodged to the left, doing a barrel roll, then with the other person's Mass being off balance Suijin sent a Blunt Shot at his legs knocking him onto the floor.

Suijin then focused on the victim who was fortunately safe. He grabbed her waist and jumped back from the other two.

Putting her on the ground, her eyes regained clarity and as the situation registered once again about how she was robbed and almost had something 'worse' done, not that Suijin knew about, she screamed.

So a screaming woman ran out of the now unlocked door and caused a mass panic.

'Mina should have gotten the Heros on duty.'

Suijin noted the two were trying to stand up, and a rope was telekinetically floating towards him from behind his head.

Unfortunately for them Suijin's head moved at a 180 angle making their 'sneak attack' useless, so turning it around and grasping the rope Suijin returned his head to its normal position.

Then two blunt shots to the ankle of each villain sent them tumbling down once again, a few knots later and they were successfully apprehended.

Looking at the miserable pair Suijin couldn't help but think to himself, 'Those training lessons with Dad really pay off. Sure I caught them off guard but this was the first pair of villains I defeated.'

"Damned Hero, you're that guy that hangs around Katsuratanimachi near the Dock. I'm not telling you anything."

'Wow, Dad is famous. Though these nimwits can't even tell the difference. Not that anyone even tries to tell the difference when it comes to Mutants.'

Gripping their hair Suijin got into character.

"Keep Yapping and your Jaw's gonna end up on the floor."

Giving them a demonstration Suijin sent a Piercing shot at a 90-degree angle aiming so it ended up in the pond next to the mall.

The layers of wooden boards pierced through and struck fear in the villain's heart.

'Dad's persona of a scary person to villains is annoying, though as he said 'Nice people in the world of heroes have their lunch stolen from them.' Too nice and these guys misunderstood the situation.

'That should shut them up for a while.'

Sitting on an adjacent chair that previously held their bags, Suijin looked through the open door waiting for the real pros to come. But the silence is short-lived as the shameless villains open their mouths.

"Big Bro we're wrong!"

"Please don't kill us!"

'Wha-'

"We'll promise to turn to a life of good."

'Not even 2 minutes ago you were trying to rob a woman in broad daylight!'

Suijin gave them an unimpressed look, though his face made his intentions nearly unreadable for those who didn't know him well. That unknowingness of what he was thinking scared the duo even more.

"Boss Please!"

"Boss!"

The cries of the two men could be heard throughout the room, if anyone walked in they'd think Suijin was a Yakuza 'educating' his subordinates.

"Oi-"

"Yes boss, we'll tell you our life story."

'How'd you come to that conclusion from a simple 'Oi'!

"Once upon a time-"

Not wanting to deal with their foolishness much longer, but also intrigued as to why villains turned to a life of crime Suijin cut in.

"Hurry up."

"Yes, Boss!"

"Two brothers were poor and didn't have anything, their parents abandoned them in the slums, and the brothers grew up surviving on scraps and handouts. But as they grew older those grew infrequently."

"The brothers, forced by the circumstance, turned to a life of crime. Nothing more than a petty crime of robbery here and there-"

'Robbery isn't exactly petty.'

"But then the gracious, magnificent boss, sent from heaven as a divine angels, showed the brothers the right way. Not with stealing but with your own hard work, the brothers plead with heaven's exalted one to allow them to right their wrongs."

Suijin had a thoughtful expression, his hand moving to support his 'head'. The brothers could read this and excitement laced their faces.

Yet Suijin's words were the opposite of what they wanted to hear.

"Did her words have no meaning?"

"Huh?"

"Boss?"

"Her words, indignation, pleading with you to let her go. Did they have no meaning?"

An unnatural silence ensued as the peppy villain had no rebuttal.

"Not once have you apologized for this event today? No sympathy could be heard in your voice, your expressions of a sly weasel gives you away."

Their expressions hardened like a child getting caught doing something they knew was bad.

"Remorse, heh, impossible without repentance."

Then the familiar silence went about.

Suijin hated liars, people treated him like sh*t but most were honest about it. But liars were his pet peeve, he couldn't understand.

'If even obese men are willing to talk down to him truthfully, why couldn't they?'

He knew the answer, but the dislike of liars all but stayed the same. They disgusted him, a snake slithering about, sometimes he wanted to grab their throats and sli-

A figure walked through, police uniform donned.

He looked at Suijin and the villains, with Suijins presenting expressions 4 more police officers cuffed and dragged the villains out of the room.

But as if their previous silence was a lie they started thrashing about.

"Boss!"

"DIE YOU, Hero!"

"YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT OUR LIVES."

Their screaming words drowned out as they went down the hall. The officer in charge walked up to Suijin, placing a hand on his shoulder as Suijin did to Mina, and said, "If you could come with me."
