To be honest, Stark was a little confused at this point.
He really didn't expect that Luo Bai had defeated Hulk purely by luck.
"Are you sure the ground collapsing was just an accident?" Stark asked Nick Fury, still in disbelief.
Nick Fury, caught off guard by the question, responded, "Why are you asking so much?"
Stark replied with surprise, "Don't you think this is all too coincidental?"
Nick Fury went silent.
In truth, he had been shocked when it happened. Just as Hulk was about to hit Luo Bai, the ground collapsed! At first, he wondered if Luo Bai had used some kind of ability to cause the collapse, but he hadn't seen Luo Bai make any move at all.
Because of this, Nick Fury had sent someone to investigate the situation.
S.H.I.E.L.D. might not be good at everything, but when it comes to gathering intelligence, they're top-notch.
Soon, S.H.I.E.L.D. found the explanation.
"I just got the report. It turns out there's an issue with the quality of this road. You know how Hulk's strength is beyond ordinary, right? I believe the collapse was caused by Hulk's attack combined with the poor quality of the ground," Nick Fury explained.
To be honest, Stark didn't really buy Nick Fury's explanation. But considering that Luo Bai had said the same thing earlier and denied using magic, he had no choice but to accept it.
And that was the scariest part.
He couldn't believe that someone could be so lucky. And on top of that, Luo Bai was a mage! A mage with incredible luck—how was that even possible?
"Seriously, Luo Bai, your luck is… unbelievable," Stark finally said, shaking his head.
Hearing this, Nick Fury grew curious. "What does luck have to do with anything?"
Stark quickly responded, "Don't you think? This is all too coincidental! If it wasn't due to luck, how else can you explain it?"
At that moment, both Nick Fury and Natasha Romanoff started to realize something was off. In the heat of the moment, they hadn't thought it through, but now it all seemed incredibly unlikely. Hulk had been just moments away from reaching Luo Bai, and then, right at that critical moment, the ground collapsed?
Thinking about it now, it was as if Luo Bai's luck had saved his life.
After considering everything, Nick Fury couldn't help but sigh, "You really are lucky."
Natasha Romanoff joked, half-seriously, "It seems like the Goddess of Luck has a soft spot for you, Luo Bai."
Before Luo Bai could respond, Nick Fury spoke again, his tone more serious this time. "Even though you got lucky this time, you can't rely on it. Luck won't always be on your side. What you just did was incredibly dangerous."
"Dangerous?" Luo Bai asked, confused. "Why was it dangerous?"
"Hulk's strength isn't something ordinary people can handle. You were nearly hit by him just now," Nick Fury explained.
Realizing that Nick Fury was expressing concern for his safety, Luo Bai calmly responded, "Even if the ground hadn't collapsed, I could've handled Hulk. The Goddess of Luck just acted before I did."
Nick Fury didn't reply immediately, but there was doubt in his eyes. It wasn't that he doubted Luo Bai's abilities completely. After all, Luo Bai had dealt with Obadiah in the past. But Hulk was on a completely different level than Obadiah.
So, naturally, Nick Fury wondered if Luo Bai could truly defeat Hulk.
Of course, while he had his doubts, Fury kept them to himself. After all, Hulk was no longer a threat, and there was no need to antagonize Luo Bai.
With that thought, Nick Fury said, "Alright, now that this is over, let's—"
Before he could finish, a familiar roar interrupted him.
"HULK!"
Everyone's expressions changed instantly.
Hulk was still conscious?!
Before anyone could react, Hulk jumped out of the crater and into the air, heading straight for them.
This was Hulk! If he landed, everyone nearby could be seriously injured, if not worse.
Panic spread quickly.
"Run!" Natasha Romanoff shouted as she took off.
Nick Fury and Stark were quick to follow her lead, diving for cover.
But Luo Bai didn't run.
He stood there, looking up at Hulk with a faint smile.
It seemed like he might still get a chance to fight after all.
Luo Bai gathered energy around him, preparing to strike. The moment Hulk landed in front of him, Luo Bai raised his hand and delivered a powerful palm strike.
The silent palm contained all the power Luo Bai had cultivated during his training.
The strike wasn't just physical—it struck deep into Hulk's very soul.
For a moment, time seemed to freeze.
...
The sound of Hulk crashing to the ground never came.
Stark, Nick Fury, and the others, halfway through their retreat, realized something was wrong.
They turned back and saw Luo Bai with his hand on Hulk's chest.
With that single strike, Hulk's soul… was knocked right out of his body.
Everyone was stunned.
Was this real?
The soul leaving the body with one slap… Is that even possible?
Ordinarily, people can't see souls. But Luo Bai, being a mage, had used a bit of magic so that everyone could witness it with their own eyes.
To prove that he had indeed defeated Hulk, Luo Bai had made Hulk's soul visible to everyone.
"Well, that should take care of it," Luo Bai said, dusting his hands off, as if this was just another day for him.
His words snapped everyone out of their shock.
Stark was the first to speak. "Wait… Luo Bai, is that… Hulk's soul?"
He pointed to the floating form of Bruce Banner, who seemed completely stunned.
