Mated To The Enemy: Loving The Wolf

As a princess, my life shall be dreamy and full of happiness. Yet, this is not what it’s all about. My name is Tiana, daughter of king ‘Luther Dunkan’ – the dark vampire king, and … Well, I know nothing about my own mother, and I care less about the one who gave up on me when I needed her the most. I’m nearly reaching my 200 years, the legitimate age for me to take hold of my rights as a vampire queen. Yet, as a female vampire – I need a male vampire to rule by my side. Though I believe I’m a queen that needs no king by her side, still I have to pick someone. Things shall have to go smoothly, pick a noble, true blood vampire, marry him and rule together, and pretend to have your happy ending. See, easy and smooth things were not part of my fate, and I happened to learn that only when I met him - my destined mate.

How far would you go in order to see her alive again?

Tiana's point of view:

I stood still near my grandma's lifeless body, then decided to leave. It all seems like a nightmare to me, and I'm feeling lost. The only rational thing that seemed left to be done was to leave.

I'm leaving this pack for now, and I hope that the witch my grandma knows could've to get rid of the spell. I shifted for a second time to my hybrid; I swear this is the most painful thing I've ever done in my entire life.

Then I stayed running at my full speed. I know, none of them dares to follow me. Still, I wanted to leave this territory no matter what cost me.

While running, I heard a tiny heartbeat and decided to ignore it. Still, the heartbeats got stronger and stronger until the lifeless body of my grandma became full of life.

I didn't know where I was standing, but I was sure I was finally out of Tristan's pack territory.

I lay my grandma's naked body, then waited to see what's going to happen. A few hours, and before the moon was gone, my grandma woke up.

" You're not dead?" I asked her, and she answered,

" I'm immortal! And that's no way to kill me…"

I nodded since my mind started accepting all the weird aspects I'm meeting nowadays.

" How to kill you?" I asked, not minding my question, which caused her to snap at me.

" Why? Do you have any interest in killing me?"

" No, I don't! Why would I want such a thing? I just don't seem to understand a thing," I honestly told her.

" You don't have to… Just follow me."

Not seeing anything related wrong with the entire situation, I decided to follow her.

In a few minutes, we were in front of a huge house, then Juana moved toward the door that busted open by itself, and I did just like her.

"Agatha!" She shouted, but no one answered her, but she kept making her way toward a lady that seemed in her forties.

"Speak down Juana! How many times shall I remind you that my ears are nothing like your werewolves' ears?" The other woman spoke gently while drinking what seemed to be tea.

" I thought you missed me, old lady…"

She started, but the other lady, Agatha, cut her out of speech.

" I thought the same, but not when you broke into my house naked and covered with blood."

Although she seemed to look serious, the way they were looking at each other was quite soft and full of care.

She then looked at me, then looked back at my grandma.

" Is that her?"

Grandma nodded and the other lady got serious for real this time before she asked my grandma.

" Can we have a word? In my office?"

" I was about to ask for the same thing." My grandma started, then decided to continue. " How about you sit here, and I'll bring Lidia to help you clean and change yourself."

" Sure…" That was all I said. I was exhausted, and not in the mood for anything.

Indeed, in a matter of seconds. A human girl that was wearing a maid outfit led me to a room in which I took a real fresh shower. Then I changed into a blue satiated dress.

The same girl, Lidia, I guess her name was, led me back to where I first was, only to meet up with both ladies waiting for me.

The way they were looking at me got me wondering if anything was wrong with me.

Before that I asked, Juana spoke.

"That was my Talia's favorite dress… She looks quite like her!" started the old lady, but my grandma finished for her.

" Are you interested in meeting your mother? How far would you go to see her alive again?"

Although I was sure that I'd seen many weird things these past few days, still, I swear to God this was too much for me to take.

" What are you talking about?"

" I want you to help me get my daughter back!" My grandma started sobbing, and my heart ashed. I tried to be open to the entire idea, but I can't deny it's hard.

" Is this even possible, granny?"

"Magic makes everything possible, child!" Started the lady, Agatha, and my grandma continued for her.

" I'll explain it all to you, but first, how about you call me by Juana instead of granny. You make me feel old."

Agatha snapped at her,

" You are old... That's a fact!"

I will admit it, it would kind of make me laugh if I wasn't thinking about what's all happening around me.

" How about that one of you explain it to me!" I cut them, teasing them off politely since all I want right is to know about what I've been missing.

" As Agatha said, there's nothing that magic can't do. The thing is that magic has its rules, and if you want something you need to give another thing in exchange."

" I still don't get it!" I told her honestly."

She then explained further.

" Take you, vampires, as an example. To survive, you feed on other living creatures." Something about the way she described it made it sound cruel, yet, nothing was unreal. " The magic works the same, I gave up something to live forever."

