A Year Later!

" HA! HA! HA!"

Diana practiced her sword swings in Athena's training fields.

" I have to thank you again cousins, for agreeing to help me with Diana's training." I was having a drink with two of my cousins, Artemis, and Athena.

After we arrived in our palace a year ago, Diana had asked me to help teach her how to fight. At first, I was reluctant. But I realized that if she was to travel with me in the human world she would need to know how to survive and protect herself should anything happen to me. Her divine powers hadn't awakened, at least to my knowledge, and honestly, I didn't know if they ever would. But when Artemis and Athena came to visit one day, they offered to help teach her in ways that I couldn't.

" It's always a pleasure." Artemis replied.

" So, Poseidon. Are you planning on leaving anytime soon?" Athena asked.

" Yes, actually. I see no reason not to. Diana can handle a sword now and is able to protect herself. I see no reason not to. It's not like where we're going will be enemy territory or anything. Wakanda is a peaceful nation, so long as you abide by their laws and don't show aggression first." I told the woman.

Athena took a sip from her cup of tea and then stared at me bluntly.

" What is it?" I asked.

" Well, we were wondering if you would consider having her... Well stay with us." Athena spoke.

My grip on my cup tightened and it shattered in my hands. I glared at Athena, and she reached for her sword at her hip.

" We just think that maybe she should spend a little more time, training. She doesn't have the powers of a god, like we do. If anything, she should visit the amazons." Artemis spoke up.

" I can tell you're only trying to help. But it's out of the question. She's 9 years old. And I missed those two years. I'm not missing another. Maybe when she's older and decides it's what she wants, then I'll consider it. But until she's a grown woman, she's staying with me." I told the both of them.

" But."

I raised a hand, instantly shutting down anything that Athena was going to say with a look.

" It's not up for debate. I appreciate the help you two have given me over the past year. But I am done. We will be leaving by the end of this day. If you want to see us off, then you are welcome to stay. If not, then leave now." I told the both of them. I then got to my feet and leaned over the balcony. " DIANA! Come, it's time for us to leave!" I shouted to the girl.

She stopped swinging her sword and turned towards the balcony. She smiled and nodded her head.

I then turned and walked inside the training grounds barracks and met Diana outside.

" Are we leaving now Daddy?" Diana asked.

I reached down and rubbed her head softly.

" Yes, we are dear. Come along, we must pack your things." I told the girl.

" But what about auntie Artemis, and Auntie Athena?" Diana asked.

" They have other matters to attend to at the moment. But don't worry, right now just focus. We've got a long trip ahead of us. Are you ready?" I asked the girl.

" Yes, Daddy!" Diana replied.

She jumped up and I caught her in my arms.

She wasn't the little girl she used to be. It looked like she was getting bigger and bigger every day. And... I felt saddened. Before I could her in my arms and she'd barely fit across my chest. But now she can wrap her legs around my back.

It felt like each day I got closer and closer to losing my little princess.

She's growing into a woman. And I hate it.

" I love you princess. I want you to know no matter what happens, or how far apart we are, I'll always love you."

" I love you, too Daddy." Diana hopped down from our hug and started running through the streets of Olympus towards our home.

Once we arrived, I quickly began packing a small sack for both Diana and I, so that we could travel with some comfort. Nothing to impressive, a couple of bags full of Drachmae, clothing, and other hygiene things. Food, The important things.

After we were done, Diana and I readied ourselves to leave. I sealed a portion of my power behind and sealed the palace off from anyone from entering without my consent and then we made to leave for Earth.

When we arrived at the portal to Earth, Hercules, Hestia, Artemis, Athena, and Aphrodite were waiting to say their goodbye.

" Uncle Hercules, Auntie Hestia, Auntie Artemis, Auntie Athena, Auntie Aphrodite! You all came!" Diana ran up and hugged Hercules first. He had been a good cousin to me ever since we met and was the god, I trusted the most.

" Of course, we did little one. We couldn't just let you leave and say goodbye, could we?" Hestia told the girl as she received her hug next

Diana jumped out of the woman's arms and nodded happily.

" I'm sorry, that we were the only ones that showed up, but my brother and Ares are disposed of at the moment." Artemis spoke after hugging Diana.

" It's fine I know Apollo and Ares are both busy men. They would be here if they could." I replied with nod.

" And Hephaestus is busy forging something for Hermes. But he did send me with a gift for you, young lady." Aphrodite spoke. She leaned down to Diana and placed a beautiful necklace around her neck.

" WOW! Thank you, Auntie." Diana told the woman.

" Thank your Uncle Hephaestus. He was the one who made it." Aphrodite spoke. Diana grinned from ear to ear and hugged the woman in front of her again.

" So, you're finally leaving. Well, I wish you the best of luck in your travels dear Nephew." Hestia spoke. She walked up to me, and we hugged each other.

" Of course, Auntie. I can never repay the number of debts I owe you. So, just know that if ever require a favor from me I will gladly carry it out." I told the woman.

" No need, Nephew. Just take care of yourselves. That is all I need ask." Hestia spoke.

" Of course." I replied. I then placed a hand on Diana's shoulder, and we walked through the portal. Ready to begin our journey.
