After an unknown amount of time, everything finally returned to normal. The spaceship appeared from the wormhole, drifting in the largeness of space.
Jack hurriedly unbuckled his safety belt and ran to the restroom.
"Thank goodness I didn't eat much earlier..." he muttered.
After a few minutes, Jack appeared from the restroom, leaning on the wall for support. He swore he would never go to Sakaar again, and if he had to, he would take the Bifrost instead.
Come to think of it, those wormholes were originally opened to dump garbage, so naturally, their quality is not very good.
After resting for a few minutes, Jack sat down in front of the computer and rubbed his eyes before asking, "Have we arrived yet?"
However, he didn't need the computer to answer - he already knew the response.
"Unknown pirate ship, you have illegally entered the territory of the Nova Empire. Please do not resist; we must take you in for investigation."
Jack heard a voice from the universal translator, meaning he had not made a wrong turn. However, it also suggested that there might be some trouble ahead.
Looking out the window, a massive starship shaped like an octagram parked not far away. As the words fell, a beam shot out from the starship, seizing control of Jack's spaceship.
An hour later, on Xandar, at the headquarters of the Nova Corps
Jack, dressed in plain clothes, was locked up in a small room, lying on the bed with his fingers intertwined on his stomach, looking peaceful despite being a prisoner.
There was a reason for his calm behavior, though. Aside from his interstellar passport, which he had paid a high price to obtain from the Valkyrie, the Nova Corps had a decent reputation. At least, they appeared to be honorable on the surface.
The reason why he was arrested was that his spacecraft was similar to the pirate's design.
As an official organization, Nova Empire naturally treats them as targets to be attacked.
Luckily, the Nova Empire is reasonable, or he would be in prison now instead of in a detention cell.
He believes that as long as they investigate him thoroughly, they will release him soon, so there is no need to worry.
As expected, in just over half an hour, he was escorted out of the Nova Corps headquarters, along with all his personal belongings and spacecraft.
In fact, what Jack doesn't know is that it wasn't so easy to release him this time.
Although he was not a pirate, he trespassed near the Nova Empire's capital, Xandar. According to the Nova Empire's law, he could be imprisoned for spying.
As for why he wasn't, he has no idea.
Half an hour ago.
The headquarters of the Nova Corps.
"What did you say?" Nova Prime looked at his Centurions, Saal, in shock, almost thinking he was joking.
But Saal remained serious, with a hint of fear in his behavior. "Yes, I didn't believe it at first either, but this is the result of the examination."
Saal gestured in the air, and a hologram of a human body appeared, strange and peculiar, half blue and half white.
However, this image caused Nova Prime's face to change, her eyes staring fixedly at the hologram. The energy index displayed was beyond anything she had ever seen. If it were to explode, it could easily destroy half of Xandar.
And his Centurion had just captured this apocalyptic-level disaster and locked him up in their prison.
Nova Prime gritted her teeth and glared at Saal: "You knew he was so dangerous, yet you brought him back to Xandar? And to this building?!"
Saal didn't dare to argue back. He was also very frustrated. Who would have thought that a normal human being could have such enormous power within them that, if unleashed, it could easily destroy half of Xandar.
"Go and release him, personally. Luckily, nothing happened. Maybe we can still fix the situation."
The Nova Prime felt a shiver down his spine, thankful they always led diplomatically and hadn't shown any hostility towards the intruder.
They probably would have already gone to war if it were the Kree Empire next door.
And so, Jack was respectfully escorted out of the headquarters, unaware that the person who personally released him was the Denarian, Saal.
"What's next?"
Jack thinking about his next move.
Firstly, he needed to find the coordinates and star map of Morag, take the Power Stone, and deal with the hidden danger within his body before considering other matters.
That's settled
But... with his goal set, where should he start?
Should he find a broker? Good idea, but the problem was he didn't know where to find one, and he didn't think they would tell him the coordinates of Morag either.
"Got it!"
Jack's eyes lit up as he thought of a solution, quickly making his way to the hangar where his spaceship was parked.
Boarding the ship, he sat down at the A.I.
"Access the public network of Xandar and search for the coordinates of Morag." he commanded.
As he recalled from the original story, Morag wasn't a particularly hidden place, and there were three parties looking for it. He could find something on Xandar's public network.
The spaceship's A.I. was very loyal to Jack's orders and quickly took what he needed from the huge amounts of information.
The coordinates of Morag, but only the coordinates.
"Got it!"
Excitedly slapping the table, Jack stood up and ran into the cockpit, starting up the spaceship and leaving the hangar.
The worries about his body had been bothering him, and he couldn't wait any longer. As for other things, he would deal with them when he returned from Morag. He planned to take a vacation on Xandar later and then return to Earth.
"Oh, my God!"
The Saal army captain who had been secretly observing Jack, breathed a sigh of relief as the ship ascended, sending this bomb away.
However, before he could breathe, the sergeant suddenly ran up to him in a panic.
"Sir, we've detected three Chitauri motherships jumping towards Xandar. They're expected to arrive in five minutes!"
"What? The Chitauri? What are they doing here?!"
Saal, who had just managed to calm down, suddenly felt his heart jump back into his throat.
They weren't afraid of the Chitauri, also known as space locusts because they were quite easy to deal with. All they had to do was destroy their motherships to win.
The problem was that the Chitauri were now working for Thanos.
Mad Titan is no ordinary Titan. He is a dominant figure in the universe, a ruthless leader who has created countless massacres through his forces. He himself is an executioner with blood on his hands.
In recent years, many planets under the Nova Empire have been visited by Thanos, and they cannot afford to confront him head-on. They can only barely ensure their own safety.
Now, he has sent three Chitauri motherships to Xandar.
What does he want to do?
Thinking of Thanos's notorious reputation, Saal's face turned pale, and he quickly ordered: "Activate the planet's defense system and let the Nova Corps prepare for battle. We are in trouble!"
"Yes, sir!"
The chubby sergeant nodded and ran off in a hurry.
Saal also turned to find the Nova Prime
Jack was unaware of the tense atmosphere on Xandar. As the spaceship returned to outer space and approached the nearest jump point, the A.I alerted him that three warships were about to appear from the jump point, warning him to avoid them.
Jack had no choice but to turn the spaceship away.
Boom!
Less than a minute later, the three oddly-shaped warships broke free from the jump point, forming a Delta formation in front of Jack.
"What the hell!"
Jack's expression was confused for a moment, and then he thought of something, and his face changed dramatically.
He remembered who the three warships belonged to.
The Chitauri, under Thanos' command!
Why were they here? It didn't take long for Jack to figure it out. Were they here to attack Xandar?
At that moment, the three Chitauri mother ships also spotted Jack's spacecraft and immediately released many small spaceships that swarmed towards him.
It was clear that they were trying to capture him.
