After that…
Villains were pinned against buildings everywhere.
The same message over and over was spreading all around.
All the Jail escapees were pinned one after the other.
There was even a case where a witness saw a Villain running away asking for help before being killed in the street and pinned to a building by his head.
Even Gigantification Villains were nailed to buildings with telephone poles!
Sickening villains like Dictator had their arms and legs ripped off, ripping to the building separately.
Bullet was like a one man army. A grim reaper coming for the souls of the wicked.
His fans were frantically defending him on all fronts, but more people started denouncing his actions as villainous crimes!
Suddenly, a Question popped out among the masses…
'The Heroes watch over us, but who watches over the Heroes?'
This sentence spread like the plague!
Bullet's notoriety shot through the roof after this sentence was uttered. All the media outlets spoke about this, some of them adamantly defending him saying that he was just trying to make it safer for everyone else despite his extreme actions, he was still a Hero.
While others continued to denounce him! Saying that despite the positives, this was setting a negative example of what a hero should be! Clamoring for him to be arrested!
Bullet watched this all from a roof and smiled to himself.
Good.
This was what he was hoping for, if he was being honest. Bullet himself realized that if you really wanted to change the world, you need to be famous. Despite his distaste for fame, he still did what he did.
Of course it was the wrong thing to do. How many children watched that video?
Bullet sighed to himself, finding himself agreeing with Stain's words more and more.
All for the sake of a better society…
He jumped away and went to continue working.
He was happy with the way things were going. People were less and less scared each day. Not only that… But they didn't even mention his Quirkless state once. The topic changed from what brought about such a lunatic.
Some experts analyzed that due to the increasing rates of condemnation, more people are forced to dark parts of the world.
Bullet swung past buildings, smiling gently as the news broadcasts flashed in his mind.
"I believe we are witnessing the consequences of abandoning those who need help."
"Fighting to survive for food for years, it's no wonder he does this. He doesn't know anything else!"
"Growing up on the run from police but surrounded by Hero advertising, this is a twisted form of Justice! More than condemning these crimes, we should focus on how to prevent people from becoming like this!"
"Nothing turns up at all when you look for anything pertaining to a history. Nameless is a ghost! How many more will be inspired by this twisted sense of justice in the years to come!? We need to focus on providing aid and forgiving minor mistakes!"
"Jin Bubaigawara's record was dug up in the midst! An idiot ran into his motorcycle without looking and he lost his job and home?! No wonder he became a villain! He didn't have a choice! We cast aside these people who need help like trash, of course some twisted ones slip through!"
"Not for nothing, but Nameless is right. We need to start stepping up! Maybe not as vigilantes or fighting villains, but helping people in need needs to be a priority! At any rate, if this lunatic can do it, why can't I?!"
"We can all be Heroes in our everyday lives. You don't need a costume to help someone!"
Bullet shot through a window and shot out with a smile on his face.
One day, they'll learn!
No matter how bloody my hands become.
The message will get across!
Surely!
But he couldn't help but feel sad… he was so tired… and he missed his friends… Most of all he missed Aizawa and Mei.
He went to see Kaina every now and then, she was recovering after a life saving surgery. Afterwards he would sneak to the window and replace her flowers every few days.
Nobody knew where these flowers came from.
Tonight, however, was special…
Bullet was laying in an alley, curled up in a trash heap. He just needed a little rest, only a little bit…
It was raining heavily.
Bullet laid in the trash as the rain clinked off his armor, he looked at the trash in a daze, laughing softly. He ended up right where he began, how funny was this?
His armor was in tatters, even his metal arms were like something from a horror movie. The binding cloth had many knots in places to keep it together along with metal wires sewing back rips and tears.
His slotted helmet was destroyed at the bottom, making the slots sharp at the end, resembling a vague skull shape.
Tape and wires kept his right gun arm together…
He looked ragged and seemed to fit right in with the trash around him.
Suddenly, Bullet didn't hear any more clinks.
He looked up, thinking the rain stopped, but was instead greeted by Mei looking at him, holding an umbrella as she asked softly "Are you tired, hero?" Bullet teared up and turned back, shaking his head.
Mei squatted down and took off his mask, looking at his dirty face that had black rings around his eyes, as tired as can be. His eyes were a little blurry and he even had a stubble.
However, Mei only noticed that extreme exhaustion in his eyes. The exhaustion of the mind and soul, she stroked his cheek and asked gently while tearing up, "Can you come back to me, baby? I have all the time in the world for you now."
Tears escaped his eyes as he said softly "I can't. Everything I did made sure of it." Mei wiped his tears and got on her knees in the trash, pulling him into her arms, dropping the umbrella.
She hugged him, dirtying herself as she said "I don't care. I don't care about any of it. You've killed them before, you kill them now, the only difference is it's public now. I don't care about what you did at all, I only care about you." Mei lifted his cheeks and smiled gently, adding "It's hard to sleep without you in my arms, you know?"
Bullet burst into tears as he looked at her, sniffling, "Me too…" Mei kissed him and pulled him in, smiling "So then come back to me. I miss you. We can deal with it after… As for coming back…"
Bullet looked behind her as all of Class-1A, including Izuku, Class-1B, Aizawa, Midnight, Nezu, All-Might, Endeavor, Hawks, Mirio, Tamaki, Nejire, Mt. Lady, Kamui Woods, Edge Shot, Best Jeanist, the rest of the Teachers at UA, and even Nezu were standing around.
They were everywhere.
Bullet closed his eyes as Nezu said "Once you become a student at UA, you are always a student. Sure, many students may stumble and walk on a dark path, but that doesn't mean you can't turn back!"
Izuku said sincerely "Come back, Bullet. We'll go together. It doesn't matter anymore, All For One is more important now!" Aizawa sighed and walked over, patting his head, saying gently "Must've been tough on you."
Bullet grit his teeth and tears escaped his eyelids, but he smiled brightly "N-Not so bad… Izuku looks worse…" Izuku paused and Ochako grabbed his hand, giggling.
Everyone smiled slightly.
Nemuri walked over and stroked his cheeks, smiling gently "Just rest." Bullet looked dazed for a moment before mumbling "Sorry… everyone…" as he fell asleep, hanging from Mei's arms…
Aizawa picked him up and put him on his back, sighing "Let's go." Mei followed him worriedly, saying "He's gonna be fine, right?!" Nezu nodded, saying firmly "I guarantee it." Mei let out a breath of relief and smiled happily as they all returned back to UA.
