"As my new champion, I can grant you a wish!"
Grandmaster looked at Jack with admiration in his eyes. It had been two days since the final battle, and he had been resting and recovering, trying to regain his strength. He was also planning his escape because the control device around his neck had been destroyed during the last battle, leaving him free.
But before he could make his escape, Grandmaster found him and offered to grant him a wish as the champion.
Jack remained expressionless, but secretly he was starting to feel frustrated if he had known that being the champion could grant him a wish from Grandmaster.
He would have just asked for the best spaceship and left without all the trouble he had gone through in the last two months.
"I want my freedom!"
After a moment of frustration, Jack made his request. "I want to leave this place."
"Agreed! You are now free!" Grandmaster said
"???"
Well, Jack was confused.
Jack was puzzled once again. Is Grandmaster really this easy to talk to? He just agreed to release him so easily. Originally, Grandmaster had the idea of selling him to a collector to make a fortune, but since the latter learned about the battle two days ago.
The collector bluntly stated that he had a lot of collections and didn't want to take the risk of bringing back a time bomb.
Grandmaster also didn't want Jack to stay there any longer, as he didn't want to risk losing his Sakaar. After a difficult decision, he reluctantly decided to release him.
After Grandmaster announced that he was free, he left, and Jack was still immersed in the sudden joy of freedom, feeling somewhat out of it.
He also noticed that the guards at the door had been withdrawn, meaning he could leave anytime now.
"Then what are you waiting for?!"
After coming to his senses, Jack was afraid that Grandmaster would regret his decision, so he didn't take anything and ran outside without changing his clothes.
He ran out of the building and onto the bustling street, taking a deep breath of relief.
"Finally free!"
Although he had been well-fed and had a good place to stay for the past two months, strictly speaking, he had not been free. Sometimes he wanted to go for a stroll but couldn't.
Now, he could go wherever he wanted
Most importantly, he could finally go home.
"I was wondering when you were going to come out!"
A voice entered Jack's ear. He looked over and saw Valkyrie leaning against the wall, holding a bottle of wine.
"Grandmaster is not bad. I thought you were going to have to escape."
Jack turned his head to look at the Champion Tower, which depicted the portraits of past champions. There were only three portraits originally, but now his portrait was added to the top.
Looking at him, he seems fine, but if you look closely, his nostrils are a bit big.
"Believe me, probably only you would think he's not bad," Valkyrie sneered. "Everyone here would love to tear him apart!"
"What about you? Do you want to kill him?" Jack asked
Valkyrie paused his drinking and replied flatly, "Come with me. I'll take you to see your spaceship. I think you should leave now."
With that, he led the way, and Jack followed with a shrug.
They twisted and turned for about ten minutes on foot until they finally arrived at a large open space where Jack's spaceship was parked.
"Wow, it's even more stunning up close!"
Jack walked up to the spaceship, ran around it twice, and excitedly said to Valkyrie, "This is my spaceship! It's too cool!"
At this moment, he acted like a child who had just received his favorite toy. He had never even owned an airplane, let alone a spaceship, in his two lifetimes.
That is why they say planes and guns are a man's romance.
"The energy is sufficient, supplies are in place, the spacecraft is in good condition, and considering that you are not very good at flying a spacecraft, we have installed the latest automatic pilot program. You can take off at any time now," Valkyrie said.
Valkyrie took out a wristband-like personal terminal from his pocket and handed it to Jack, saying, "This is a biometric device. Once you wear it, the spaceship will belong to you!"
"Thank you, Valkyrie!" Jack gratefully took the terminal and said, "I really don't know how to thank you enough!""Just don't come back!"
Valkyrie smirked and raised his bottle, "And I've already received my reward. Goodbye!"
With that, he turned and left, walking into the distance.
Jack hesitated for a moment, thinking about whether to take the Valkyrie with him. After all, this place wasn't good.
But thinking about her past experiences, perhaps getting drunk and dreaming here would be better than outside.
He put on the wristband and walked towards the spaceship. The stairs automatically descended from the spacecraft's center, and Jack climbed up and entered the interior.
The spacecraft was actually pretty good. It was divided into two parts, with the cockpit at the front near the top and two rows of seats behind it.
Below the cockpit was the area for crew activities, and the space was quite large. There were bathrooms, bedrooms, and even a small kitchen.
At the very end was the engine room and storage area.
Overall, although the body of this spacecraft was not large, the inside was well-equipped and very elegant.
Jack really liked it.
"Welcome aboard. May I ask where our next destination is?"
As he climbed into the cockpit, a mechanical synthesized voice sounded stiff and emotionless.
"Um...do you have a route to Morag?"
"Please wait. Searching...no route or coordinates to Morag detected. Please reset your destination."
"Why not?" asked Jack, frowning. With the universe so wide, he knew that he would probably never find the planet without coordinates.
"Looks like we'll have to make a trip to Xandar first."
In the movie, Star-Lord received his task to retrieve the Orb from a broker on Xandar, so perhaps he could get the coordinates for Morag from them.
He could also get some high technology while he was there and when he returned to Earth.
Jack immediately commanded the A.I to set a course for Xandar. The ship quickly planned a path, ignited its engines, and gradually flew into the sky, approaching the teleportation gate to Xandar.
Jack sat in the cockpit, strapped in, and as he traveled through the wormhole, it was the first time he had ever experienced it.
The spaceship quickly arrived at the portal and went straight through it without stopping.
"Whoa!"
Suddenly, Jack felt his body and everything around him disorienting and confusing. His consciousness is rapidly transported through space.
He felt a sense of relief and exhilaration at having completed the transfer successfully.
...
After a while of Jack entering the wormhole, someone received a message in a dark and desolate corner of the universe.
It was in an asteroid belt, full of darkness and loneliness, with twisting and overlapping paths.
"Respected sir!"
A figure knelt quietly on the ground, with its head lowered as if it wished to merge with the ground. They spoke in a respected tone to the tall figure sitting on the throne above them "The human that you asked Chitauri to monitor has left the Grandmaster's territory and is now on their way to Xandar!"
"Xandar?"
A low voice resounded through the galaxy as if the cold wind of the Siberian plateau, but full of death and chill.
"Capture him and bring him to me!" said a person on the throne
"Yes, my lord!" said a figure kneeling on the ground.
