For fun!

"He said he'd be waiting outside the police station for the Devil of Hell's Kitchen."

Matt froze upon hearing this.

Because he, Matt Murdock—Daredevil—was called "the Devil of Hell's Kitchen" by some.

This wasn't just a vague reference anymore; it was almost like they were reading off his ID card.

Who was waiting for him outside the police station?

And what was their purpose?

Matt didn't think for long before getting up.

He wasn't afraid; he needed to find out.

After all, Daredevil was also known as "The Man Without Fear."

The name actually means reckless, bold, fearless.

"Alright, let me talk to my colleague."

Matt pulled Foggy out of the interrogation room.

"What did that guy say? I didn't understand a word."

Foggy complained, looking frustrated.

Noticing Matt's silence, and familiar with his friend, Foggy suspiciously asked, "Matt, tell me, you're not really going to the front of the police station to see if there's some guy in black, are you?"

"I am."

Matt nodded, to Foggy's disappointment.

"I need to gather some intel. You stay here and keep an eye on her; I'll be back soon."

Without giving Foggy a chance to react, Matt turned and left.

"The Devil of Hell's Kitchen?"

Foggy looked at Matt's retreating figure and chuckled to himself.

"Who comes up with such a ridiculous nickname? A theater actor?..."

Matt arrived at the front of the police station, standing still with his head raised.

He looked like he was basking in the sun, but in reality, he was listening.

The street in front of the station was busy, with cars flowing by and pedestrians coming and going.

His superhuman hearing caught every sound around him, painting a radar-like image in his mind.

That was his power—like a bat—his hearing was his vision, and sound was his picture.

Of course, this picture could be deceived.

Like right now.

"Hey, Matt, I've been waiting for you."

A voice suddenly came from his left, but in his mind, there was no image of where this voice was coming from.

No breathing, no sound of blood flowing, no heartbeat...

Even the subtle sound of air moving as it passed by this person… was absent.

In Matt Murdock's world, this person didn't exist.

Or rather, a ghost? Or something else?

Matt looked surprised and asked in the direction of the voice, "Who are you?"

Lynch smiled and then released his life field suppression.

Daredevil's abilities had been completely neutralized.

His superpowers relied on his enhanced hearing and sharp sense of smell.

But Lynch, with his Bio-Electric aura field, could control the sound around him, making himself "disappear" in front of Daredevil.

To Lynch, Daredevil was just a blind man.

But he was just having a little fun, curious to see Daredevil's surprised expression and take the upper hand in their first meeting.

"My name is Lynch. Can you sense me now?"

Lynch said with a smile.

Finally, a rough image of Lynch formed in Matt's mind.

But...

"Are you... human? Or something else?"

Matt was still shocked and questioned.

His super hearing picked up the immense power within Lynch's body.

That strong, powerful heart, that blood flowing like liquid mercury...

This was not something a normal human could possess!

"Yes, do you remember that big news in Brooklyn a while ago?"

"I remember... You're... that superhero?"

As a lawyer, Matt was well aware of various hot news, and finally, it clicked.

"Yes, let's find a quieter place to talk."

In a café.

Lynch stared intently at the now calm Matt, so much that even Matt frowned at the attention.

Lynch had no interest in men, so there was nothing odd about his gaze.

He was just surprised by how similar Matt looked to the Batman from the Justice League.

Originally, Lynch had thought that the Daredevil in this universe would resemble the one from the TV series.

But after meeting him, he realized that he actually looked more like the one from the movie.

The resemblance was undeniable, after all, both the Batman from Justice League and the movie version of Daredevil were played by the same actor.

Seeing someone who resembled Batman in the Marvel universe—especially for Lynch, who had a Superman-like system—was a thrill.

Lynch almost wanted to grab Matt's hand and shout, "Bruce, I've been suffering here!"

But sadly, Daredevil wasn't Batman, even though they shared many similarities.

When you really think about it, both were ordinary people who lost their parents young and worked tirelessly to hone their skills to become powerful.

If either of them had a superpower, Batman's might be the ability to attract bats and being rich, while Daredevil's was his bat-like echolocation.

Both had a no-kill rule.

Batman believed that unrestrained violence could never bring true peace; Daredevil, as a Catholic, believed that no one had the right to judge others, and therefore, no one had the right to take a life.

And of course, their costumes, their dark storylines... well, those who know, know. The similarities are plenty.

"So, what's the deal with this situation?"

Matt was the first to speak, feeling that Lynch might not be very reliable, despite already recognizing him.

"Karen found out a secret, so someone wants her dead."

Lynch summed it up succinctly.

Matt wasn't too surprised and continued, "Whose secret?"

Lynch glanced around, lowering his voice, "Have you heard of Kingpin?"

Matt's head tilted, surprised.

"I know him, the crime lord of Hell's Kitchen."

Lynch nodded. Looks like Daredevil already knew about Kingpin.

"Then you should know that you've been fighting against him this whole time."

Matt raised his head, silent for a moment.

"Yes."

It didn't take long to figure out that the greatest enemy of someone who's been battling crime must be Kingpin, the source of all evil in Hell's Kitchen.

"This whole thing, it's likely that he's behind it."

Lynch said, emphasizing each word.

"Are you sure?"

Matt frowned.

"My hearing is better than yours, Matt. And my sight is just as good."

Lynch boasted lightly.

"Alright, so what's your plan?"

Matt asked with some interest.

Fighting crime? That was always interesting to him.

Leaning forward, Lynch explained confidently:

"Help Karen get the crucial evidence, then charge Kingpin, lock him up for a few years."

Matt's expression darkened as he slowly shook his head.

"It's not that simple..."

"I know. Hell's Kitchen is filled with his people; he runs the place."

Lynch interrupted.

"That's why I came to you. You know Hell's Kitchen, don't you?"

Leaning back, Lynch's eyes drifted, and he spoke in a quiet, solemn tone:

"You and he are natural enemies. He's taken what's most important from you, and he'll keep taking more from those close to you... If you don't decide to take him down soon, you should stop what you're doing."

"What do you mean?"

Matt was confused.

"Maybe you've already figured it out—your father was killed because he refused to throw a fight. That man worked for Kingpin."

Lynch stared at Matt, speaking slowly and deliberately.

"What?"

Matt's face finally changed.

His father's death had been a huge blow to him.

He could never forget that memory of the strong, tough man who had guided him through his dark world, lying cold and lifeless in his arms.

"Are you sure?"

Matt's voice was cold and restrained.

It now sounded like the Devil of Hell's Kitchen.

"Yes."

Lynch answered briefly.

There was no need to explain much in front of Daredevil—truth and lies couldn't hide.

"Go get Karen out of the police station. There might be Kingpin's men there. I'll come find you."

Matt nodded without expression and quickly stood up.

"Then what are you doing all this for?"

Before leaving, he asked Lynch coldly.

"For some fun."

Lynch replied with a slight smile.

"I thought you'd say for justice."

Daredevil smirked coldly and left.