A weird silence consumed meanwhile my curiosity wasn't fed the right way.

" What have you given up, and how is it related to my mother?"

" What I gave is none of your concerns, and how is it related to your mother? It isn't. Yet, there's a way you can help me get her back..."

" Which is?"

" Her body, Agatha, cast a spell on Talia's body when she had just died. Her body is still safe and protected. All I need is to have it back to bring my daughter back."

" Wait, you don't have it with you?" I asked, and she shook her head, suggesting that she didn't.

" Where is it?" I re-asked again.

" Only your father knows!"

I breathed in and out, trying to realize what she was saying.

" You want to tell me that my father knows a way to resurrect my mother. And instead of having her back, he preferred to live his life in pain instead of having back the only person he loved in his entire life. That doesn't make sense…"

Her soft appearance changed as she wasn't able to control her anger. For a while, I swore that I could believe seeing her wolf in control.

" No one knows what happened that night, or what will happen if she's back. And your father isn't someone you can trust, he killed his brother for the throne, and accused him of treason…"

I shut her down since I hated hearing her speak that way about my father.

" … That's not real, I refuse to believe you!"

" You are free to refuse as much as you want… Still, deep inside, you know that I've been nothing but honest to you since the first day I met you. On the other hand, everyone around you, including your father, he did nothing but to lie at you, deceive you, and play games on you."

As much as I hated to admit it, she was right, and I can't hide it.

" What do you want me to do?"

" You'll go back to the palace, act normally as with what your father plans for you…"

"… That's impossible!" I cut her off, and she was like "why?"

" The first thing I'd do is to expose Aeron for the treason he committed, he was the one making an alliance with werewolves to kidnap me. Worst of all, he wanted to kill me!"

" I know!" she exclaimed. " Still, tell me what happens if your father knows about Aeron."

" He would kill him, and make him regret the day he decided to harm me!" I explained while being confident about each and every world busting out of my mouth.

" … What after?" She asked, but something about the way she was speaking revealed that she wasn't confident with the way I was handling the situation.

" I don't know…" I told her honestly, and she was like while rolling her eyes.

"Of course, you don't know, but I will tell you instead… Well, the worst that can happen to Aeron is that he would be killed by your father. As for you, you'll always be in danger since we don't know who's behind Aeron. Your father made a lot of enemies, and you don't know who's among them is after you, the reason why – you have to think rationally before acting up!"

" What should I do?"

A scary smile was drawn on her face before she started explaining.

" Now listen carefully, darling… First, we'll help you back to the palace. Then, you won't expose Aeron, instead, use what you know about him to control him. The most important part is that you have to discover where your father is keeping Talia's body…"

" … How am I going to do that?" I asked her, and then she gave me that look that says – are you serious?

" That's for you to figure it out!"

Seriously! I shouted inside of myself but didn't utter a word. My mind was finding it hard to focus while I was still thinking about Tristan. Lost in my thoughts I was when Juana

" What's wrong?"

" Nothing!" I lied, but she didn't seem to like it.

" Listen to me, child! We're together in the same boat… Just like that, you have no reason to trust me, I have no one to trust you. Yet, I chose to trust you, and give you everything I had in my pocket. If you're not able to do the same thing, nothing is going to work."

Thinking about it, I believe she was right.

" I'm worried about Tristan! I hurt him badly last time, and I don't know if he's alright…"

" … Why do you care?" She snapped at me.

I breathed in and out, then busted out.

" He is my imprint… My mate!"

" It doesn't matter who he is, all that matters is that he's unworthy of your love…"

"… How do you know? Why would you believe such a thing?"

"Because if he cared about you, he wouldn't have punished you for what you never committed! If he loves you, he wouldn't be preparing for a mating ceremony with another. If he really cherished the bond between you both, he would've protected you from Aeron and anyone who dared harm you. He is unworthy of your love."

" What's a meeting ceremony?" I asked her.

In fact, I hate when I ask a question, and instead of receiving an answer. Yet Juana did what I hated the most, re-asked instead of answering.

" You don't know what's a meeting ceremony?"

I shook my head since I didn't really know what it meant. I mean, I've been a vampire for my entire life. Not once did I see myself with wolves, or being one of them.

"It's like a wedding party!" She simply said without trying to make it even less harmful to my poor heart.

At the right moment, I remember that girl he was exchanging kisses with outside of the cell I was locked in.

I wasn't able to hold back my tears, and I hate it. I hate that she was right; I hate that I was weak, and I hated more not being able to be spotted as a weak spot.

But that's going to change, I promise.

" Go take a rest sweetie, and by the next night, I promise you that you'll be taking your revenge from all who hurt you!"
