Prompt: Why do you fear the stars

(Takes place right after Thanos attacks the Statesman and Thor is floating in space.)

"Why do you fear the stars Brother?" Young Thor asked quietly to a young Loki who was sitting on a balcony looking up.

"I do not fear them, Thor," Loki said indignantly.

"Very well, why do you not like the stars then," Thor asked sitting next to him.

"They are…. Oblivion" Loki said slowly "Forever they shine, outlasting us."

Thor nodded "I think they're nice."

"I suppose so," Loki said after a moment of silence.

Thor scooched closer to his brother and leaned on his shoulder, they fell asleep like that, left for their mother to find in the morning.

Thor remembered that night clearly for some reason. Loki never liked stars. He knows Loki would be displeased with his body floating from the broken ship into the vast expanse of the stars, but what was Thor to do when he too was floating through the stars? Infinitely drifting, the quiet too loud. Thor knew why Loki didn't like stars now. They as Loki said before were oblivion, were shining so brightly while everybody's light goes out.
