Ryusei Takahashi

The moment I saw the light in my dying state, I knew I was given a second chance. I was born with a weak heart and brain. I could not function like a normal human.

I couldn't run without throwing up all the food in my stomach. I couldn't concentrate too much on anything without getting a terrible headache. I stayed in my room even though I wanted to move around.

At the age of 15, I died quietly in my bed. At first, I missed my parents. But slowly, I came to accept the truth.

Being a baby again was a living nightmare but it was fun. I was afraid. Afraid of a strange disease coming into my life. Perhaps, I was afraid of different things because the world I was born into was more bizarre.

This world had superheroes. I knew of heroes in my old world. Superman, spiderman, batman. I read a few of them before I felt a headache. I wished someone would save me from my illness. I wished I could be like them.

Now, I am trying to be like them.

" Ryu! " A sweet voice came behind the door, followed by a gentle knock. " Are you awake? "

" Yes, wait a minute, Mom. " Ryusei replied while packing his backpack. He threw a few snacks and a lot of sweet candy. Some pencils and gym clothes.

After all the packing, he went to the washroom. In the mirror was a young man at the age of 15, with black hair and a bit of an average-looking face. He wet his face and went to the downstairs.

In the living room, he saw his father, reading a newspaper. The sweet scent of cooked bread came from the kitchen.

" You are going to be late, Son. " His father spoke. " Need a lift? "

Ryusei shook his head. " It is fine. "

I can just teleport to the UA if I can not make it in time. Ryusei thought as he went to the kitchen to grab a sweet bread.

" You can't use your Quirk. " His father said reading his thoughts instantly.

Ryusei blew a whistle and muttered. " It is annoying. "

" We knew but it is a rule, Son. Now, hurry up. "

Ryusei nodded and grabbed the sweet bread. He smelled the bread and smiled. " I will take this. "

He walked to the door.

" Do your best. "

" Don't push yourself too hard. "

Two voices sounded behind him. Ryu turned around and said, " I will ace this test. "

He headed to the train station. Because it was a rush hour, he didn't get to find a seat. While waiting he saw Mt. lady walking in her giant form. His eyes gleaned in excitement.

Must be nice to use Quirk. Oh, she caught a villain. I wonder what Quirk the villain has? I will just look it up on the internet after the exam.

Ryu closed his eyes and sensed his energy somewhere in front of the UA. He purposefully marked the place. He opened his eyes and sighed.

Too bad I can't use my Quirk.

He looked at his hand and gathered the blue energy around the palm. Although the energy was visible to him, the same can not be said about the others.

After a few minutes, Ryu arrived at the UA.

So many people. I wonder if I can find a familiar face. Ryu looked around. His senses caught that someone was about to bump into the person beside him. So he turned around and took the hand and dragged the person near him.

Invisible?

He looked ahead and saw nothing in front of him. His sense and the touch on his palm were not wrong.

" Thank. " A voice came out. It was a girl.

Ryu nodded and asked. " You don't bring a backpack? "

" I brought it but I forgot to bring my pen case. So I am going to buy it outside the school. "

" You can borrow mine. " Ryu said. " The test is about to begin right? "

" Thanks. " She said in a bright tone. " Oh, my name is Toru Hagakure. "

" I am Ryusei Takahashi. Call me Ryu for short. Can you show me the way? "

" Sure. " Toru said. " How did you find me? I am in my serious mood. "

" It is because of my Quirk. " Ryu explained.

" You can see invisible things?! " She said in a frightened tone.

Ryu could sense the embarrassment in her movement. So he quickly explained his words in detail.

" No. No. I can't see invisible things. I can sense it. My Quirk allows me to sense everything around me like an echolocation but more advanced. More detailed. "

" Thank god. " She muttered.

Is she fully naked? Can't control her Quirk? Must be some stressful Quirk like mine. But I can see her aura so she must have a way of controlling her power.

Ryu arrived at his seat and the exam began. Having experienced a second life, he easily answered the test.

After that, they gave the student the resting period before calling all of the students to a meeting room.

" Now that the written test is finished. We can move on from the boring part. " The man in the microphone said vigorously. " Let's start the fun part. "

In his energetic presentation, there was no soul-moving or saying. Expect the green-haired guy muttering in the crowd.
