9 Quirk Awakening

In the Kageyama household, we can see Haruto lying on his bed with Hana sitting on a chair near him. Sho and Hina were worried after hearing the frantic shouting of Hana, and when they saw Haruto lying on the floor unconsciously, their worries only increased. After laying him down on his bed, they called for Recovery Girl to check up on him, and she hasn't reached here yet.

As they were waiting for her to come, Haruto slowly woke up from his unconsciousness and slowly sat up. Seeing him waking up, Hana jumped on to him, hugged him tightly, and cried her eyes out, "Brother, don't... *sob*... do... *sob*...that... *sob*..to... me." She spoke while crying.

"It's all right. I won't do that to you again." He consoled her for some time before she cried to sleep.

Confused, he looked at his parents for some answers, and they just shook their heads, indicating that they didn't know what happened to him. Then he asked Axel, "Axel, speak to me, buddy.'

[Sir, your quirk has been manifested, and it has also awakened at the same time.] Your quirk umbrakinesis was the first to awaken; because of that, you lost consciousness, and because of your mutation, the techno-organic wings have also awakened.

'Anything else of that matter?'

[Yes Sir. Due to you injecting yourself with a modified Super Soldier serum, when you manifested your quirk, your body changed.

[Now you have two claws from both your hands and a single claw on both your feet, sir.]

'Like X-23?'

[Yes Sir.]

'How did that happen?'

After the analysis of the serum, it's possible that it contained the DNA of Wolverine, and adding the DNA of an Appoplexian just made it stronger.

[So when you manifested your quirk, the serum also changed inside you, sir.]

'Alright, let's just say that I have a bird's physiology. That's the only explanation I can give them. And Axel scans my whole body and shows me the analysis at night.'

As Haruto's conversation with Axel ended, Recovery Girl entered the room. Seeing Haruto sitting straight without any problem, she looked at her old friends and said, "You said he was unconscious, right?"

"He just woke up now, Chiyo; don't get feisty." Hina replied.

"Mmmm. Since he fell unconscious, I'll check him out. I can't have the Shadow duo on my back." She said that she moved towards Haruto, observed him for some time, and said, "I'll need equipment to really know what happened to him."

As Sho was about to leave to get the equipment, Haruto said, "No need. I think that I've manifested my quirk."

When they heard this, they froze in place, looked at him, and asked in unison, "Really? How do you know that?"

"Because of this." He said that he showed them the two claws protruding out of his knuckles on his hand. Seeing this, Chiyo said, "Let's take him to UA. We'll do a full checkup to know what his quirk is."

"Alright, let's do that. Haru, change your clothes; we're going to UA." Saying that Sho picked up Hana from Haruto's hand and went outside with the rest.

As soon as they left, he spoke to Axeel: 'Axe, deactivate all security measures for an hour or two.'

[Affirmative Sir.]

As they reached UA, they first went towards the principal office. Reaching there, Chiyo entered first, followed by Sho, Hina, and Haruto, with Hana in his hands, sleeping. They didn't wake her up since she's been crying nonstop for almost an hour since he went unconscious.

Chiyo spoke to Nezu first: "Nezu, we need to use the equipment in the school to check what quirk Haruto has."

"A late quirk manifestation?"

"Yes. Si, we need to find out what his quirk is, so I'll be using the equipment in here."

"Alright, permission granted. I'll be with you in a second."

After getting Nezu's permission, they went towards the quirk assessment area to check what kind of quirk Haruto manifested.

Reaching there, he was hooked up to some machines, and the readings showed some results. Looking at them, Chiyo spoke to Haruto. "From the test, it shows that your body has changed, meaning you have a physical mutation and another quirk that is showing to be related to shadowiness or darkness. So why don't you try to feel the difference in your body?"

"Alright." He said that he closed his eyes and popped his claws from his hands and feet, and a couple of seconds later, from his back, a pair of black wings formed with a blue metallic sheen over them. It's spanned twenty feet, from wingtip to wingtip, and as he spread his wings, the shadow around him started to move around with his movements.

Seeing this, Chiyo said, "It seems he has a mutation in Hawks physiology and control over darkness and shadow. That's some pretty powerful quirk he has; no wonder his quirk manifested late."

Nezu, who has been observing this with them, spoke after hearing this: "Well, now we have a shadow prince from the king and queen." He joked first and spoke with seriousness: "You do have the choice to recommend UA. So let him attend the Hero course, okay?"

"But we haven't asked him what he wants to become." Hina said.

Sho was about to say something, but he was interrupted by Hana, who woke up. Seeing her brother with wings, she shouted, "Brother is an angel!!!!"

Hearing her shout, Haruto opened his eyes, looked at her, and said, "For you, I am."
