Chapter 27 Breakfast

'.....' = Thoughts

"....."= Conversations

James woke up early at 4 a.m., eager to conduct experiments concerning his Chakra. His purpose was to test if the angel had left any loopholes for him to exploit. However, despite his efforts for nearly two hours, he was unsuccessful in his attempts.

He discovered that aside from the angel's mentioned abilities, he could only use chakra for leaf manipulation, walking on walls, and walking on water. These skills were merely methods to enhance chakra control and had no further significance.

Although the ability to walk on walls and water might seem advantageous, they paled in comparison to James's Deva Path Ability.

With a sigh, James began practicing chakra control by utilizing the leaves of a potted plant in his room.

James first had doubts as to whether he would be able to concentrate for so long. However, his worries turned out to be unnecessary, as he was easily able to focus and practice chakra control. He also attempted the wall walk and decided to save the water walk for the evening, using the shower tub instead.

Time passed, and James remained deep in concentration until a knock sounded on the door.

"James, it's time for breakfast," Tony said from beyond the door.

"Breakfast already?" James walked towards the door, disbelief evident in his tone.

"It's 9 o'clock. What were you expecting?" Tony smiled as James opened the door.

"I was too caught up in training," James said, stretching his back.

"You're quite the hard worker. Let's go. I want to introduce you to someone," Tony said, walking ahead.

James followed Tony down the hall, his mind still filled with thoughts of his training. He couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment at how quickly he was progressing with his chakra control.

As they entered the dining area, James noticed the familiar faces sitting at a table. Bruce and Steve greeted him, and Tony then pointed at the girl sitting at the table. "Meet her, she is my girlfriend, Pepper Potts," Tony introduced.

Pepper rose gracefully from her chair, extending her hand for a handshake. "Nice to meet you," she said warmly. "You know Tony talks a lot about you. He..

James couldn't help but be impressed by her poise and confidence. He returned the gesture, shaking her hand. "Likewise," he replied, a genuine smile forming on his face.

Pepper continued "You know, Tony talks a lot about you. He....,"

""Whoa, hold up there, Pepper," Tony chimed in, a mischievous smirk playing on his lips. "Are you spilling some things there?" he interjected, halting Pepper's words before they could spill out of her mouth.

Pepper paused, a playful glint in her eyes. "Oh, Tony, always trying to derail the conversation," she replied, a hint of amusement in her voice.

Tony shrugged nonchalantly. "Just doing my part to keep things interesting," he said with a smirk, his trademark confidence radiating.

James couldn't help but chuckle at the banter between Tony and Pepper. It seemed like this was a regular occurrence in their dynamic.

As they all settled in at the table, James couldn't help but feel comfortable to be a part of this unconventional and vibrant group. With Tony's quick wit and Pepper's infectious laughter, he knew this would be an interesting morning indeed.

"So you were going to give me something," James reminded Tony of their conversation yesterday.

"You're quite patient for your age. If it were me, I would be dying to know," Tony smiled.

"It's the stash of cash and a letter, James. Now don't go getting all riled up, they weren't trying to keep ya in the dark. They just wanted you to have a normal life, away from all the craziness they were wrapped up in. That money and letter were their way of looking out for you,. They made me promise to spill the beans when you hit 21, or if they kicked the bucket. So, whatever the circumstance, they wanted me to wait 'til you came of age," Tony said in his signature Stark style.

"But why wait for so long and why did they give you the letter to you, as if knowing that they would die before I turned 21," James asked suspiciously.

'Were they murdered just like Tony's parents. This theory seems quite plausible as they were involved in a lot of important things,' James thought.

"I had my doubts as well. But you were well aware that they were both in their 70s and dealt with numerous health problems. Perhaps that's why they entrusted me with everything. They insisted that I wait until you reached the age of 21 before revealing everything to you. Little did we know, you would awaken these extraordinary abilities and find yourself in contact with S.H.I.E.L.D on your own," Tony sighed.

'Hold up, they were suffering from health issues? I never received this information from the memories of the previous owner of the body,' James pondered about the summary of information he had received, trying to recollect this specific memory, but was unsuccessful as it hadn't been mentioned in the memory summary.

"I will transfer the amount to your bank account. It's about four billion dollars and as for the letter, I will give it to you after you are done eating," Tony continued.

"Thank you," James said a bit absent minded.

"Also, you don't have to train in your room. There is a separate space for it on the seventh floor of the Avengers Tower," Tony said.

"Steve, what do you say about sparring me there, after breakfast?" James asked.

"Sure," Steve replied.

As James finished eating breakfast, he went to his room after receiving the letter from Tony.

The letter was in an envelope that appeared to be unopened.

James opened the letter and began reading it. The contents of the letter consisted of emotional words and comforting words for the body's former owner, as well as information about their identity.

Upon finishing the letter, James let out a sigh, lamenting the unfortunate destiny of the previous body owner. He folded the letter and returned it to the envelope, determined to find Steve and commence their combat training.
