Chapter 166: Star-Lord! God Forever!
Outside the magical tower, Sif looked anxiously at the closed gate.
Lorelei stood not far behind her, wearing a relaxed smile: "I really don't understand your worry; what you're concerned about is unlikely to happen.
You should know that Odin is truly formidable.
He won't let Asgard's legacy be broken, nor would he be starting anew at his age, right?"
The Three Warriors of Asgard tried to suppress their laughter.
Fandral couldn't help but make a wry comment: "Maybe, Your Majesty really could..."
"Boom--"
A loud noise interrupted his jest, and a figure suddenly shot out from the magical tower, colliding with Sif.
The two tumbled and embraced mid-air, crashing down into a heap on the ground.
Thor was underneath, and after a quick mental calculation, realized that Jane Foster's current strength was roughly equivalent to his own when he relied solely on Mjölnir's power at his peak...
"Cough cough..."
Sif coughed and asked softly: "Thor, it's good to see you're alright. Did His Majesty give you a hard time?"
Thor was confused: "Odin? Why would he give me a hard time?"
Sif: "??? Wasn't His Majesty just making things difficult?"
Thor was embarrassed—what on earth are you thinking?
At this moment, Jane Foster hurried out, holding Mjölnir.
Her steps were hurried, completely forgetting that she could fly now...
"Thor, are you alright? I'm sorry, I don't know how this happened!"
"Um, why are you looking at me like that?"
....
"Hey, yo, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh..."
"Come and Get Your Love..."
Outside the Morag Star Temple, a young man in a leather jacket was holding a peculiar mouse-like creature, singing and dancing along to music from his Walkman. Accompanied by the tunes, Peter Quill seemed to transform into a music god, creating a very surreal scene.
Certainly, surreal refers to the situation where you can hear the music, if there's no background noise...
"Damn it! What an idiot!"
Carol Danvers hid behind a rock, enduring the auditory assault and resisting the urge to shoot him.
This wasn't over yet, was it?
Carol suddenly noticed that her energy shield was failing to block the noise attack.
Finally, as Peter Quill finished his song, a satisfied smile appeared on his face. He tossed the now-tattered creature aside and slowly walked into the temple.
As he entered, Carol was about to follow when her expression grew serious, and she turned to observe several fighter planes approaching from the distance.
"This plane... is a Kree fighter?"
She muttered to herself, deciding to wait and see what happened next.
Inside the temple, Peter Quill retrieved an instrument, activated the mechanism, and held the Power Orb in his hands.
"Done!"
Peter thought with satisfaction; this time, he could finally ditch the troublesome Yondu and those persistent scavengers who wanted to constantly chase him. He planned to deliver the Power Orb to his employer, and the bounty he would receive was enough for several lifetimes.
As for Yondu...
After collecting his bounty and acquiring a new spaceship, the entire galaxy would be his playground. At that point, he could casually pick up girls from all over the universe...
"That despicable boy is talking about you. Put down the Power Orb!"
A stern voice interrupted Peter's daydreaming. Coming to his senses, he saw a dark-skinned figure pointing a gun at him.
"Oh, no, no, no, don't shoot!"
Peter made a dramatic show of surrender, putting down the Power Orb and raising his hands.
"Don't shoot, I'm just a scavenger. My name is Peter Quill, trust me!"
"You better behave!"
The dark-skinned figure, known as Korath, a Kree Star Trooper who had narrowly escaped Dr. Lawson's lab over ten years ago, did not understand the nickname Star-Lord had given himself.
Korath picked up the Power Orb from the ground while still aiming his weapon at Peter: "Come with us. Master Ronan has something to discuss with you."
Peter tried to hold back his smile: "Have you heard of my other name, Star-Lord?"
Korath frowned: "Star-Lord? Who's that?"
Star-Lord: "...Team."
Carol muttered from the shadows—what an idiot!
She was ready to take action.
Peter, failing to maintain his pretense, started shooting at the bewildered Korath and managed to escape after a fierce confrontation.
"Hey, Star-Lord! Why are you chasing me?"
He ran frantically, reaching the vicinity of his spaceship, only to be blocked by a formidable figure.
