The Tech Tournament (2)

An hour after the explosion-

One could see Yui yelling at Oki.

" You are so in trouble, Oki !"

" I was... was just tinkering with my inventions."

" Where did you get- ... wait, you invented them?!"

" En ", Oki replied with a nod.

Hearing the reply, Yui started to remember the time when Nighteye saw the future of Oki.

' The tournament spans all over the world, and the kid's project wins, and this tournament is under the leading scientists and the main judge of all things being David Shield. He gets an invite from what I could see, from David Shield, but after that, I couldn't see what happened afterwards.'

' Could this be what he saw? Is Oki preparing for that tournament?'

" Oki, what are you making in the first place ?"

Hearing this, Oki didn't know what to tell her.

' I am making a super cool sword that can cut through anything as if it was butter.'

' I am making a... oh wait, this should work.'

" I am trying to convert radioactivity into electricity in a simple yet effective way. "

Yui had her eyes wide opened, and Oki is pretty sure that he could see that the pupils of Yui's eyes enlarging.

" Well... what items do you need?"

Oki's thought became turmoil ' What kind of question is that? Why didn't you ask where did I even get a radioactive material? How could you let a ten year old kid play with radioactivity? That was just something I just made up to cover the super dangerous item I bought! '

Though Oki wanted to say no, Yui had already left him and went towards the Orphanage. Looking at the excited cat like the behaviour of Yui, Oki couldn't tell no to her, well he wanted, but the cat had runoff.

Oki adjusted his current feelings... at least try to, as he still couldn't get around how Yui acted a few minutes ago.

Oki just sighed and moved towards the explosion site as he was barred from going there by Yui before.

After reaching the site where the concentrated force energy from his tinkered lightsaber fell, Oki could feel his hair standing up and his ' Instinct ' trigger. This made Oki cautious, so he just observed from the side as he studied this phenomenon as it could be said as static electricity, but it wasn't.

Oki continued to taking mental notes for few more minutes, and then Oki saw an unstable small string of energy just bouncing here and there in the 10 meter diameter crater. The energy string was so small and fast that a normal human eye couldn't notice it.

Oki turned from cautious to curiousness, and it overwhelmed the latter by a considerable margin. Oki stepped and soon found the pattern of the energy string, which was bouncing from one place to another. Oki moves towards the centre of the explosion as he deducted that the energy would pass here, and so it did and seeing the energy, Oki moved his hands and touched it at the place the energy was going to strike, and the contact was made.

Oki felt the energy disappear entirely from the field but nothing else but slight pain. Oki stood at the epicentre of the explosion crater for a few more minutes. He noticed that the energy was no more made Oki disappointed in his actions as he slowly started to think of ways of capturing the energy. But, the slight pain at his right index finger a few minutes ago was no more.

Oki thought of conducting the test some other day but, his finger flared, and all he could feel was numbing pain. Oki lost his sense over his right index finger, and by every second the pain was growing, Oki's heart started to beat faster and faster, and it came to the point that Oki could hear his heartbeat, loud and clear.

After a long time, Oki felt an expression, a feeling he has probably forgotten ' Fear '. Oki feared he would die. Oki feared that he would waste the new life he was given, but soon, he also felt anger, hate, and greed. ( A/N- Darkside of the force )

Oki felt his emotions in haywire soon after he started to notice the adrenaline levels. Oki slowly calmed his mind. Though Calm Mind sounded as if the person who posses would always be calm, it never was the case, and it only tells the person when to be calm or gives signals that it is time for the person to calm down just like now, and it also helps in calming the person faster.

Oki soon sorted his emotions and calmed down, only for him to see him in front of himself.

Soon the imposter started to change into a red abomination. Oki felt no emotions seeing the abomination as he already deduced a theory of why this was happening.

" You won't have peace in your life, " The abomination said, and it added an evil laugh, and its hoarse voice made Oki laugh along with it, the only difference was that Oki was laughing because he felt the whole ordeal felt funny while the abomination laughed because... is it evil?

" Why are you laughing? What I said will indeed be your future, and you think it's funny? "

" Yeah, I believe you. As if, hahaha."

" Hmm, I will give you power- "

" No! "

" Why? You will regret your choice so- "

" Nah, I am confident if not overconfident, but... I will never sacrifice something for power whether it may be something I have or others have- "

" You know you won't move forward, right? "

"..."

Oki pondered over the words and stayed silent. He didn't talk to the abomination, and it is a general common sense that nothing is free and everything has a price, and for power, it would be something extraordinary unless you work for it. The price for power will always cost you something more, and he didn't want to sell it, and he also knew the abomination is a mental image or something closer.

" Well, you will search for me in future but too bad, you won't find me then."

The abomination started to dissipate, and the next thing Oki knew was he was standing at the epicentre of the crater.

' Was I in an illusion the whole time !?'

' That talk was... awkward and short.'

Oki sighed and strode towards the Orphanage while also thinking about the words that the abomination spoke.

Soon after the dinner, Oki held a blueprint in his dormitory with the title ' Arc-Reactor Prototype '.

Oki used this as a base and changed his blueprints.
